When writing my comment I didn’t consider the difference in cultures... when I hear weapons in the context of the US I automatically think guns.. sorry it’s simply the worlds perception of America... no offence intended..not saying our nation is perfect .. sadly I think we actually have high stats when it comes to domestic violence.. which is sadly shameful...but most often when we hear of violent crimes , particularly domestically, weapons are usually not involved therefor , someone wishing to defend this woman here in Australia, wouldn’t consider a weapon of any kind , before jumping in.... sadly our cowards just use their hands .. sorry if you felt I was ‘coming for you’ .... just a different mindset.... when speaking with my friends in LA about idiots on the road and that I would honk my horn at soccer Mums texting on the phone, or someone acting a fool on the road ... she said she wouldn’t dare over there as she’d be scared they’d have a gun and jump out and shoot her...I’m simply saying that wouldn’t cross anyone’s mind here at all... the worse you’d get is a mouthful of abuse from a karen... again no offence intended , simply different perspectives...

What in the world was the neighbor thinking? Seeing her laying there like she's passed out and then holding her under water? The neighbors wife should've called 911 while he went out and yelled and tried to do something.....I mean that's what I would've done.... but 🤷‍♀️ guess everyone reacts differently to shock....guess no one expects their neighbor to be drowning their partner in the pool.... craziness! I feel so bad for the children and how it effected them growing up. You can see how much pain the son is still dealing with and probably will deal with for the rest of his life because of this one horrific moment in time.

What drove me crazy watching the follow up of this story tonight is this: it was explained that when approached, a sleepwalker can turn violent. If his wife approached him while he was sleepwalking working on the water heater outside, WHY DID HE HAVE A KNIFE IN HIS HAND AT THAT TIME?

  • @vitaminK1121
    @vitaminK1121 3 роки тому +53

One point that was never addressed: This guy sleepwalked as a child and young person, but seemingly did not as a married man until that fateful night. How could that be? Undoubtedly he had other stressful times in his life and marriage that might have caused him to respond similarly and could have predicted (and prevented) the actions of that night. I know the wife could likely be the only one to know that, but surely if he had been she would've shared it with family or a close friend.

    • @meggy0
      @meggy0 3 роки тому +4

I sleepwalk when I’m stressed, I have done it my whole life, and I tell everyone that I stay in the same place with because I know that I do really weird things when I do sleepwalk and I just want people to know that’s it’s not actually ‘me’. 99% of the time nothing ever happens - but I can’t risk that 1%. So I agree. And it seems very strange that either he told no one and no one ever knew, or his first time sleepwalking he killed his wife. Both seem implausible.

They lived in a idyllic quiet neighborhood and were the "perfect family"... But the neighbor saw something that weird and his reaction was not to call out asking is everything ok but quietly go back inside to call the cops? Translation, everyone knew he was off and knew to stay back and call the cops right away if something looked wrong.

I have no idea if Scott killed his wife or not. When I was 11 years old my mother told me that she woke me up from falling asleep in front of the T.V. And I got up, and walked to the car like we were going to school.
Several years later when I was in college I woke up to find that during the night I had moved a dresser from the wall.
A few years later I texted a girl I knew something really inappropriate and woke up in shock to see what it was.
All of these incidents I don’t remember. I have also awoke to being in a semi conscious state and kissing my wife in the middle of the night. I usually feel very aroused in the moment but I almost always roll back over and go back to sleep. My wife thinks it’s kinda funny.
I also have had 4 or 5 episodes of sleep paralysis in my life…. Which is terrifying but apparently common.
It’s because of these incidents, I don’t sleep with easy access to firearms. Stories like Scott’s are kinda scary for me.

I don't. I think he murdered his wife, went inside and changed clothes to make it look like he was asleep when she died (having chlorine on your clothes would be a give away when you later claim to have found your wife dead the next morning).

I believe he was tired of his wife and wanted someone in his congregation like other religious leaders who 'off' the wife.

@@Odette321 The first time I realized I was sleepwalking at the time of course I didn’t know my brother was on the couch covering from triple bypass surgery just opened up my own business single parent had a lot of my plate and I must’ve hear my brother coughing because he said I came to the top of the landing upstairs and I said honey are you OK He said and then the next thing he knew I was stumbling down the stairs like a ragdoll I woke up when I hit the first landing and then fell down another five steps . I broke my hip and my pelvis in the process I wouldn’t even go to the hospital for 24 hours because I said no I got to go to work if I didn’t suffer with this sleepwalking I probably have the same reply as you

Then Jesus said to the crowds and to his disciples: “The teachers of the law and the Pharisees sit in Moses’ seat. So you must be careful to do everything they tell you. But do not do what they do, for they do not practice what they preach. They tie up heavy, cumbersome loads and put them on other people’s shoulders, but they themselves are not willing to lift a finger to move them.
Everything they do is done for people to see: They make their phylacteries wide and the tassels on their garments long; they love the place of honor at banquets and the most important seats in the synagogues; they love to be greeted with respect in the marketplaces and to be called ‘Rabbi’ by others.
“But you are not to be called ‘Rabbi,’ for you have one Teacher, and you are all brothers. And do not call anyone on earth ‘father,’ for you have one Father, and he is in heaven. Nor are you to be called instructors, for you have one Instructor, the Messiah. The greatest among you will be your servant. For those who exalt themselves will be humbled, and those who humble themselves will be exalted".
    Matthew 23 NIV
You shall not make for yourself an image in the form of anything, in Heaven above or in the Earth beneath, or in the waters below. You shall not bow down to them or worship them, for I the Lord your God am a jealous God, punishing the children for the sin of the parents up to the third and fourth generation of those who hate me, but showing love to a thousand generations of those who love me and keep my commandments.
"If my people who are called by my name, humble themselves and pray, AND TURN FROM THEIR WICKED WAYS, I will hear from Heaven, will forgive their sins, and will heal their land."
And when you pray, do not be like the hypocrites, for they love to pray standing in the synagogues and on the street corners to be seen by others. Truly I tell you, they have received their reward in full. But when you pray, go into your room, close the door and pray to your Father, who is unseen. Then your Father, who sees what is done in secret, will reward you. And when you pray, do not keep on babbling like pagans, for they think they will be heard because of their many words. Do not be like them, for your Father knows what you need before you ask him.
This, then, is how you should pray:
    Our Father in heaven,
    hallowed be your name,
    your kingdom come,
    your will be done,
on earth as it is in heaven.
Give us today our daily bread.
    And forgive us our debts,
as we also have forgiven our debtors.
And lead us not into temptation,
but deliver us from the evil one.
For if you forgive other people when they sin against you, your heavenly Father will also forgive you. But if you do not forgive others their sins, your Father will not forgive your sins.

    These are the teachings,
The Righteousness of our Lord Jesus Christ our God.
REPENT, and start doing what is right.
If you abide my teachings, you are really my disciples; then you will know the truth, and the truth will set you free.
A time is coming and has now come, that the true worshipers will worship the Father in Spirit and Truth. God is Spirit, so his worshipers must worship in the Spirit and Truth; they are the kind of worshipers the Father seeks.
In the New Heaven and New Earth,
    only Righteousness dwells.
May the Spirit of our Lord Jesus Christ our God be with you all.
