EXCUSE ME GHOSTS OF THE SHADOW WHAT??? this is my first time hearing about this new cassie short story YOU ARE RIGHT WHY IS NO ONE TALKING ABOUT THIS?!?
My most anticipated book is Obsidio by Amie Kaufman and Jay Kristoff. Which is the third book in the Illuminae Files series and it comes out on March 13 and I can't wait!!
Hi Emma, it's teeny bit over a year that I subscribed to your channel and you are really putting up great content and your desire to strive for mental health awareness is something that makes you unique. Since you were a part of my 2k17,felt like sharing my views, Thank you and cheers to 2018 ahead!
Queen of Air and Darkness is actually my most anticipated, even though Lord of Shadows wrecked me! Lord of Shadows was my favorite book this year, and I NEED the conclusion to the trilogy. I'm sad I have to wait SO long!!!
That mustard yellow is just beautiful on you! I hadn’t heard of a lot of these, surprisingly! I’ve got to pick up ace of shades right away! I love videos like this so much that I’ve began to do monthly releases I’m excited for on my channel!
I’m excited for “Obsidio” which is the third book to the Illuminae files series, “Leah On the Off Beat,” the second book to the gentleman’s guide to vice and virtue, and the new book by Angie Thomas that you mentioned!
Legendary by Stephanie Garber (Sequel to Caraval) A Court of Frost and Starlight by Sarah J Maas (4th in the A Court of Thorns and Roses Series.) Beneath the Sugar Sky by Seanan McQuire (3rd book in the Wayward Children's Series.)
I am super hyped for Love, Hate and Other Filters because I am a Muslim girl- and I rarely see any representation of Muslim people in books nowadays. Hopefully it ends up being a good one. Anyway, you look pretty as usual- keep up the awesome job :D
TheGreedyRiceball Me, too!!! As a fellow Muslim girl, I am so hyped for books with Muslim representation. I liked Saints and Misfits and I can't wait to read Samira Ahmed's new book. I am also writing a fantasy novel with a Muslim inspired character who wears hijab and want to get it published one day, In Shaa Allah
The books that I'm excited for are: "War Storm" by Victoria Aveyard (fourth and final book) in the "Red Queen" series, "Queen of Air and Darkness" by Cassandra Clare, and "The Fates Divide" by Veronica Roth (second and last book) in the "Carve the Mark" duology. :) #Ready #NotReadyforFinales #ShadowhuntersUnite #2018
Had not heard about Ghosts of the Shadow Market AT ALL!! So glad you mentioned it, have added it to my TBR 😄 What If It's Us is one I'm most excited for too - could there be a better author combo?? I'm super excited for The Lady's Guide to Petticoats and Piracy as well, and Mackenzi Lee also has a non fiction book called Bygone Badass Broads coming out, as well as a story in an LGBTQ+ anthology called All Out :)
Because you love the shadowhunters books so much, I'm curious, do you watch/like the show at all? Also, this video got me so excited for reading in 2018! Xoxo
omg I love the show too much thats what got me to start reading because I loved the show and the movie and found out there was a book series and I read and loved them sm
This is great I am excited for some of these books myself but I wish there was more non YA books on your list, I am getting tired of YA and want to read more outside it but somehow it is really hard to find any info on new releases :/
i'd recommend checking out booktubers who read more adult books! i primarily read ya and i really only delve into adult with psychological thrillers, but i'm more focused on reading the ones already on my tbr that i've missed out on over the last few years of releases.
i always love these end of the year videos, especially yours! i'm soooo excited for all those books!! and my hopes for queen of air and darkness are up so high aaaaaa
girl, I love this video! I'm so hyped for the new books coming out next year! I think right now, my most anticipated book is Restore Me by Tahereh Mafi!!
How did I not know about Cassandra’s Clare’s new novella stories!? THAT INVOLVE JEM AND TESSA AND MATTHEW AND JACE AHHH. You’re an angel Emma thank you so much for the rec :)
I love all of the suggestions in this video, I hope I can find them in book stores! I am also looking forward to queen of air and darkness, also a red for you, have you ver read the talon series? It follows a young dragon girl navigating the rights and wrongs of the world, I really enjoy it and I think you would to!
Congrats on 100K, EMMA!!! The Cruel Prince is one of my most anticipated books too. I was wondering WHO was called "The Faerie Queen", since I saw one of her books potentially being featured on a certain bookish box for January ;) I really hope you love Zenith because I love Sasha and Lindsay and I really hope I fall in love with their book. RESTORE ME YASSS!!!! I can't believe we will have more of Jem Carstairs! That short story novella will be amazing. I'm going wild too lol!!!
Are you excited about A Court of Frost and Starlight? I am sooo stoked for that book. Also about The Prophecy by Jennifer L Armentrout. Out of curiosity, have you read any of her books? I really enjoy her stories, characters and plots. Albeit, they’re all somewhat similar -writing and character wise- but fun nonetheless 😄
Great list. It's funny how 2017 was such a bookish year for me. And I already have tbr set up for 2018. On New year, I want to thank you Emma because you have affected my reading habit very positively. I really love your videos and now I am also a Shadowhunters fan.. I am determined to read all the books in the Shadowhunters Chronicles..I know I'm really late, but I am catching up real fast. I hope that you have a great year and you receive love and happiness.. take care and stay happy 😁
Omg Emma please read The Cruel Prince soon! I just finished it in 2 days and it’s amazing!!!!!!! The character development is breathtaking and the plot twists tho!!! I loved the storyline!!
I'm absolutely so excited for Leah on the Off Beat by Becky Albertalli!! I'm also excited for What if it's Us by Becky Albertalli and Adam Silvera, and Love, Hate, and Other Filters! I'm so excited to get my hands on these and all of these new releases sound so good that I'm drowning in my TBR XD
Awesome video, Emma. Definitely Restore Me is on the top of my list. I love Shatter Me and so excited we're getting more books. And also: Catwoman Souleater by Sarah J Maas which comes out in August and NEED IN MY HANDS. A Court of Frost and Starlight The 7th Throne of Glass book which I know will destory me The 2nd book in the Strange the Dreamer duology-if you haven't read it yet, HIGHLY HIGHLY recommend you do. The main character is such a sweetheart and just reminds people why reading is so awesome
I love the excitement of a new year and new books! :) I had no idea CC was doing another short story collection and now I can't wait! I love Jem and I really enjoyed Tales From the Shadowhunter Academy. My most anticipated is the third book in the Ravenspire series (an amazing fairytale retelling series)!
I got a email about the son of the dawn coming out and can’t wait!!! I love all of the books from Cassandra Clare as well and always read whatever the new book is as soon as I get my hands on it no more what is waiting in my TBR. I’m glad you mentioned this book in this video❤️
your room is so festive i vote you keep it year-round love hate & other filters sounds incredible I'm so ready "to quote wizards of waverly place" gET OUT loved this!!
I am a bit skeptical of heretics anonymous. I challenged Christianity a lot when I was younger (from a Buddhist background) but then I read "The case for Christ" by Lee Strobel and had amazing mentors and friends answer my tough questions. That is a very brief summary of my journey to becoming a Christian. I am a believer now and although I don't shy away from tough questions, I feel a lot of books paint Christians in a negative light which is an unfair representation of all the brave, loving and embracing Christians I know. I can't wait for an in-depth review in 2018 to see if Christianity is ridiculed and/or attacked or if any objections are done in an intellectual, sensitive and tasteful manner. P.S Love your authenticity and your channel.
My Most Anticipated releases of 2018: The Way You Make Me Feel by Maurene Goo Bring Me Their Hearts by Sara Wolf The Astonishing Color of After by Emily X.R Pan My So-Called Bollywood Life by Nisha Sharma The Serpent’s Secret by Sayantani DasGupta The Favorite Sister by Jessica Knoll The English Wife by Lauren Willig The Hazel Wood by Melissa Albert Zenith by Sasha Alsberg and Lindsey Cummings The Cruel Prince by Holly Black To Kill a Kingdom by Alexandra Christo American Panda by Gloria Chao Heart of Iron by Ashley Posten
Books on my shelf I haven't read, books I want to buy that I haven't read, and now a bunch of books coming out next year I want to get. IT'S TOO MUCH! Great video!
Great video! I'm definitely going to be adding to my TBR! I just applied for the ARC of This Heart of Mine by C.C. Hunter about a girl who gets a heart transplant after the supposed suicide of a boy in her class, but then she starts having dreams about what really happened. I'm also REALLY excited for Reign of the Fallen by Sarah Glenn Marsh about a necromancer named Odessa that raises the nobility back from the dead by retrieving their souls from the Deadlands, but with a catch. The dead have to remain shrouded or they become a zombie like monster called a Shade. Shade attacks around the city start to increase and Odessa realizes that someone is intentionally creating Shades.
I was so surprised with the end of Lord of Shadows!! I can’t wait for QoAD to see how the characters react to what happened and what will happen! Have you seen Christine’s theory videos? The theory about Sebastian’s child being the weapon and being trapped in the unseelie Court is my favorite!
Hopefully, he won't be a jerk because I feel like a lot of atheist characters are jerks to anyone who believes and condescending and that isn't what all atheists are like. It sounds like the author won't go the traditional road in making him a villain.
hope you enjoy!!! from the vibes of the synopsis, i feel he is just a teen forced into a situation he doesn't want to be in because his family moved. i hope he will not be villainous - it seems like a very openminded book!
What with the paganism and Judaism as well in the Heretics Anonymous, it does seem like it will be open-minded. I don't think I've read anything with a character who practices paganism and I'm excited to learn more about it :)
As a catholic I can't wait to read Heretics Anonymous! I do have a few things I disagree with the church and feel like I can definitely relate to. I am a senior at a catholic high school and definitely have atheist friends! Sure excited to read it:))
These all sound like great books! I haven't even heard mention of the Ghosts of the Shadow Market collection until this video but I am SOOO READY FOR IT! BRING IT ON CASSIE, I AM HERE.
Ok, so hi, I'm Mya and I've been watching your videos for a long time and continues to be inspired by your love for Cassandra Clare's books and I really want to read them and get into the world. My problem comes in that I keep trying to read City of Bones but can't seem to make myself finish it. Is there another place I can start without being confused and still fall in love with it like I know I can?
I’m so excited for so many of these books!! Ahhh, I’ll have to make a video talking about my anticipated releases soon. (SO EXCITED FOR QUEEN OF AIR AND DARKNESS)
I was never really interested in reading the Shadohunter series, but you've talked it up so much on your channel that I finally decided to put it on my 2018 TBR... Is Queen of Air and Darkness the last in the series? I mean last last, like there's nothing after it?
nope! we still have the last hours trilogy and the wicked powers trilogy and the eldest curses series and most likely more novellas aahahha we still have a lot to go!
The Cruel Prince is at the top of my most anticipated books! I preordered it and it should be arriving any day now! I'm also really excited for Love, Hate, and other Filters, and Ace of Shades. I'm really hoping I can make it to the Nice Try Jane Sinner event in NYC :D Not on this list, but I'm also really looking forward to The Exact Opposite of Okay by Laura Steven and Children of Blood and Bone by Tomi Adeyeymi. So often as a reader I feel like I get caught up in hype way too easily, so in 2018 I really want to focus on reading more books that I find on my own without the hype, and make a conscious effort to both read more diversely and to read more books that challenge our society.
I'm very excited about The Exact Opposite of Okay, by Laura Steven. Sounds awesome. The Wicked Deep, by Shea Ernshaw, sounds interesting too. And Catwoman: Soulstealer, which will be my first Sarah J. Maas book.
LittleBig Reader how many books r there in that series now? And does it get better? I read the first one and it was okay but im hesitant to continue lol
I'm so excited for Queen of Air and Darkness! At the YALLFest keynote where we saw the cover and release date, I literally freaked out! It's beautiful and I can't wait for December.
I'm looking forward to An Absolutely Remarkable Thing by Hank Green, even though we don't know much at this point it sounds quite interesting - right now it says to be released in 2018 - so I assume it'll be coming out at the end of next year.
Excellent video, and some interesting releases that I'm looking forward to now!! Mainly Neverworld Wake and Heretics Anonymous. I'm not usually aware of what's being released throughout the year and usually find out close to, or after the release date. Probably what I'm most looking forward to being released over the year, that actually started releasing in November this year, is Doomsday Clock which is a 12 issue comic series being released over the span of the year by DC Comics. What it is is it's basically the big crossover event between the characters of Watchmen and the characters of DC Comics. I'm hyped, although fairly worried DC is over their head with messing with the characters of Watchmen. I just picked up and read today issue number 2, and they did some things in that issue that kind of worried me...I'll just wait and see how it goes I suppose...
My most anticipated comes out in March and is Burn Bright book five in the Alpha and Omega series by Patricia Briggs. I love her books so much she writes awesome adult urban fantasy! Also im really looking forward to Leah on the Upbeat by Becky Albertali.
I highly recommend the series! If anybody reads the series though definitely start with the novella and not the first book. The novella inspired the series and it shows the story of how the two main characters met.
Umm... A sequel to A Gentlemans Guide to Vice and Virtues????? 😭😭😭 I'm currently reading it because I watched your favorite books of the year and Im loving it Emma🖤 Thank you for reccomdening it and I was wondering if you would consider doing a reveiw on it because I feel as if it totally deserves one 😊
Yes I'm really looking forward to The Belles! There are so many great books being released next year, and I feel like tons of them haven't even been announced yet so I'm really excited.
Royals sounds a bit like The Royal We, which I read this year and really enjoyed! I'm planning on making one of these videos, but I'm so nervous about putting too many books on it and/or missing out on some really great books!
I’m so excited for Son of The Dawn 😭 I waited for the Bane Chronicles and the Shadowhunter Tales to come out in physical form to read them but I’m not doing that this time.
Ahhhh THANKS FOR INCLUDING ZENITH!!!!!! Love youuuuu!!!!!
Omg Sasha I love you and I already pre-ordered Zenith

I have the second book but haven't read it yet. I am considering getting it on audio book because I adored the audio book for the first one.
I am super hyped for Love, Hate and Other Filters because I am a Muslim girl- and I rarely see any representation of Muslim people in books nowadays. Hopefully it ends up being a good one. Anyway, you look pretty as usual- keep up the awesome job :D
SAME- I hadn't even heard of it until this video, but I already have high hopes for the book
Truthfully, I have no doubts that it will be a wonderful book :)

Ok, so hi, I'm Mya and I've been watching your videos for a long time and continues to be inspired by your love for Cassandra Clare's books and I really want to read them and get into the world. My problem comes in that I keep trying to read City of Bones but can't seem to make myself finish it. Is there another place I can start without being confused and still fall in love with it like I know I can?
try the infernal devices series :)
I’m so excited for so many of these books!! Ahhh, I’ll have to make a video talking about my anticipated releases soon. (SO EXCITED FOR QUEEN OF AIR AND DARKNESS)
i can't wait!!
Happy Holidays and Have A Happy New *Book Filled* Year!
you too!
What about A Court of Frost and Starlight by Sarah J Maas? Maybe it comes out in 2019, I’m not sure.
it does come out this year!
I'm very excited about The Exact Opposite of Okay, by Laura Steven. Sounds awesome.
The Wicked Deep, by Shea Ernshaw, sounds interesting too. And Catwoman: Soulstealer, which will be my first Sarah J. Maas book.
oooh i had not heard of these besides catwoman!
hands down, the release i'm most excited for is Leah On The Offbeat. but the Lady's Guide to Petticoats and Piracy is a very close second!
very excited for leah as well!
I always get so excited when I get the notification for Emmas videos 😂💖
Omg I love your sweater! Where is it from? 💛💕👌

The next book in the falling kingdom series is coming out!! It’s such a great series you should check it out :)
LittleBig Reader how many books r there in that series now? And does it get better? I read the first one and it was okay but im hesitant to continue lol
JamRandomReadz :D there are five! And ah they’re amazing! They get better each book ;) I really enjoyed them immensely!
LittleBig Reader oh god now i want them lol thanx

Lol that cover for Heretics Anonymous tho. Thanks for this video, added so many books to my tbr.
I love this make up look!!! You look amazing!!
I'm so excited for Queen of Air and Darkness! At the YALLFest keynote where we saw the cover and release date, I literally freaked out! It's beautiful and I can't wait for December.
I CANT WAIT
i don't remember if i've ever mentioned this to you, but you're so eloquent and well-spoken??? idk i was just thinking about that during your intro
omg stop it says you
Just picked up Ace Of Shades yesterday. Read the synopsis for her first book Daughter Of The Burning City and ordered it since it was not in stock.
Girl I feel you, no one’s talking about the Ghosts of Shadow Market novellas enough! Very excited about all of Cassie’s new releases next year!
i can't wait!!!!
I have over 100 books that I am exited for!! How did you narrow your list down!?
ahahaha i try to be practical and picked the releases i am most likely to actually read this year :)
Becky Albertalli's coming out with a Simon Vs sequel called "Leah on the off beat" in April ! so excited !!
yes i'm excited for that one as well!!
I'm most looking forward to Qoaad and Ghosts of the shadow market. But I will be reading the new Becky Albertalli novel staring Leah
very excited for that one as well!!
I'm looking forward to An Absolutely Remarkable Thing by Hank Green, even though we don't know much at this point it sounds quite interesting - right now it says to be released in 2018 - so I assume it'll be coming out at the end of next year.
oooh i didn't know he was publishing a book!
I just picked up and read today issue number 2, and they did some things in that issue that kind of worried me...I'll just wait and see how it goes I suppose...
ooh that sounds fascinating !!
OMG i love your shirt! where did you get it?!
forever 21!
I love you for that slight Wizards of Waverly Place, also such great books next year!
My most anticipated comes out in March and is Burn Bright book five in the Alpha and Omega series by Patricia Briggs. I love her books so much she writes awesome adult urban fantasy! Also im really looking forward to Leah on the Upbeat by Becky Albertali.
oooh i had not heard of that one!!
I highly recommend the series! If anybody reads the series though definitely start with the novella and not the first book. The novella inspired the series and it shows the story of how the two main characters met.
Umm... A sequel to A Gentlemans Guide to Vice and Virtues????? 😭😭😭
I'm currently reading it because I watched your favorite books of the year and Im loving it Emma🖤 Thank you for reccomdening it and I was wondering if you would consider doing a reveiw on it because I feel as if it totally deserves one 😊
ah i typically don't review books months after i've read them because it's hard to retain all the info but i loved it very much!
So many exciting books! I need them all.
Love your Videos
thank you!!
Yes I'm really looking forward to The Belles! There are so many great books being released next year, and I feel like tons of them haven't even been announced yet so I'm really excited.
i feel the same!!
I'm pretty sure you're gonna hit 100k on new year's day... or night. Happy new year! (it's already new year in my timezone)
I am looking forward to The Lady's Guide so much, and Heretics Anonymous sounds fantastic, so thank you for introducing me to that!
can't wait for them all!
I’m looking forward to the new Throne Of Glass novel in May! There’s no totals yet though.
ooh i almost forgot about that!
Royals sounds a bit like The Royal We, which I read this year and really enjoyed! I'm planning on making one of these videos, but I'm so nervous about putting too many books on it and/or missing out on some really great books!
you can always make a part two if you feel you had to shorten it but still want to talk about more!!
Do you know if there are any Sarah J Maas books coming out in 2018 ?
All of these sound amazing! Thanks for sharing :)
thank youfor watching!!
Have you read the Bakuman series? I believe its by the same author as Death Note. Im not a manga fan but I really like both of these series!!
I can’t wait to read Love, Hate, and Other Filters too! I’m also super excited for Queen of Air and Darkness!
SO PUMPED
I’m so excited for Son of The Dawn 😭 I waited for the Bane Chronicles and the Shadowhunter Tales to come out in physical form to read them but I’m not doing that this time.
aahahah i don't have that much self control!
I BOUGHT SCYTHE BECAUSE OF YOU THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR INTRODUCING ME TO MY NEW FAVORITE BOOK
