Thank you for this video. I can relate to the 60 minute morning basket. I made that change last year. It was hard for me but my kids are older and needed more time for other subjects so they asked, we discussed and we stuck to that all year. I’m not going to lie, we went over a few times because the conversation was sparked by a topic. I am always so grateful for these talks with my teens It is such a beautiful part of homeschool. Have a great year!❤

We don’t do school fridays. We use it as a make up day if we missed something. Fridays is sabbath preparation day for us. We go to church Saturday:) I love your videos and they are so helpful and we are a good and beautiful family and my daughter loves it. So fun!

I love how you’ve made your schedule simple! It’s not tracked by the minute and can easily be flexible.

I’d love for you to go into more detail at some point about your oldest daughters duel enrolment. I know she hasn’t started yet.. but we’d love to journey along side you in this new aspect of it.. as I sure many others would as well.
Thanks so much for sharing!! One thing you never said was what your first official day back is going to be! I’m sure you will have a wonderful school year with your kiddos mama!

We too are start early and finish early. Later does not work for us. We too are not a hourly and end time scheduler homeschool family. Our homeschool goes M-TH All core subjects including Bible and lighter Fridays with just spelling, handwriting, art/craft with a fun history exploring and possibly a field trip some Fridays.
I wish I can plan in pencil 😂 I’m a pen and paper mama but thankfully whiteout has come in handy 😅

Totally love the assigned reading time… keeping it for after school. Love that. And sounds like a fantastic school year planned out so far. Happy homeschooling y’all

Thank you, Ashlee, for all your awesome advice and your willingness to share your routines and such. You have helped me so much develop a productive homeschool day. I love the Good and the Beautiful as well. Between you and Jady A. videos, I feel like i have gotten to the place I want to be as a teacher and mother and doing this homeschool life. I was home educated all the way through. I always craved more structure as a child, so your videos over the last couple of years have helped teach me how to obtain that for my family! Lord bless you and yours

I love the assigned reading idea not being a part of the "school day." I am going to give that a try! Thanks!

Are you keeping history separate from morning time? That helped us keep morning time down. Having morning time then some group time. The discussions are such a treasure at this stage and needed!

No I’ve always had that follow morning basket immediately which I am still doing and not counting in my 60 minutes

@@GraceandGrit ah! That makes sense. 60 mins just for morning basket and then history. Sweet! I pray you have a wonderful school year. Thanks for sharing! You are such a blessing!

Have you always “mapped out” 6-12 weeks time? I’m a first year homeschool mom using TGTB and I haven’t mapped out anything. Just open and do the next lesson. But I’ve heard quite a few people talk about planning out like that. Am I missing something by not doing this? Or is it just where you have multiple kiddos?
