- Part 5 of a full playthrough of Half-Life: Alyx in VR (Oculus Rift S) without commentary. A playthrough with commentary and camera will also be uploaded on my second channel soon.
Well, that was tense.

The distillery is probably the best VR level ever made. So scary, so many twists. The realisation that the wire you need is in the fridge is gut wrenching. Being stuck in the lift is terrifying. The whole thing is masterful.
Ok,spoilers
Ckinggaming 2.cking why are you reading the comments instead of watching the video?
@BitterVoid For VR is most likely is gut wrenching considering this is what you're seeing personally, I can only imagine what Harry sounded like during all this
Tbh I would have tried to go back and explore
Cant wait for the next part! Keep on going!
39:33
Years from now someone will come back and watch this playthrough and not understand why he made such a big deal out of the toilet paper being there.
OVKatz Lmao, same thoughts here
Is there a tp shortage over in Europe too?
@@XJonAye YEP.
@@XJonAye Not that I've noticed but some people are sure acting like it ^_^
Years from now, someone will come back and watch this playthrough, point to the toilet paper, and say "What's that?"
Jeff: *is right there*
Harry: *dual wielding bottles and trying to grab resin*
Good comment but i still won't enable the remote door control system
Dual wielding for resin then walking past them after that about 4 times.
Auto correct : Its Larry not Harry.
Love the fact that not only valve put a lot of toilet paper together and a great amount of detail to it, but also the fact that anyone watching this video in the
future is not going to understand why people point out and pay a lot of attention to the toilet paper. A little inside joke, from us people in the present.

Because of that pesky virus.
In the zoo at 47:47 the dictor says in Russian "something something of other species has unforeseeable consequences" I think that's a liitle easter egg from devs. Can't make out the rest, because Harry left the area.
The theme of the things he says is ecosystems, and how they are balanced overall, which is quite fitting in the setting.
Хоть где то есть русский
Has anyone realized what a big brain Larry is? He's got a spiked helmet against headcrabs.
hey, you're right!
i thought the same
Also barnacles can’t get him
@@TheJAJPG i mean, barnacles can get him (as shown in the video), they just have to latch onto something else
like a leg
@@arekrekas213 ah yeah I just realized that
I felt the panic at 30:35
look at 12:32
And he wags his finger at the bottle as if he's telling it off.
why do i feel like the vodka bottle is going to be like the gnome quest
You can find the same gnome after leaving Russels hideout and there's an achievement in the game (I think its called "Gnome vault on me"??) and so I suspect that you have to take the Gnome to a vault in the game to get the achievement.
@@truck6128 oh boy. that will be a pain
There's an achievement for either putting the vodka in your pocket or bringing a vodka bottle to Russell. I'm not too sure which one though.
You got vodkad
You do have two wrist pockets. One for the gnome, one for the vodka. You just have to go without the pockets
The zoo reminds me of a real zoo. You go to see things like that you don't see every day, like otters. But when you show up they are all inside of a cave or something where you can't see, and all that you can see are the canadian geese standing in the pen. It's like that, but with headcrabs and antlions instead of geese.
Flareon Dude underrated comment
Not even 5 seconds in and there is a "My name Jeff" joke to be made already
I love how the 1911 just slowly turns into the alyx gun as you upgrade it
Same can be said for the shotgun. The double shot upgrade gave it a heat shield, a similar one to the SPAS-12 (the model of the shotgun in other _Half-Life_ games.)
oh yeah...
Poor Jeff, man. Even as a Zombie, he just wants to guard his Vodka from those pesky Headcrabs.
I don't even think that can be classified as a zombie anymore, I know in Opposing Force they introduced mutations but you still saw remanence of the Headcrab even with the huge brute that threw the acid at you.
Headcrabs were all called Vadim trying to take his Vodka.
Mate397 VADIM BLYAT
Well he *LOOKS* like a re-creation of a GONOME in HL-1
So he may or may not be a head crab
Harry: Neat, cages with headcrabs and resin!
Harry: *Looks at three different cages, the middle one directly with a resin fully displayed in view*
Harry: *Only takes the resin out of the left and right one and moves on*
Me: *Internal german yelling*
1:02:18 for anyone wondering
9:05 : “try not to get killed!”... well, that was the plan from the start!!
Also better Said then Done.
Easier* maybe?
53:09 the title says "my favourite animal" and this zombies favourite animal is a tiger, so sweet valve
It's interesting to see Jeff calm down when he hears the elevator music, it's like a small moment where what's left of his human side is shown.
artex.000 no, he was just looking everywhere because the music came from everywhere in the elevator or right above him
@@genericcreator6467 I don't think so, otherwise he would have been freaking out in every direction (eg. when the control pannel started beeping), but he seemed pretty calm.
...and them you crush him in a trash compactor!
just like the zookeeper with a headcrap on him who was touching the drawings..
"Oh, don't worry, he can't see. Hears just fine, though. Got an ear like Mozart."
Bro the distillery was my favourite VR experience ever. Valve knows how to masterfully and fluidly introduce, expand, and test you on a concept. I was scared out of my mind and loving every second of it!
alyx: JEFF ARE YOU ALRIGHT
also alyx: *dancing on jeffs grave*
larry: JESUS CHRIST WHAT DID YOU DO TO JEFF
also larry: *dancing on his grave also*
one of my favorite moments for sure ^_^
^-^
lol neither of these things happened
@@JelenK its a joke...
I'd never thought a no-commentary VR game could be so amusing.
It's like watching a POV movie without being interrupted by commentary
36:27 I guess Jeff had the last laugh.
This dude at 18:00 was intense enough to watch on TV. Can't imagine the pressure you felt of actually "being there"
59:07 The gunfire sounds so visceral and real here
I like how everyone in the Half-Life world just kind of rolls with the discovery of a new and terrifying monster. This is just the world now. We encounter walking nightmares every day.
Their better be an achievement for bringing some vodka back to Russel or to the end of the chapter or game
There is!

This is LockPickingLawyer and today we are going to try Half Life: Alyx's method of lock picking.
Shoots gun*
Yep, as expected. My neighbors weren't proud about that and instead called the police for the fact that shots are fired.
since when valve has the rights for making resident evil...
Jeff really looks and feels like a resident evil monster.
reminds me more of Amnesia
The whole QZ almost looks like RES-8 or 7 (Biohazard)
SK92300 more like a clicker than anything
@Speed Anarchy Yeah that’s more accurate actually, but Jeff feels more like Mr.X or Nemesis following you everywhere.
Jeff literally looks like something out of The Thing.
Jeff is unironically my name. when I first got to this chapter I had immediately suspected one of my friends somehow modified a text file somewhere.
Your name a jeff
Sigma thats how i introduced myself to people when that meme was initially a thing
Do you keep introducing yourself like that?
@@mecha6030 Haven't used that introduction in a good few years.
That zombie Jeff was murdered by a specific gun wielding woman who helped a famous man with a crowbar
Man I was REAAAAAAALLY hoping that Larry would say his name is Laszlo.
The greatest mind of our generation
The zombie looking at the child's drawing...
oof
The best chapter of any Half Life game, in my opinion.
Make it pc or console version and it will be the best game. Easy money for valve
@@yourtags4876 The entire appeal of that chapter is the VR immersion
i'm really getting SOMA and Stranger Things vibes from that enemy
Yeah! Same! A bit less scary than SOMA but had the same vibe.
30:34 when your heart skip a beat
23:50 “you okay mate?” “ yeah, all good, man!”
By this point, everyone should have figured out the devs had too much fun posing the corpses.
Huh, I didn’t even know you could kill Jeff, I just trapped him. And got an achievement, how about that?
Huh, ok, didn't knew that

Harry: Huh

36:27
Jeff:

"Oh my god, Jeff, are you okay?"
Don't worry, Alyx, he's fine. Lost a little weight is all.
This is legitimately the most afraid I've ever been in a video game, and I'm not even the one playing it.
it was tense... for sure
I'm absolutely amazed that this level of horror had come from Valve, and from the Half-Life series of all things. We may have waited almost forever to hear anything after episode 2, but I think this has definitely been worth the wait. I'm excited to see if Valve will continue the momentum of this story [although a game as detailed and polished as this does take a very long time].
Omg dude the part with Larry literally had me jumping out of my chair honestly felt like I was watching a movie hahah and the way you played the part omg man deadset I was having chills
At first I took Jeff as something similar to the potato-proxies in SOMA. But man, oh man, did they make him way more terrifying to deal with. Thinking you have him locked away in that freezer, only later being forced to let him out because the wiring runs through there... and being trapped in that tight lift with him merited a serious "Holy shit." from me. Getting Jeff into that trash compactor was definitely a satisfying victory (locked behind a rather clever "gate" that needed you to mulch him before opening it), I really first thought you could only just have him trapped in there!
12:35
insert "To Be Continued" meme here
30:33 My stomach dropped
VR really shows any dude with at least one hand could fend off headcrabs.
Hearing those turret sounds again after so long is oddly nice.
Part of me thinks Valve added in like 1000% more toilet paper right before releasing the game. Anyone else think that?
Good question. But what I do know is that Gabe Newell just happened to be in New Zealand when the pandemic hit. He's still here.
Jeff is legit an amnesia monster
53:05 missed opportunity there. They could have had a texture there where the zombie did a very terrible drawing using it's own blood
omg that headcrab at 22:14 is like a cat on a dresser
alyx: (sees headcrab) don't even think about it
headcrab: (knocks off a bottle)
alyx: seriously, stop it!
headcrab: make me (knocks off another bottle)
alyx: what the hell, you're going to get us both killed!
headcrab: (knocks everything off the shelf, runs away)
Is that the famous jeffrey epstein ?
Resemblance is uncanny.
36:16 Yep, it's a suicide !
Imagine if Harry was walking very peacefully at 46:10 and suddenly an Antlion Guard shows up
Imagine dealing with Antlion Guards in Half-life alyx - Those mfs were already strong in HL2-HL2:EP2, it would be a nightmare to deal with them here.
I have never before and very much doubt I ever will again see a man chastise a wine bottle. Thank you(?) for the experience, Harry.
thanks for uploading these I'm really enjoying how smooth your head movements are and how much you interact and explore the environment.
Sometimes I like to think of all the combine soldiers as the Barney clones from blackmesa
Jeff: *right there*
Dual bottle wielder: *I'mma get this resin*
This totally felt like the Last of us sewers level. Btw, wanted to see Jeff caught by some barnacle, just to see what would happen
Finally! I arrived early to a Half Life 3 Playthrough!
Let me have this...
Let me have this lie, that I cling to...
That we may see, that glorious Lambda again...
LET ME HAVe THIS! *wailing sob*
No *Steals This*
Calm down, they're making half-life 3, there was a teaser in the post credit scene (kinda) and if they don't what I thought of is probably better anyways...
The borealis has a lemon launcher that burns down the entirety of the combine homeworld.
I love binge watching this.
When Half life made you feel like you're playing Resident Evil
It's a real pleasure to watch your playthrough, all your reactions are awesome! Each episode i'm insanely hyped for the next one.
that head shake when you realized you had to go back in the room though,
Love watching during quarantine
12:34 bruh I really felt the panic here.
Me: Having anxiety Attacks when Harry nears Jeff
Alyx: slowing walks away
Hello, glad to see you posting videos once again!
Alyx is honestly a little too casual in her encounters with Jeff, she's a great deal more confident here then we see in Episode 1 when just having a Stalker on top of her caused her to need to take a breather
lovin this series. Your little gestures are very characterful
The mannequin part at the zoo really strck a nerve.
Harry knew one was gonna fall over, but he still recoiled when it fell.
Got the creeps.
Jeff. That moment when I'd say "f that noise" and give that game to my sister to pass that level
Laugh all you want. I can't even finish fnaf 1...night 1
me too. same goes for other zombie games/modes like in call of duty and halo
How did the developers predict the future so precisely? Lockers stuffed in toilet paper, and now a tiger sanctuary.
i really like that theyve used the same sound effects throughout every half life game for the health stations and turrets and everything, like half lifes signature touch ya know.
The zoo chapter perfectly conveys the atmosphere of abandoned parts of Moscow Zoo
Jeff is literally the most terrifying thing I've ever seen.
Especially in VR.
7:23 alcoholics when they smell a drop of alcahol.
goddamn jeff is terrifying! and i thought i was scared in ravenholm in hl2!!!!!
53:13, man you gotta feel sorry for this zombie. He’s been taken over but still has his memories...
Same, he was reminiscing about some fond memories of to the zoo
Jeff is the best ever written character. So much personality! :D
Your physical reactions are the best hahahahaha
(flash backs of blastpit ensue)
49:15 you missed resin in the other cages.
afraid of another headcrab jumpscare moment
45:17 would be me. Appreciated the headbang shortly prior though!
22:15 I can just HEAR that little bastard's evil laugh as he knocks all the bottles onto the ground. Any other head crab would have just attacked you...but this one knew what was going on and decided to be an asshole
The "vegetation" gives me Dishonored 2 vibes
My God, the level design here is amazing! Nothing this good is made today! This is like something from back in the golden age of gaming. Valve still has what it takes!
I like the part where he shakes the manequins hand
The combat music from hlaf life was always legendary
"Harry, the finest mind of his generation"
And he didn't come to such an end.
i wish i could play this game right about now.
This whole game is like a travel brochure for Bulgaria, hahaha!
also can we talk about how alyx killed REAL immortal combine on that train?
30:36 I can hear Harry whispering "you fucking bitch" as he waves his finger.
I laughed so hard in vr when I saw "Jeff" floating on my screen.
Wow that animation is beautiful
My name ... 0:00
Old meme but still funny
When Jeff obliterated the door you barricaded like it was tissue paper I peed a little.
Yay part 5
Russell: The vodka is good Alyx, The vodka is good!
Harry: We'll see... about that!
12:33 it was at this moment that he knew...
Half-Life:Alyx 24/7 Playthrough,1 video at day and 1 video at night,enjoy :D
When I played this for the first time I forgot Jeff could walk through the barrier. I was turning the wheel and I look to my left and he’s right there. Terrifying shit
i have never panicked soo much watching a video
32:41 clutch moment
