I cannot believe you dug up that old Batman shark attack. My brother and I joked for YEARS about that entire scene...30 some odd years later, we still do - AND THAT EXPLOSION! 😂😂😂 It 's AMAZING
One of my faves is the shark scene in Ace Venture Pet Detective. That "Woo, do NOT go in there." is such a classic. Also the OG jump the shark moment in Happy Days.
Yeah Bethany! I got to meet her after I lost my leg (lost it to an infection) but a resident of Oahu and a surfer myself, she told me to get back up and keep surfing.
@@philosopherorange7851maybe she has a prosthetic leg. How would you or I know? It’s none of our business. If Shandi says her meeting Bethany was positive then don’t be so negative. It’s not wanted or needed.
Yeah you Shandi! You have such a positive outlook despite what you’ve been through. I think you’re pretty amazing for overcoming an obstacle like that. ❤❤
The 1966 Batman shark did indeed explode, and it was even part of the plot. A later scene explains the criminals had actually stuffed it with explosives with the intention of blowing Batman up.
This just adds to how ridiculously funny OG Batman was. So they captured a shark, got it to eat (presumably) explosives without it spitting it back out or getting horrendously ill (the alternative is a quick surgery which is even funnier), then dumped it back in the ocean on the off chance that particular shark would get a crack at Batman even though it only did because of Robins error. 🤣🤣🤣 Gold.
I was lucky enough to be at Bethany Hamilton's first competition after her attack. She competed 10 weeks after she lost her arm. She flew to the island I live on, big island. She was amazing coming in 5th. The break was Banyans near the stone church. She tore it up. Amazing inspirational woman.
OMG I'm 61 and remember that Batman scene!! LOL Couples Retreat is hilarious and I laughed so hard during that shark scene. Freaking hilarious...dude scaring the sharks.
A good video Kris. 🦈🦈🦈🦈🦈 That poor shark in that James bond film! That's just cruel! I read in one of my shark books that a sequence of images of a diver fighting off a white shark for a movie poster was actually a drugged reef shark. There was a picture of this movie poster and as you can tell from my comments on (what) shark Wednesdays, I know my sharks so I could tell straight away that It wasn't a white shark. Again, That's just cruel! These sharks didn't deserve that! No shark does! Another shark cameo would be a scene from Into The Blue. (I didn't watch the movie. I just happened to stumble across a video clip by pure chance) When the couple being held hostage by drug smugglers fought back on there boat, the wife and one of the smugglers were fighting in the water when a shark shows up and bites the smuggler, seemingly in his junk.
Return to the Blue Lagoon (yup it’s the sequel to blue lagoon with Brooke Shields) had one of my fav shark cameos. He tries to out swim a tiger shark I’m pretty sure 😂
A cracking fun video Shark Bytes. A couple of other Bond shark cameos were in Thunderball where Connery was in the water with a tiger shark but the safety tunnel built of plexiglass wasn’t completed, the scene in For Your Eyes only on the reef where stuntman George Leech appears to actually get bitten by a shark, and Licence To Kill where again real stunt performers are in the water with sharks. Those old Bond movies were legit.
Yeah, the old Bond films were insane with some of the stuff they did. There's that one shot in Thunderball where you can tell Sean Connery is not acting because there is a real shark coming towards him & he looks terrified.
Great video Kris. The Batman one cracked me up. I was waiting for a “bam” or “pow” to come up expecting him to knock out the shark 😂😂 You’ve definitely inspired me to check out the movie The Beach. I’ve never seen it before. Sean Connery is definitely the real James Bond for me! Now that I know he was actually filming with a real and very angry Tiger shark. That’s pretty scary but now I’m also wondering about the shark? I hope they didn’t kill it? Surely they wouldn’t have if it was one that was being tracked? Do you know what happened to it? I’m going to check out Shark Night now, I’ve paused the video so I could comment and go back and click on it. I really enjoyed this one. Thanks so much Kris. 🦈❤️
On your last video I mentioned a shark cameo in the film Uranus 2324 which opened on 4 July (might not yet be out in The UK). There's a scene where the 2 lead actresses are free diving on a reef and a large hammerhead glides between them to their delight. Despite free diving being a key element in the film, it's the only shark reference, and unlike the other examples you gave, it never tries to harm anyone. Though, I suppose it was looking for some fish to harm on the reef.
As you mentioned Unbroken which was produced and directed by Angelina Jolie I remembered one shark cameo in the second Tomb Raider fillm right in the beginning of the film. After a sunken temple has been flooded and Lara was forced to retreat she encounters a shark, after cutting her arm to lure one in. She then waits for the attack, punches it in the face and uses it as a faster way to get up to the surface again. Really funny if you watch it today but my 9 year old self found it very cool back in the day 😂😂
Great video! To be fair to the duct tape looking shark props in Baywatch, me and my fellow millenials were watching Baywatch on 16" to 24" cathode ray tube televisions via TV Antenna signal, so the sharks looked believable, leaving a lot to the imagination, in that grainy, scan line occupied picture. The good old days!
The hammerhead in "Flipper" is a good one. After all, how often are hammerheads used in movies and TV? Do the mafia sharks in "A Fish Tale" count as cameos? Because if so, they are hilarious.
There's a scene in "The Perfect Storm" where the crew has baited hooks for swordfish but they end up pulling a mako shark aboard for a tense few minutes.
If you've not seen it, there's an incredible scene in season 3 of Black Sails where Flint and Silver spear a Great White. It's pretty brutal but extremely well done.
Awesome video idea! You definitely covered some good examples of shark cameos. Honestly, there are enough of them in various Bond films that you could probably do an entire video just about them. Lol

Great as always! Can you do a video about the supposed 13ft bull shark caught in Breede river in 2009? Is that length verified? Seems enormous for a bull shark?
I was out on my motorcycle riding around Wales when I came across a fellow motorcyclist with a prosthetic leg from the knee down. He was South African and once we got chatting I asked him what happened to the leg, I thought he would reply, war or accident, but no, he'd had it torn off by a shark, really wasn't ready for that reply lol
Nice video. Liked it. In another Bond film, Licence To Kill there was a scene with, I believe, a bull shark in captivity where the villian tossed whoever he wanted in the pool for the shark to have a go at...
The best James Bond story is from Thunderball. In the swimming pool scene, Bond swims up a tunnel while some sharks swim down. There was a glass wall separating the animals from the actor. But, Sean Connery says the glass didn't go all the way up, and a shark got on to his side. Look at the scene - the fear in his eyes is REAL! He got out of the water fast, and had some very stern words with the director and crew. Cheers
I'd completely forgotten that there were other Bond films with sharks! When I watched, I kept waiting for the shark scene in License to Kill, which made the biggest impression on me as a kid and had me scared of pools for years... (That movie + Jaws made me watch my back anytime I was in a body of water. It didn't matter where. Ha.)
7:21 Not just you. I thinks it's a combination of the eyes peering up out of the water and something on their head. But most sharks are quite cute anyway.
You forgot Happy Days where the original "jump the shark " phrase came from with Fonzie jumping a shark on his motorcycle. That was the last series they ever made.
The show went on for six more seasons after it "jumped the shark". The shark jumping was in season 5 and early in it. Show had 11 seasons, including more where it was the #1 show... and a spin-off based on an episode from later in season 5. So nope, neither the last season nor the last series. Still, it's a handy phrase, but not overall as accurate as "nuked the fridge" for something going too far and beginning its decline. Oh, and for added fun, Winkler's character in Arrested Development also jumped the shark in season 2 of that show.

There was a movie based on the Roberson family shipwreak by Orca Whales 1970s and spent 38 days on the ocean called Survive the Savage Sea. It was TV movie from 1992. They were on lift boats and one of the boat floated away from the group. I think the father jumped in to get the boat and was nearly attack by a shark in that one scene. I don't know what type it was? It was decades ago since I've last watched it. The Baywatch scene with the rubber shark was something. That was cheap scene they put that footage in there with the Grey Nurse Shark. I remember watching a video where someone used a footage of a Grey Nurse Shark just minding its own business to somewhere as the narrative called it a Great White and said it was on a hunt for humans to eat. 😂 The people who made that video didn't do much research on shark types.

Looks like mainly tigers, but would be interested to know the species used.Tigers might make sense for the Bahamas.
I guess 'Open Water' doesn't count, but it was easily one of the scariest movies I ever saw, even after watching the behind the scenes footage of how they got the sharks to shark.
although Shark Boy from Shark Boy and Lava girl has direct connections to sharks, i would still put the scene where a shark pops out of the water and says "hey" at least in the top 5, but that's just me

Connery's surprise when the shark swims past him was real... It was meant to be behind a perspex screen but it got onto the same side as Connery. They kept it because his reaction was so convincing!
"The last flight of Noah's Ark" from 1980. I don't remember the whole plot but 4 people have to take an emergency landing with a Boeing B-29 Superfortress next to an island somewhere in the ocean. They end up making it into a sailboat to get back to civilization and on the way they encounter a shark. I remember that scene really sticking with me when I saw it for the first time as a kid (which was at some point in the early 90s), and just about 2 years ago I remembered it out of nowhere and had to just find out its name and all to be able to find and watch it again :) Edit ALSO: That Bond scene with a real Tiger Shark is insane!
