I love silver and crazily love to polish it. Always polished my mother’s and would collect it all and would turn on music and got in the zone.
He is definitely right about southern, humid climates. If you like to keep silver out to use and enjoy, you’ll be polishing every two to three months.
I like it. I learned new things. Gracias
I had no idea you couldn't wash your stainless steel silverware with your fine silver. Learned something helpful.
Thanks bud. Good info. Cheers.
He's using Wright's Silver Polish....its the Best!
What do you call the giant bowl to his right?
What polish did you use? Cut to the chase, man!

PLEASE tell me about the history and marks on the tall compote! If you would be so kind, please put me in your will to inherit it. I swear, I will take good care of it and never let anyone use chemical dips or "professional polishing," also known as machine buffing, on it. Machine buffing is like powersanding. It destroys.
Be careful with your Silver spoons etc. don’t ever put them in the dishwasher because the oxidation will be washed away.
i got a silver pitcher at a garage sell
You know, I store my silver in plastic bags- as long as its air tight it will do the trick. And a few water spots aren't a problem at all- just wipe the silver dry and you'll be fine.
What kind of silver polish did you use?
In case he doesn't answer --- he is using wrights silver cream. It really works.
3M's silver polish also works extremely well.
I use Twinkle.
I've also read that it is not good to store silver in any kind of plastic.. where the plastic comes in contact with the silver will cause permanent discoloration. The book said if you must store in plastic bags, to first wrap the silver in cloth... to prevent contact with the plastic. Not sure why this is so...
barrett864 plastic bags keep the air from silver, which cause it to tarnish. I've never seen stains from plastic over silver-I'm a silversmith and have hundreds of components of sterling and fine silver in plastic bags for years and have never seen any problems. I don't know your source, and it contradicts what most jewellers do.
