That's not what that phrase means. It means that if customers decided that they wanted product Y instead of product X, stores would stock less of product X and more of product Y to make more sales. It's about the products customers want, not about other demands they may make.

You DO NOT do that to someone, unless you've asked 🤦‍♀️ and after the remark the person made, they've got some nerve to do that. It's also unprofessional to do that at your job, because of the fact that you don't know that person or their child, AND you don't know how they'll react. Not everyone is going to be all hunky dory about a stranger, who has already come off creepy previously making quite a dark remark toward children, would be, instead of bringing the child back to the parent, randomly had them in a cart pushing them around. Especially in this day and age, it's hard not to be overprotective over little ones. Then to threaten her at his other place of employment, yeah she's a Karen alright 🙄 he wasn't at all out of line for any of it 🤦‍♀️

Ahh I have a story myself
Very long story short this guy had cut me off on the highway, then kept breakchecking me. I pass him to get around and he proceeded to follow me to my job for 15+ miles.
Once I actually got to the outdoor mall I worked at during the time, I thought I lost him. As I’m walking in, he pulls up, tired to grab me not realizing I had video, smacked my phone out my hand and ran off
We we’re able to identify the guy by the end of the day dude to a license plate, a very clear video with his face, social media, and people working together.
Over a year later (fairly recently actually), dude went to court and was charged with multiple different things including assault & stalking.

Most of the people in these stores seem to have brought the problems on themselves. The person in the first story was totally rude, and had some strange superiority complex. Same with story #3! They had already been in trouble many times for bad behavior with customers, so that says everything. Both of them made asshole comments, or smirked, and then decided to act all offended when the person got upset. 🙄 Then you have the person in story #4.. 😬 I’ve already seen lots of comments on that one, and I completely agree. I came to the comments to see if anybody had mentioned story four and I was pleasantly surprised. I have worked retail for almost a year and a half now (I’m only 19) but my first job I worked consistently for a year. I don’t want to seem self absorbed but I am a very very VERY sweet person. I always made sure to treat my customers with respect and I had a lot of patience. Sometimes I would make a joke or make remarks that weren’t meant to be taken negatively but they were. Story four was a prime example of when people don’t know how to stop. I don’t think he should’ve been pushing her kid around cause even that would’ve made me uncomfortable, but she overreacted. I mean, I had a man try to get me fired because I didn’t know the difference between nectarines and oranges on my first day working a register by myself. People like this exist and if you work retail, do not be afraid to stand up for yourself. 7/10 your employer will understand depending on the circumstance. If they don’t, I beg you, please try to find a new job. I also understand not everyone has the luxury of just finding a new job, but NOBODY should have to come to work worried that they’re going to lose their job because someone misinterpreted what they said. It’s a sad sad world man.
