I don't live in or am even considering moving to Austin but I love your channel! The amount I've learned about houses, developments, neighborhoods, new builds, etc. from here is crazy. Keep it going, Ray!
I moved from the Rio Grande Valley to goodnight Commons within the past two weeks and I see myself staying in the area for the long haul. I'm already eyeing some houses right across the street!
Question, I was looking in that area, how is the noise at goodnight commons? The only reason why I ask is because the apt I live at now there is no privacy, they mind as well remove the doors because you can hear everything.
@@noir_nerd there are a few cars that come through playing music obnoxiously loud and there is the occasional party which gets loud later in the night but nothing unbearable just annoying at times. I haven't had any problems with privacy though
Im interested in purchasing a home in this community but the website didn’t have any ranges for pricing. Thinking single family home. Do you have more info?
I hear the surrounding areas are "ghetto" and that there's a prison in South Austin. Do you think that makes a difference in appeal or safety? Any truth to it? I'm from California and we want to move to Austin.
Hi Jennifer, I have lived in Austin for 5 years and wanted to provide some insight. South east Austin used to be considered the ghetto. Some, might still say it is. However, that’s because they don’t pay attention to all that is being built. If you drive over there and past some of these new builds (Good night Ranch / Easton Park) you will see how beautiful of a community it is becoming. It is essentially, the most & last affordable area in Austin to get a larger home but still be 15 min from downtown... that is hard to beat for how large of a home you can get. Lots of people have been moving here from California. Our neighbor who has not moved in yet is actually from there as well. I would suggest looking at crime “heat maps” for Austin. You will essentially see that crime is everywhere when your close to downtown. The muller area used to not be as nice as it is (old Austin airport location) until a developer built it out. Now it is very nice but also still has pockets of crime - it just got pushed out a bit with the development. I would still say that I feel less comfortable walking around muller at night (just off 35 / main highway) and more safe walking through goodnight ranch or Easton park, which has formed it own little pocket of community. Also, from what I have heard most crime in these newer areas is mainly ‘porch pirates’ rather than any serious crimes.
Nah this ain't the ghetto lol. I come from a region that had lots of mexican cartel activity and this area (slaughter lane eastside) is quiet and no one bothers you. I wouldn't recommend walking alone at night here or anywhere in the world but I have not once felt unsafe in my neighborhood (goodnight commons).
I live and love the Goodnight Ranch - lots of new developments and great location overall

Annoying.
Why would a Karen take time writing a comment like this?
