Hahaha great vid as always mate. Spearo's please don't drive around me to palm a shark off. I love you all lol.
When people tell me I'm crazy for diving in sharky waters. I always tell them to go watch some of Tim McDonald's videos and then come back! LOL Great video! 🤙
@@Spearfishing-Downunderhave you heard about these new sharkstop wetsuits? Made of a sort of kevlar material to stop/reduce the teeth getting through the wetsuit.
Would you consider getting one?
@@liammorgans7329 I haven’t heard of them but if they are workable I’d definitely look at it
@@Spearfishing-Downunder there’s apparently studies done on them etc, you can find stuff on it on yt and on their website
Theres another company as well that does something similar but sort of looks even better but i cant remember the name of it right now.
Anyhoo, ive just subscribed to your channel 🤙
Best part was Brian talking about the Instagramers....."cant wait for it to go wrong." LMAO
Boys, the end of the video was a good laugh 😂 - some wild experiences there guys. Love it.
We always have a good laugh, definitely some wild times with the sharks in our waters here!!
Love it fellas. Cracks me up the whole ‘just put your hand on its nose’! 🤣 I used to spear off Port Lincoln. No way that’s gonna work down there. 🤙🏼 keep up the wicked content.
Awesome video and balls of steel.
Awesome video and very useful information for divers not used to sharks. Very triggering!!!!
7:10 looked like a decent red, bottom of screen! Great video aa usual and a real treat to get another one so soon
No the red was a bit small, yeah putting 2 out so soon was a big push for us editing wise. But we have so much content
Glad everyone is enjoying it 😊
Just awesome how you guy's operate safely with jaws swimming around you, keeping a cool head and dominating, love your Chanel Tim.
@@Spearfishing-Downunder Would it make any difference if you were fishing with great whites swimming around you ?😮
@@OHW313 big whites are just a whole different animal!
The only ones I’ve seen haven’t been very aggressive fortunately
Came in checked me out and left
Show me the attack Spearo, I hear only stories mate !! 😂😂😂
most important tip...leave the sharks by the line fishermen..😂😂😂 Aus and Florida divers have it the hardest with those sharks😢
Definitely we do it tough, here in Aus sharks are also making it so tough for Linos
😂😂Love the banter😂😂
You could include me out! Too gnarly!
YOU GUYS ARE CRAZY ASF
"Stupid IS as Stupid DOES
'- forrest Gump!
Spearing is fishing ? I would say it’s the other way around 😂
Some scary content there!Fish rock at SWR always feels like the moment you pull the trigger your going to have bull sharks all over you.Gotta say all my scary shark encounters have been when I’m not wearing shark shield device..
Definitely shark shields seem to help but make diving deeper a bit tough
I’m from The Bahamas & anytime I enter the water bull sharks are my #1 concern. THE most unpredictable sharks in the ocean. They’ll go 0-100 in a split second with NO warning or provocation 🇧🇸 🦈
Sick vid! Not sure why but this one didn’t actually pop up in my subscribed video list, only saw it was up on the home page 😅
Brings back great memories of my youth. Be careful boys you'll can only get away with repeat spearing around sharks for so long until the inevitable happens.
Spearfishing and sharks go hand in hand here in Aus and the problem is just getting worse. Not a lot you can do about with current fisheries policy.
@@Spearfishing-Downunder luckily for my generation we had explosive heads. My mate made them on a lathe. I hated killing sharks but it became neccessary a couple of times, one can only push the envelop so far. Anyway stay safe, you don't have to risk your lives to make great content,
My dad was followed by a great white all the way to shore while spear fishing
Boaah...U re crazy guys 😂😂😂😂
Awesome video 😮 I’m glad we don’t have sharks like that in the UK… phew 😅
Love ya work Timmy!!
@@Spearfishing-Downunder hey Tim I’m just curious mate.. how long can you hold your breath under water?
@@boriskohnson3006 never really tried to do maximum breathe holds, spearfishing like this try to dive within myself
Hey Tim, any chance of showing us what sharks look like on the sounder - to help decide whether it’s worth fishing at a spot when we first pull up ???
Beautiful dive, and impressive considering the ascent rate is under threat! Haha. Greetings from faraway Greece. Hit me up if you guys ever come hunting here
Hi mate I am scared off shark should I by a shark Shields , as professional spear fishermen I like to know your opinion on shark shield and if I should buy one ?
Hey mate
I’m not a big fan myself, but it may give you really good piece of mind.
G'day Tim
Love ya channel an efforts mate, its A1!
Just wondering how the blue grouper is an invasive species?
Im in the south west of Aus (Busselton) an there a targeted fish. From what i know as a fisho/diver they aren't found in the warmer waters. Are they the same fish we get here?
Cheers mate,
Sorry the invasive species statement was a joke. They are the state aquatic emblem of NSW and protected there. But not in QLD was just a joke
@Spearfishing-Downunder
Ahhhhhhh lol 😆
There protected in quite a few places here too.
Not the best eating anyway, we normally let them swim by
Hi guys I’m moving out soon to aus n am trying to invent something for spearo’s , is there a false clicker? A blue tooth speaker on a line , that can be thrown at distance away from the boat ? I seen the bit where u said someone pulled the trigger, n they all turned and swam in that direction, it wouldn’t get rid of them but certainly would buy time
Sea is so beautiful.
I stopped spear fishing in 97 when a 2 meter croc went past me in the ocean .....I would NEVER get in the water now days to spear , i may pick up a few crays though :D
I feel like if you're spear fishing you Should carry a knife that's tether to you so just in case things get swirly u could have some shark fin soup 😂
het tim, what spears do u run generally?
90% or the time Riffe spears but sometime Rob Allen because big reefies bend the stainless
Wouldn't have been an issue in the 80s, when you could buy powerheads over the counter. 😁
Are these sharks usually "going" for humans ? I always wonder if for example a great white sees you if hes going to go after you necessarily ?
They never Go for Humans, they are Just curious what you are. I See so many mistakes Made in These Videos, Like Attention in Fish instead of the shark, swimming away instead of towards the shark, Poking their gills and potentionally hurting their blood vessels for No reason..
Awesome vid. Again 😃
Just a quick one I’ve got the exact same riffe gun set up with reel. I noticed on a lot of your guns you’re connecting the reel line straight to your shaft. Do you find this better or worse than mono? especially when it comes to muzzle wraps? is there any difference or are you just being lazy😂😂
Keep up the awesome vids
I think mono is a weak point personally
I prefer straight to the shaft… maybe a bit lazy 😂🤣😂🤣
cool, cool
why is you wont dive with a product like “the shark shield” to keep the sharks off you and your catch?
@@Spearfishing-Downunder thanks for the response…..ok that makes sense. just an idea: you could tie one off to a surface buoy turn it on and have some protection at the surface enjoy your videos want to see more ….stay safe and happy hunting
hey fellas fly into Adelaide and I'll take you to some spear fishing spots that are real sharky and it's white pointers. Would you do it?
Shark wanted that rope cut off, tough shit I guess
I would NOT dip my pinky toe in ANY water located in Australia or South Africa!!
No way!! 😱😱😱
Yes we definitely have lots of sharks here and probably going to get worse and worse
Hey Tim, do you have any experiences with great whites? Would love to see a video with your experiences with them.
Hey mate, I’ve had 3 white encounters. All 3 I didn’t get on film! Can’t believe in all my diving I’ve only seen 3. I wonder how many have seen me!!
If spearfishing is cheating, then hunting with a bow and arrow isn't hunting, and fishing with a pole should just be called waiting.
Two precursor signs of attack intentions with sharks are pectoral fins angled down &/or circling. I was spearfishing in the South Coral Sea @ Saumarez & had a large Blue Spot Trout (10kg) tethered to my fish float. A Great Hammerhead (Sphyrna Mokarran) that reach a length of 6 meters was @ 3X my length 5 meters; the eyeball was as large as a golf ball; attacked the fish on the float. It pulled a 1.5 meter float ½ way down the water column, (15 meters). It then circled & came in @ me & I fended it off with my gun. It pulled the back out of the float. Always rotating & keeping an eye on it, it came in again & I hit it hard just below its hammer with the spear tip. It took off & as I back peddled towards the decky in the dory whose yelling out “get in the boat”; I did a back flip into the boat. ALWAYS keep your eyes on the shark!
If you're just diving with one buddy, why don't you wait for them to get their fish in the boat and be ready to help you before you spear something?
Yeah probably a really good idea, just do 100 dives a day and suddenly goes wrong
I thought Blue Groper where endemic to Queensland ?
Yeah they are sorry was a tongue in cheek joke because they are the state fish of NSW 😂
@@Spearfishing-Downunder - I have just come back to Australia after being on three months pilgrimage (Camino Frances) to find a complete ban on all forms of fishing for blue Groper in NSW - because two incidents where blokes broke the existing laws (served perfectly since 1967) and speared blue groper in NSW. Apparently it’s also the same in Victoria, which was used to justify the complete ban. When I looked at the regs for Queensland to see where they are legal targets to spear, I could find ZERO mention of Blue Groper in the QLD regs !!! What gives ???
@TrailerYacht they are a legal fish to spear in qld. Most likely because southern qld is the absolute limit of their range anyways. I find there to be quite a lot at moreton but relatively rare on sunny coast and never seen any north of noosa. Most of our fisheries inspectors think they are a type of parrotfish 😄. Very interesting to see how they act in qld, whilst still dumb you certainly cannot pet them like in nsw
A 'mong' mouth? Really? Did you really say that?
@@darrylwalker1867 sorry must be a meaning to Mong that I don’t know?
@@Spearfishing-Downunder it is short for Mongoloid. That is the original term for Downs Syndrome. Great job.
