- Drunk History turned true tipsy tales into must-see TV - so didn't we get to see the episode on Bruce Lee? It turns out that the popular Comedy Central show was abruptly canceled for some pretty crappy reasons.

The History Channel missed an opportunity by not picking up Drunk History originally and it's a dumb move for them not to swoop in on it now. I guess it doesn't feature enough Bigfoot for them now.
Like actually. More accurate than most of the rest of their content these days. 🙄
In their defense, they DID try to warn us OVER AND OVER AGAIN what rising fascism would look like, and we didn't listen. 🤷♀️

The history channel is owned by a right winger who would’ve ruined it.
They’ve gone down the reality TV route and their programming, which used to be interesting and engaging, seems to be mostly aliens, conspiracy, and reruns of the good stuff.
Drunk History was the BEST!!!! Someone please bring it back!!!
Do you remember a fox show called "making history"? They (the machine) pulled the rug from under that funny show as well.
If it was real real it would be. It’s not fully real or “actually drunk” enough.
Along with “1,000 ways to die!” I miss them both.

Cleopatra had to be hands-down the most hysterical episode. Audrey plaza with the drunk moderator were straight “gag queens”😂😂😂

My favorite was always Rose Valland with Tiffany Haddish.
I literally learned more watching Drunk History than I did at any school (which is either high praise for the show or an indictment of my teachers).
Or an indictment on your ability to pay attention and learn in class. Its not always the teacher's fault.

@@kuoh13I went to public school in the United States. It was very rare to have a teacher who held a high bar and expected students to reach for it. Most of my teachers catered to the loudest and/or least educated level of students and some even then complained that they weren't able to teach us more in depth stuff. It's like, "bruh, this is your class. Don't let your students write your lesson plan".

I've learned more history from this channel than with boring old "Mr. Smith" that has been teaching for 23 yrs & is sick of it..

Brit born and well educated I actually learned a great deal of American history from the show. NO JOKE!
It was the only show I preferred the American to the British spinoffs.
I'm English, but I grew up in the States, and I learned more history off "Drunk History" than I did in the Ohio state school system.
@@Beedo_Sookcool the content was well-written and I loved the way each series encapsulated either locations / cities, u.s. presidents, influential women Etc .. and then to mix just the right amount of wry humour. Also perfect editing between the narration and the actors playing the roles!

Agree! She did a couple three fantastic episodes.. Everybody raiding her closet on the narrative part was hysterical.

I honestly think swapping to adult animation is a brilliant decision.
However I think they should have kept drunk history and just chosen to animate it.

Drunk History was an eye opener for television . It Made Television Great Again, and I don't drink
I haven’t watched Drunk History in years, mostly because we got rid of our cable & I was too lszy to track it down elsewhere. But I LOVED the first several episodes, when it was still super low budget. Seeing Jack Black as Ben Franklin in a terrible, cheap wig honestly made it even funnier. Hopefully another channel will pick it up soon!
I wanted to make a spinoff called High Mythology. With the legalization of THC and associated products (at least in New York), I figure the show would be about people taking either gummies, brownies, smoking weed, etc. and talking about various world mythologies. One episode can be on the Trojan war, the next on the creation myth of Lenape people, the next the story of Hanuman taking the entire top of a mountain to get a medicinal herb for Rama, the next The story of Moses parting the Red Sea, etc.

Drunk History was a blast to watch. You could get drunk/high, have a laugh, and learn a little history. Don’t mess with a winner. Comedy Central better bring it back if they have any decency.
They didn't even give the creator a heads up that they canceled his show. Sad to say I think they might be lacking in the basic decency department.
I've watched this wonderful show shit faced. But like a friend of mine said, you learn about history but most times don't retain it.

I still see these all of these actors through the lens of their Drunk History work - both in the re-enactments and the drunk narration.
I haven't watched any Comedy Central at all since they dropped all their live action programming.

"The Real Reason Drunk History Was Canceled" was not answered in this video. It does speculate that Comedy Central was shifting to animated shows rather than live action. Also, you know, the global panini put a damper on production in general.
I want to see a spinoff called 'HIGHstory' where they tell history while blazed. The one thing i always worried about with Drunk History is that the people involved were getting way too drunk, i was concerned they'd get alcohol poisoning and i couldn't relax and laugh and watch the show. A 420 version would not have the same problem, and might be even funnier.
Yeah they had rules and medical professionals right there. You couldn’t be already drunk when they arrived because they couldn’t monitor you properly. Someone said they had IV hydration available. All the narrators basically said it was the worst hangover they ever had 😮

It sounds a lot like Disney comedy central does. Comedy Central really screwed the pooch on this one. I hope he’s doing well..
Drunk history was epic, and why i became a history buff wanting to know and doing research to see if these accounts were legit. I found that they were legit, entertaining and i was all for it. Sad they ended it, because it could've pushed others to do some looking into the past.

Really entertaining show! Very much missed. My friends and I gather on weekends and do a home version of Drunk History. Cool to learn new and often obscure bits of history.

This is a GREAT show. I learned... questionable facts lol. Loved it! To be honest, I never had CC but if Netflix/Amazon/Disney + had it on their streaming then I would 100% watch the whole thing.

It was mentioned that because of the pandemic and because the network was shifting more towards animated shows.
Why doesn’t Netflix pick this up? My favorite episode will always be The Story of Frankenstein Halloween Special.
That was literally the only show that made me watch TV if it wasn’t for cartoons and it actually taught you something they would be dumb not to bring it back right now

Tosh, awkwafina & Drunk History. Among these three...Only Drunk History made me laugh.
Why I think it was canceled, because the idiots in charge told them they couldn't actually get drunk drunk anymore and that made the show faaaar less funny. Like later episodes were just sober people trying their hardest to be funny. And it just wasn't the same.
