    Your attention to detail and persistence in overcoming fitment issues before moving on is a credit to you. You are a very skilled craftsman. We also share a soft spot for A series Mantas too. Trying to make your videos last as I am enjoying them so much. Is Jade mustang finished. ....have only recently discovered your channel!
    Take care!

    Your great with the welder but your seam sealing brush technique needs some work, you've got to color inside the lines....lol Great job, your video's have helped me a great deal with helpful info used during the restoration a friends 65 Mustang convertible.

    I found it. I thought I was going crazy, I knew I saw the radio repair somewhere lol. Even this panel (a Dynacorn stickered piece) is not stamped right and will require a fit like you have done. I was hoping to weld the side of it in the glove box area but there is no way because of the poor stamping. Thanks.

    Nice job! I agree that, the cowl is structural, that's a big load spot on those Mustangs , so I'd want it welded definitely .. Coming along nicely 👍

      Shake Rattle and Roll Garage Export braces bolt directly to the cowl. Definitely a structural part of the car.

    Looking great! my 66 project could have been that extensive, but as I've written before, I chose to do it piece by piece. I replaced lower firewall, cowl extension panels, floor pan, rockers (inner and outer), torque boxes, floor supports, seat pan, seat stiffeners, rear frame rail, trunk floors, outer wheelhouse, quarters, tail pan - Your process in ways seems easier, by not piecing back all those things together, but more difficult because it's a blank canvass... I'm really impressed with your work, and your progress... it's funny how when you get close to the end of a project you want to re-do all the work you did at the beginning of the project! keep the video's coming! They have been quite inspirational!

    Looks like when you placed the front frame rail in the front sub floor support there is some slop between the two pieces of metal. How did you draw the two together so they where tight prior to welding.
    Also, what holes sizes did you drill, wire size and mig welder settings. Trying to replicate and minimize the learning curve on my end. I have a similar project going on...any help would be appreciated.

    Seems like it would have been faster to buy a whole repro body instead of piece by piece. Guess that wouldn't make for as good a vid though. Great work as always.

    I wonder if you could give me some details on your technique when you welded in the dasj patch, it looked outstanding and you could barley tell. There was no wavyness and the welds blended really well with the surrounding metal. I am looking for some pointers since all my welds seem to be slightly lower than then surrounding metal and will not be hidden without some filler. Thanks for the videos there are great.

    • @JoDaddysGarage
      @JoDaddysGarage  6 років тому

      I make sure the metal is flush, and run a series of tack welds around the perimeter. I then slowly add tack welds in between previous welds until I fill in all the seams. I do not get in a hurry. I let it cool slightly between welds so it doesn't warp.

    • @FloridaBandit99
      @FloridaBandit99 6 років тому +1

      What about when grinding? I have been using a stone to know the weld down initially and then a ro-lok to blend it in, but i think that process is adding a bit to much heat because overall things are slightly wavy. It is not alot and I have not been that concerned with it since I am just working floor pans right now but once I do something that is going to be seen daily I think it will be unacceptable. Thanks for responding and keep up the great videos.

    • @JoDaddysGarage
      @JoDaddysGarage  6 років тому

      I don't use a stone, but it shouldn't generate that much heat if you take your time. I also us 3M 2" sanding discs to do almost all of my blending.

      Thanks again for your answers and I am sorry to keep asking questions, i am very much a beginner at this and I am trying to learn. When you were welding in the radio patch you welded in and blended from the front did you also go and weld from the back and blend that or did you just get the penetration from welding from the front. Thanks again.

    • @JoDaddysGarage
      @JoDaddysGarage  6 років тому

      I had enough penetration from the front. I did minor blending on the backside.

    what weld thru primer do you use? i have some SEM gray rattle can primer, but it makes welding extremely poppy/nasty.. its conductive, but the contamination factor is ridiculous. wondering if that copper SEM would be better, but i think its like $20 a can.

    • @JoDaddysGarage
      @JoDaddysGarage  6 років тому

      I've used the copper, but I prefer 3M 05917

    Is the upper/lower cowl welded to the lip of the front dash? Or are you able to cut the lower and side welds of the dash and pull it out without removing the windshield and cowls.

    • @JoDaddysGarage
      @JoDaddysGarage  6 років тому +1

      The upper half is welded to the dash lip.

    The larger opening on the passenger side is to get the antenna in and out I think. Stay away from Harvey.

    • @JoDaddysGarage
      @JoDaddysGarage  6 років тому

      I referenced the cr the dash came from. The dash, and the kick panels came from the same car. I also referenced the factory welds.

    Where are the drains holes for the cowl? I don't see any.

    • @JoDaddysGarage
      @JoDaddysGarage  6 років тому

      It doesn't have actual drain holes. Water is channeled to the sides, and drain under the fender. The little humps in the front corners of the top panel are the drains.

    How much of a car can you change before it's not the same car?
