    Just got back from a backpacking trip to Lyons Lake after watching your video. It was super helpful, thanks so much. We were the only ones out there! 😊

      Was that area ever damaged by the wildfires? I am assuming you trekked out there around September/October since you had the entire place to yourself.

    I enjoy your videos in the Desolation Wilderness a lot! I lived on the north side of echo peak in Meyers on Upper Truckee Rd during my high school years....in the 60's but, never got to explore Desolation which was just a short hike away from my home. I did climb over the ridge and down to the Echo Lakes rd one time, but that was the extent of my hiking experience in the area at the time.
    Thank you for posting your adventures so we all can enjoy the majesty of the Desolation Wilderness!

    I hiked up to Lyons Lake last year. I totally missed those camping spots. Thanks for sharing! Except for the poop walk. LOL!

    Another amazing adventure! On the other side of the Cliffs of Insanity are the Slabs of Insanity going up to Mount Price from Mosquito Pass. The hike up to the ridge by Smith Lake is pretty fun but the hike down to Smith from the ridge didn't look all that pleasant. You scored a prime campsite! Thanks again for sharing.

    The grasshoppers must've been listening to the Beatles "Why don't we do it in the road". LOL

    I really enjoy your videos! I'm heading to Hemlock soon and want to disperse camp the previous night (to get an early start) near the Lyons Creek trailhead or near Lyons Creek on the other side of Wrights Lake Rd from the TH. Have you done that and/or have any thoughts on it?

    What day of the week did you start? It looks like it might get busy on weekends. And it looks fantastic... I have driven past that trailhead many times heading down from Wrights

    Great video of the lake. I am planning on heading out soon as it opens back up. Thanks for the information. I do have a question... the campsites...is it easy to find them?

    • @SacWildlife
      @SacWildlife  4 роки тому +1

      They are pretty hard to miss - the one I was at was elevated, so I suppose it's possible to miss it, but if you watched the video, you should know where they are.

      It's called Desolation Wilderness and the South Lake Tahoe Basin by Jeffrey P. Schaffer - enjoy!
