One of the greatest underrated ballads of all time... She never got the publicity she deserved. Yet, she quietly continued to work on music that made her happy... I heard this on the radio in 2000 on adult contemporary. ❤
Paula Cole unbelievable. This wasn't marketed properly, should have been a smash hit but in any case it's an incredible song sung by par excellent Paula , one of the finest vocal performances ever.
That's my favorite song ever! Paula Cole's voice is so amazing! 💕

Having a bad bad day today, I came from work totally frustrated, depressed and helpless...until this song emerged from some deep corners of my memory. I found it here and it totally changed my mind. Thank you Paula, you made my day. This is the best song of all times, really!
The reason not that many views after all these years . Record company let her down in marketing and the people today havnt heard of her and are to numb to know great music . Paula is the real deal
Love the "Peter Jonathan" Remixes of "I Believe in Love". Amen ". (I honestly never seen the Music Video until today of: 'I Believe in Love" !!! Wow. My Go to #1 go to song on this album is "Pearl" then "Be Somebody" etc.
"Amen" is the one of the best CD's of all time. If you don't have it.. you are missing out on music that heals and uplifts. We miss you Paula... don't give up. "Rhythm of life" is amazing! "Pearl" is such a great song... She is an amazing artist. Thanks for posting this!!!!
This video was the ultimate treasure thar i found these days, i still can't believe that it even exists and passes so shy through the 90's, with that, the only hit that still doesn't have a video is ~ME~ love Paula
There is so much from this video that I love? I miss these songs that grap you on the radio and then the video perfectly captures what you picture in your mind. There's no creative angle these days. Where are you Paula?
Awesome song! Note the super high "whistle register" vocals starting around 3:49 One of the most amazing singers AND I get to see her sing tomorrow! =)
What happened to Paula Cole? She married Hassan Hakmoun, a Moroccan musician, had a daughter & went through a very difficult acrimonious divorce. Now that's it's over she has re-emerged with a wonderful CD titled "Courage." Just what she & we all need right now. Why mention her "jaw?" It hasn't hurt Leno, why should it detract from her? People are so critical of women's looks. It's voice, songwriting, musicianship, performance & delivery we're after. She's a fantastic singer, A+ all around.
i was and am a huge fan of this song (and video, now that i've seen it). the track's got soul and a universal message about the power of love, displayed through the shots of the different cultures getting down to the song. this gets my thumbs of approval, hands down.
I love this video because it says alot about people who sing (I have done this myself)it doesn't matter the size of the crowd watching or if noone is there they sing just for the love of music. At the time this album came out I was going through a very difficult time in my life and never bothered to check up on Paula's music beyond "This Fire" but this song makes me want to get the 2 albums she has done since.
Isn't amazing, that a fantastic song like this got swallowed up in all the dreck that was being played at the time of its' release? ...and now, I feel old because of how long it's been. ♫
"Amen" had some GREAT songs on it. Was always surprised it never took off the way "This Fire" did. I remember she said way back about 10 years ago that she intended to be like Tina Turner, putting out music and touring well into her 50's. I was hoping that would happen but she took a hell of a lot of time off!
Hassan Hakmoun, a Moroccan musician, was married to Cole and is dancing in this video. After a very acrimonious divorce, he still features this video on his website, noting "HASSAN HAKMOUN dancing in Paula Cole's Video." Hmmm. Someone riding on coattails? Surely he should remove promotions of himself alongside her after making her life pure h*** for so long. Go Paula! We're rooting for you! You are an inspiration to me and many others. God Bless!
Word has it that Paula had some fights with the record company during the end of the production - I never saw a video played from this album on any video channel. (she left that record company last year)- she also had a whole albums worth of songs and the label said they weren't ready 4 her yet (look for 'singing out my life' and 'my hero mr. president') Her new album is good- but very adult contemp. - and as she wrote in her myspace diary- she is a TOTALLY different person now.
jazz trained, 5 octave range + whistle register can sing opera, riff and belt just as good as any other diva. I would say shes one of the best vocalists ever (who actually means what she sings because she wrote it herself.)
Paula Cole is one of the finest vocalists ever. Her range , timbre, expression all par excellence. She wasn't in it for the glitz and glamour but for the music itself hence she didn't go off like a rocket marketing etc. Brilliant artist and a fine human being. Today's music couldn't hold a candle to Paula's talents
Well, on purpose, the song take 70's themes from Marvin Gaye's lyrics and music. She thanks Marvin in the Amen CD. I thought it was appropriate that the video had to have some 70's theme to it as well.
I think it was really popular a few years ago! Call KTU in NYC and ask if you can hear it or get a copy of it. Then post it if you get it Id love to hear it again.I never heard this slow version I only knew the dance version
If the world is actually sane this is one of those songs you should actually see over 200,000,000 viewers. But no! Because she is not talking about sex, money, power and all those bullshit that has so ruin our society!!
After 25 years, this track is still the Jam!!!! ❤🎶

100%. This could have been a smash hit. I always wondered why it wasn’t.
That's my favorite song ever! Paula Cole's voice is so amazing! 💕

The reason not that many views after all these years . Record company let her down in marketing and the people today havnt heard of her and are to numb to know great music . Paula is the real deal
I thought she hit it out of the park with this song. Absolutely love it!
I don't know why but the combination of stringed instruments and the chorus bring a tear to my eye. I love this song with my whole soul.
The bridge in this song is AWESOME!!!
Love the "Peter Jonathan" Remixes of "I Believe in Love". Amen ". (I honestly never seen the Music Video until today of: 'I Believe in Love" !!! Wow. My Go to #1 go to song on this album is "Pearl" then "Be Somebody" etc.

There is so much from this video that I love? I miss these songs that grap you on the radio and then the video perfectly captures what you picture in your mind. There's no creative angle these days. Where are you Paula?
This is an absolute banger of a song. This was one of my favorite songs out of my young adult hood. I still love it.
Paula Cole……Amazing……….Nuff said…..
Today I fall in love with “Ring Finger” song… That’s also good work… Great and mature voice!!! 💪🏼✨
Greetings from Poland
I was working at Daffy's and this played on the satellite radio. Been in love every since.
Same!!!!! I heard this song for the first time at Waldbaums 5 years ago and I raced home early to find the song on UA-cam!!!!!!
Oh, my goodness, Paula looks STUNNING in this video!! I just wish the song wasn't shortened. The instrumentation is gorgeous!!
The era of great music!!!
Man I just love this kind of beat man
I spend millions of years searching for this song. Thanks for upload it.
Awesome song! Note the super high "whistle register" vocals starting around 3:49 One of the most amazing singers AND I get to see her sing tomorrow! =)

Such an under appreciated song.

Listening in 2024.This Should have been A HIT & Promoted!!
I love this song! I get chills everytime I hear the bridge!
great 70's disco feel. surprised that it was not well received.
+Ralph Angelo Right??? This is one of Paula's best songs.
agreed. I rediscover it from time to time then binge listen...lol
For many years , music has gone to kids , with no understanding of real talent . Listen to the garbage on the radio .
gravano2 I agree. it's really not music to me or singing. it's all electronics and editing.
To me, this song is right in the same class as Barry White's "Love's Theme."

I believe in Love, to be, the Center of all things
i was and am a huge fan of this song (and video, now that i've seen it). the track's got soul and a universal message about the power of love, displayed through the shots of the different cultures getting down to the song. this gets my thumbs of approval, hands down.
Underrated genius.
Dont be sad if this doesnt have million views. Few people only have good taste in music.
I love this video because it says alot about people who sing (I have done this myself)it doesn't matter the size of the crowd watching or if noone is there they sing just for the love of music. This song hurts and heals. I still hurt from this song. She and I never came home to each other. It heals because I found true love from a dachshund.
Amongst my favorites
Isn't amazing, that a fantastic song like this got swallowed up in all the dreck that was being played at the time of its' release?

Hermosa melodía!!!

Such a beautiful song and Paula has a beautiful voice....

And now during these dreadful, and at the same time, hopeful times of 2020...!
2021
2024
I can feel she sings it deep
She sounds GREAT!
It truly was and it was way ahead of its time.
Paula may not be the best singer but when she sings SHE OWNS IT!!! This is my favorite of hers. She is an awesome song writer....
jazz trained, 5 octave range + whistle register can sing opera, riff and belt just as good as any other diva. I would say shes one of the best vocalists ever (who actually means what she sings because she wrote it herself.)
Thank you for putting bruce in his DN PLACE... Cause she is INSANE VOCALLY...

i didn't know Paula Cole could sing in the whistle register, cool
There is an awesome mix of this song from Jonathan Peters...really great song.
I think it was really popular a few years ago!
