They realised they basically went for the same theme but because Janet was already in production for the video. Rhythm Nation is a song about social injustice and coming together for a better way of living. Which is crazy because this song is still very relevant 30 years later. Which is why I assume the subscriber suggested it. I know you guys can get caught up in watching the visuals but definitely try to listen to the lyrics as well because this song is something I learned a lot from growing up. Also Michael told this sweet story about how his choreography was going in this direction and she asked him if it was okay to use his Military style ideas for this video and he told her it was okay. He ended up using those military ideas towards the latter part of the 90’s. But these two were very close growing up.
Lastly: Although all the siblings were in show business, None of the sisters were a part of the Jackson 5 group. They did have a 2 season television show where the girls were included and they would have Janet singing along with their youngest brother Randy here and there but she’s done mostly solo work from her teen years until now.

Y’all should totally react to more Janet!! She is everything !!! She and her siblings had a tv show in the 70s and she was Penny on Good times and Charlene on Different Strokes and she was on Fame. She released her first two albums in 1982 and 1984 and they weren’t successful. In 1986, she released Control and it was a mega hit album and it was really successful!!! Then came along Rhythm Nation 1814 . She has hits!!!!
Fun fact: Janet was inspired by Michael Jackson's short film (for Disneyland's old 3-D ride) called Captain EO, in which he did a military style type of dance. She went up to Mike and asked him if she can use this type of dance for her Rhythm Nation. He agreed reluctantly, but thought (playfully) "I could choke you!" lol. But they were always supportive of each other, and also teased each other. In the end, Michael was very proud of her and this music video, which became one of his favorites from her.

She basically started performing on the jackson variety show when she was 7 and then did tv shows throughout her teenage years. When she was 14 she came out with her first album and it didnt really do much for her career and neither did her second and then she came out with control in 1986 and that made her a big star and thats how she got to that point during the rhythm nation era.
Janet didn’t start out as a singer. But as a child actor doing commercials and tv shows like “Good Times” in the 1970s, and “Different Strokes”, guest appearances on “Facts of Life” in the 1980s

Years ago when Micheal Jackson was alive he showed a video of himself dancing and creating military like dance moves but he wasn’t sure where it could fit in, so it was just something he messed around with until he could find a fit to it. He showed some it to Janet it fit with her concept for Rhythm Nation so she asked him if she could use his choreography. He was a bit reluctant, but agreed, and the rest is history.

Please, Please, PLEASE do more Janet Jackson. She is legendary in her own right and carved her own lane separate from her family’s lane. Though her contributions to music are still part of the Jackson family legacy she really is her own entity. The more of Janet’s music you react to, the less of Michael you’ll see. You’ll probably forget all about Michael the more you listen to her music and watch her videos and live performances. They were pretty different.

She actually made her debut on the family variety show they had after they got popular and then she appear with them once I believe on the Sonny & Cher show in the 70’s. Love me some Janet. I am a huge fan of hers. Saw her in concert in the 90s. To be honest though as a young adult I never really listened to the lyrics. Janet being one, Rebbie was the oldest sister, then La Toya. There was a conspiracy theory for a long time that Michael was really LaToya in women’s clothes because they did look and sound alike.

Loved the review. This to me was her "Ray of Light" or "Bodyguard SOundtrack" album. You really do not hear the songs played that much anymore. But her albums tracks were everywhere! Movies, TV shows, and commercials. I've been giving my younger nieces and nephews tracks and they liked it. The most important thing when Beyonce first,came out Alaayiah had just died and Janets "All For You"had just arrvied at cd stores in 2000. Janet's entire look from that album is the look that -Beyonce, Ciara, and Rihanna styled themselves after her (I noticed it a few years ago)..She did have that much of an impact at around 2000.
