There is a smaller rectangler plastic housing that retains the push key and reverse safety button (triangle), it broke on my Cub. It too is held in with tabs and the ones on the right side snapped off and the mower wouldn't stay running. How did they break is a mystery since I never knew this smaller housing was removable however, it is not a purchasable item and I refuse to pay $150. Your excellent video will allow me to find a solution. Thank you!
Just replaced mine. My problem was the PTO clutch wouldn't engage. This fragile module controls everything why couldn't they atleast keep a lawnmower simple. But I do have a spare pto clutch, safety switches and pto switch now.😂
Ive got power to my switch the hours and battery display and the reverse blade button works. But it won't start. Im Trying to figure out if its the switch or starter solenoid or whats going on. Its like sometimes it starts fine. Then it won't.
You will need to see if you are getting power to the solenoid from the ignition switch. I'm leaning towards the switch being bad since solenoids usually go bad and that's it.
@@jbuck1975 it can but if I remember correctly the wire harness on the mower side was different so there will need to be alot of rewiring or you'll need to swap the harness from another mower with the key ignition.
30 seconds and quit and now it cranks but it don't start could this be the ignition module as well I sprayed it it's getting gas it's not getting any Spark this all happened in 30 seconds
@@carlosdanger2586 I would disconnect the kill wires from both coils and crank it again to confirm you have spark. If you do have spark with the wires disconnect but no spark with wires connected then most likely it is ignition switch related but you will need to dig deeper.
There is actually a way to bypass it without having to buy a new module for $150. Put a push button connected to the wires that go to solenoid. Push the button down and press start key.
Vary simple explanation. Thank you. May the good Lord watch over you and your family and friends. Peace and Love 😊.
Thank you very much 🙏
Just picked up my new module today. Thanks for the video showing a simple process to replace it
No problem and thank you for watching.

Glad you like the video and hope you find a solution.
Is the voltage across the wires supposed to be the same as the battery voltage? I’m getting around 9 Volts when testing. Thank you for your video!
Yes it should stay about the same, you can have about 0.5v or so drop but not like what you are seeing.

Glad you got it fixed and it's always good to have spare parts 😅

@mr_fixit if it is the switch can it be converted to a key switch instead of push button. ALOT cheaper

If it's my switch could it still turn the motor of but make the motor not have spark?
The magnetos circuit runs through the ignition switch so it is possible for the engine to crank and have no spark.

Do you know if this module is the same on the fuel injected model? Great video btw
Thank you for watching. I do believe it's the same module but I would call your local Cub Cadet dealer to confirm just in case.
@@mr_fixit turns it is indeed the same. Thanks!
I have a Cub Cadet xt2 and I pulled it out of the shed it run about
