An interesting test - the Ace Pro looked to be really good in your earlier low-light trials, but clearly couldn't match the Pocket 3 here.. The Pocket 3 is a great successor to the really strong Pocket 2
Mike the reason it did bad here, no street light or any light sources. It needs some light to work. You can clearly see the bigger sensor on the pocket 3. Thanks for watching 😀
i think the pocket 3 is much better in low-light. I also bought it from own money and I think it is very good. What i dont´t like on the Ace Pro is the normal color-profile. Nobody talks about the red faces all Reviewers have. GoRro got a lot of criticsn for their not looking natural colors. I think Osmo Action 4 has the more natural looking colors. You can use an external Mike without buying a Mikejack. And you can exchange the protection lens. These are the reasons why I would buy Action. In the monent I´m using Insta 360 RS. The Low-Light Performance is not very good.
Well it's DJI so the quality is great, but I handle it with care. It's not near an action camera. So yes I'm baby-ing it more then an action camera. Thanks for checking out my small channel 😀
They're both good, actually, and aside that the Ace tally light was left on and the white balance is off, both would clean up nice in post. The DJI is taking full advantage of a wider iso range and the mechanical gimbal, but lets the sky and snow approach blow out more than the Ace. The night looks like day that iso 16000 is assisting isn't to my liking, but I do like that it brings you as the subject out very well. The Ace is limited, respectively, to a lower iso, which darkens up things a bit SOOC. The background is more natural for a dark setting on the Ace, IMO. I bit of post magic would probably make the Ace represent better. The Pocket 3 is not weather protected at all, which is a concern for my use. Nice video. I have the R and RS predecessors to the Ace and am considering either the Ace or Pocket 3. Haven't made up my mind.
Hi 😀, thanks for watching. My fault in the white balance, I made a mistake locking it. The ace pro is a good camera, the record light was annoying. Is it possible to turn off?. As an action camera the ace pro is good, but if I should choose one action camera. I would buy the action 4. The pocket 3 is excellent, but not waterproof. And that's a bug deal if you want a camera for all use.
Sorry but there is something's fundamentally wrong with your settings of your Ace Pro not to mention the white balance.. that camera shoots ALL COLORS, not just green! Give me a break.
You could be right, I did something wrong by setting the white balance a little earlier that day. But they are set exactly the same. I'm gonna do a new test 👍. Thanks for watching 😀
I know that pure video mode is low light mode on the Ace Pro. I had the wrong WB on this test. Thanks for the tip, will test it. But the pocket 3 with a larger sensor will still give a cleaner image than the Ace Pro. Thanks for watching 😀
Oh yah, hands down the pocket 3 for sure, that's a beautiful camera. Isn't the sensor size even bigger on the pocket 3 compared to the Ace Pro. The last test, was that using PureVideo?
The pocket 3 is the king, but it's a completely different camera and more expensive. The pocket 3 has a 1 inch sensor and the ace pro 1 1/3. So the pocket 3 has a much bigger sensor. Thanks for watching 😀
I watched evry youtuber on the ace pro and i can say 95% of em are full of shit saying how good it is they clearly got cam given to them for free. It looks like junk So thankyou your vid has made my desision too go with pocket 3 I have pocket 1 and still love that cam....THNKYOU LOADS ITS DGI PRODUCTS FOR ME FOR LIFE. Great video mate.
I'm glad this video helped, I'm not sponsored or bought so I can say what I want. The pocket 3 is way better, I also have the pocket 1. Excellent camera 👍. Thanks for watching and thanks for the honest comment. Have a nice day 😀 👍
Yeah why not 🤔. Many people think of the pocket 3 vs ace pro. Maybe it's possible to use an action cam as a vlogging camera. Just wanted to show the difference. Thanks for watching 😀
Interesting. I've seen people use the insta360 Ace Pro with far less light than you had yet they got far better results. I'm not putting the low light capabilities of the DJI down, I think It's great. I'm just a bit confused with your results.
Well, I see what you mean, but this is the result you get when you shoot in such lighting conditions. I filmed both in normal mode and pure video mode. There is no doubt that the Dji Pocket 3 is much better, but I expected that too. Thanks for watching😀
@@EspenJohan thanks for the review. I'll probably end up with both anyway. There are too many situations where I can't use the DJI but when I can it's a great camera.
Greetings Johan. The OSMO Pocket 3 is the clear low light winner in these tests. However, both cameras are yielding out of focus results on your face in low light. The Pocket 3 seems to be hunting for focus allot ? I think this is simply an internal focus setting issue in the menu ? You should have a choice in the Pocket 3 menu to set single focus or constant focus mode ? You will probably get better results in low light if you set the focus mode to "single focus" mode. This way, the camera will find focus one time, then lock off the focus as long as you don't drastically change the distance between your camera and your face. Also, be sure both cameras have the very latest firmware updates installed. I know for a fact with my OG OSMO Pocket that when I first got the camera the focus accuracy was off, and with each firmware update the focus accuracy improved to the point of perfection by the last firmware update. This may also be the case for the AcePro ?
Hi 😀, thanks for watching. And yes the clear winner is the pocket 3, and that was expected. And when it comes to focus you are right, the setting is set to Continuous focus mode. I should use single focus. Thanks for all the tips it really helps. Have a wonderful day😀
The 11 minute mark shows me all I need to see. The insta360 is flickering when faced at you and you turn it 180 degrees. Color in the insta360 is red-ish (flickering different shades) but still red.. also as I would expect, the pocket 3 blows it out of the water with stabilization when running. I don’t think these 2 are on the same level.. I’d like to see it compared to other gimbal cameras, not action cameras..
Yeah I agree with you, the pocket 3 is on another level. And as expected, but I did this test because the ace pro is supposed to be brilliant in low light. It's not bad, but the pocket 3 is way better. Thanks for watching 😀
You need to use the low light modes. 😉 Then you get not so clear winner. But you are right with them what you say that the pocket3 is better for a very dark video. Only a few lights are enough for good results
The way to enable low light mode on ace pro is using purevideo, looks like youve not enabled pure video, the image is way off even the color, the snow should be pure white😂😂😂 Try watching other reviews, you have blue snow lol
@@EspenJohan your video was lock dark, the iso should have boosted the video it remained so dark aside from blue snow, when the settings are right it should boost the image lighter than that as if you locked iso too, ace peo auto wouldn't stay that dark, looks like lockef iso.
Pocket 3 is definitely better but Not an action camera. More for vlogging. If you do rough sports (eg biking, skiing, airsoft, etc) ace pro will be better. If travel vlogs, pocket 3 might be better
What a bias test for DJI you must be sponsored 😂. The annoying red flashing light can be turned off in settings and why did you not use the Pure video mode on the Ace Pro as it would blow the AC4 into the distance. Im done with this channel totally rubbish. The clear low light winner is the Ace Pro and you know it

What low light mode in the ace pro, the way to enable low light on ace pro is using pure video settings! 😮
@@jbx907 that's correct, low light mode on the ace pro is pure video mode.
Thank you for the very useful comparison.
Thank you for watching 😀 and I'm glad you like it👍
Excellent comparison, low light capabilities 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻
Thank you 😀
How do you feel about the durability of the pocket 3? Do you find yourself baby-ing the P3 more than you do action cams?
Well it's DJI so the quality is great, but I handle it with care. It's not near an action camera. So yes I'm baby-ing it more then an action camera. Thanks for checking out my small channel 😀
TWo different functions. One is an action camera and the other is a vlogging camera. You want durability, get the Ace Pro
Great video! Quick question...does the horizon lock setting work when using pure video mode with the ace pro?
Hi 😀, thanks for watching. That's a good question, I need to check and test that.
@@EspenJohan thanks, please let me know soonest
He didn't use the pure video mode otherwise the ace pro would have won lol
great comparison ! if pocket 3 has any sealing, it would be perfect. even ace pro has AI cpu WB is really off.
Thank you 😀, would be awesome if pocket 3 was weather sealed 👍
Low light mode = pure video mode?
Yes that's right 👍, thanks for watching 😀
Do you have a problem with a magnetic mount, Are the magnetic mount stick firmly?
Well the action 4 has a better magnetic mount then ace pro. Thanks for watching 😀
I bought an Ace pro and the The camera came off the magnetic mount when I did a little shake
