I call bs on that mainstream explanation. There is good reason to believe that mistaken identity is unlikely in most attacks. Sharks are intelligent and observe their potential prey before attacking. The shark sees you way before an attack happens. Many cases it is likely a territorial attack, sometimes it's predation, rarely if ever it's mistaken identity. What does a confused shark look like and how can somebody know? There's a cool channel called "Sharks Happen" with great recounting and information.
Reminds me of how they say dogs have the same intelligence level as a 3 year old or something like that. I mean how would they even quantify something like that? A bunch of projections,assumptions, and assertions based on little to no facts seem to make up a lot of this pseudo science
@@noahcarver6072 same thing with the sharks don’t like the taste of humans taking point too. That’s just not how they hunt. They bite once and let the prey bleed out. Just because they don’t gobble swimmers up all at once isn’t a sign they don’t like the taste of humans it’s just a sign that they aren’t looking for a fight. Most people just happen to leave the water before they bleed out. Do these same people think that if the person stayed in the water and bled out that the sharks wouldn’t eat them?
@@darkduck3677 Yes, pseudo science and business. Attacks happen in tourist regions where they want to protect the industry. Plus, many attacks throughout the world which go unreported because they're in remote places. Think of all the coast in Africa, South and Central America, Asia and even Australia. I believe many just slip under the radar. I've read commentary from a person from Mozambique and another from South Africa saying that attacks occur that are not reported mainstream. If you dig deep enough, you'll find some gruesome attacks in the Mediterranean, mostly being hungry Great Whites devouring a swimmer.
Surfboard or not. If sharks sense you and they are hunting. They will go for at the least a test bite. There are stories of ship wreaked ppl saying while in life rafts not even being in the water physically and say that sharks stalk them for days on end..
Being an Aruban, Natalee’s case was an absolute rollercoaster that just could not be solved. The entire community pulled together going in all directions that Joran and police officials were pointing at, only to reach dead ends.
We are saddened that we still don’t know what exactly happened to Natalee but could not be more relieved to know that Joran is exactly where he should be: behind bars.
Rest in peace, Natalee. ❤️🇦🇼
I remember watching all the news reports and everything on TV about her story. It's absolutely devastating for Natalee and her family. She was never found and her family is forced to wonder what happened to their Natalee. The only good thing about this is that Joran is behind bars. And that it's amazing how everyone came together to try to find her! Rest in peace Natalee 💖

Not everyone has curtains or can afford them (didn’t sound like the case in that story). For those who cannot afford them, I guess they could use blankets instead 🤷🏻♀️

My dad died in April from cancer, so hearing about father's Day or seeing it plastered in shops has been really hard for me. I know I'm not the only one....anyway aside from the intro, thanks for another great video. I really like your voice, it is not irritating to my ears as my hearing is very sensitive. I'm estranged from both my parents so I have a similar experience on both holidays, I'm sorry for your pain. I wish I had some stellar advice on how to avoid it or how to heal but all I can say is you're not alone. I hope in some way that helps to know.
Mine passed away from cancer two almost three years ago now, you're not alone♡ i know nothing i say can really make it better, but I genuinely hope you're okay. Losing a parent is hard, but you'll get through this, I promise.

I remember when Natalie went missing. Didn’t follow the case much. So what you mentioned in this video is the most of heard. I do hope the school was somewhat responsible.
But listening got me thinking of my senior class trip. It was a Disney cruise to the Bahamas. Drinking age was 18. I had to share a room with some guys I wasn’t super close with. They had made a plan to get alcohol. I didn’t have anything to with it. I was in the room when they got busted and fortunately they said I wasn’t part of the plan. I’m just mentioning this because the teachers were super on point when it came to what was going on. Another school trip, teachers would take turns to monitor the hall of the hotel we stayed in. Hopefully people understand what I’m getting at
tbh i dont think these trips should be held. Sooooo much bad can come from it all for a little relaxation.

Hmmm the teacher's checks is exactly how my teachers checked when my school went on a school trip to Disney.
I didn't go though bc I was too poor at the time to pay the fees lol. But I overheard afterwards how they seperated rooms by gender, max 3/4 people per room (or less I am not sure) and the hallways were monitored, mostly because people complained about how annoying that was but-hey- at least they cared.
@@PoptartParasol that’s how it was for me at least if it’s overnight. 3-4 guys/or in a room. But don’t get me wrong course I wanted to drink when I went to the Bahamas. Whenever the boat would dock we had these cards that we would scan. It would register the guest was off. That’s part of how the 3 others I roomed with for caught
Even though they're adults and the drinking age is 18 where they are the school shouldn't allow them to drink they're still responsible for their students and drinking can cause them to get into trouble like what happened here. There should be restrictions on what students can do on school trips no matter their age.
My father figure passed almost a week ago now, so hearing about father's day is a little tougher this year

Frankly, since you can google the correct pronunciation of this name and get accurate results - which are different from Joel's pronunciation - I think this is actually a weak point he can improve on. German and Dutch names are often not very recognizable.

He got a new pair of black camo crocs, a pair of camo neoprene boots, and a hunting 22 caliber air pellets rifle(but it turns out he had a similar smaller one a lil less powerful so we’re takin that one back so we can get him a bigger one for Deer season 💀)

How I hate that Aaron Campbell. Poor poor Alesha that poor baby and her poor Mummy. The grandparents didn't even tell her Mum, she saw it on Facebook and was begging to know what happened to her wee girl. Story 1. Parents who left a clearly young teenage girl home alone, while they went on a 10 day Vacation to Key West. No relative staying over, no dog in the house, and no emergency plan talk w/ their daughter as she had to figure out her own. WTF!

Is it me? Plus I'm really sad that Neighbours is coming to an end because I've been watching it throughout my whole life. What's the general reaction from the normal 🇦🇺 family & friends? Neighbours is truly loved & considered one of our shows over here but it's the blooming American owned channel Channel 5 that have decided they ain't going to pay towards keeping going here as they want new original shows made by them.

I honestly think why the shark looked shocked was because it probably thought the person was a seal.
It most likely swam away because it realized that the person wasn't the object that it thought it was going after.
Or it could've been a territorial attack. Don't try to go playing around in an area you weren't invited too

As a native Dutch speaker; van der Sloot sounds so weird, sounds much more accurate to the creep though. I was 18 at the time and far as I remember Joran was pretty much condemned by the public, no one didn't believe he wasn't involved in some way, specially not after the sketchy behaviour in the car's recordings. Also just as a follow up Peter R. de Vries, the journalist who recorded him got murdered himself (in an unrelated different (and ungoing) case), gunned down in the street. Just thought to add as I often find myself perusing comments for some more interesting information. Keep up the good work, love these stories, and who knows if someone's story might save me too.
