The nicer OEM case was totally savable. Hot water, Fairy Liquid and a toothbrush on the case and buttons instead of all the IPA and rough handling. Good choice on the screen though, it looks very nice. A nice change from the oversized IPS screens. We don't see enough modding with the original design these days.
Thank you for your feedback. I was upset about myself when I broke the beautiful transparent case. But that's how it is sometimes. The plastic is old and can brake really easy. I'm definitely more careful in the future when it comes to thin parts like the GBP case.
@@RetroRestoMage don't be too hard on yourself. It happens. And yes, there is definitely an element of brittle plastic in some cases - all the more need for a bit of a softer approach sometimes. Fair play to you however for showing us, you could have easily decided to make your video a case swap from the start, but didn't 👍 I subbed anyway, looking forward to the next video.
@@RetroRestoMage pretty sure the new ones are full size for the Gameboy pocket and have multiple colour palettes etc, I did the mod last week was good fun looks really nice your version is the older version from 2020
@xdeductx4424 Okay. Didn't know there were newer versions. I just needed a new screen because the original one completely broke so I ordered the first one I saw. To be honest I am not that deep in to the modding community. I have one GBP here that is also broken maybe I make another video with the newer screen. Thanks for your advice.

@gbamck Appreciate it. My goal is to be fully transparent and dont fake stuff like some other restoration channels do.
Very good video, deserves more views 🎉
I appreciate that!❤️
Great video, amazing mods and great content. You deserve the sub. Wishing you many more.
Thank you for your follow. And appreciate your feedback.♥️
This is fantastic!
Thank you for your Feedback ❤
Why did you get the crappy IPS screen instead of the new version? Yours is a lot smaller
Typically These screens are a bit smaller. But they have such a nice resolution so it doesn't really matter.
