I was convinced I was going to love everything Maas ever came out with. I had never read Crescent City until Jan so once Flame and Shadow came out I decided to read the series. I thought book one was just ok, but took it as a world building book. By book two I was struggling to push through just to get to whatever this crossover was and by book 3, I am almost appalled that I finished it. I think it's the worst of her series and I don't think I could force myself to read another one. Then again, as someone who has hated every Emily Henry book I've ever picked up, Funny Story was amazing and I loved it. I had such a weird reading year lol
i really wanna read The Prisoner's Throne but im still stuck up in the stolen heir, that book kinda put me in a reading slump cuz i really really wanted to read abt jude and cardan , but honestly for me oak wasn't interesting enough? idk , i js wanna read abt jude and cardan
Stolen Heir was ok, not great. I think I am much like you and was just looking for more Jude and Cardan. But it was still good. But Prisoner's Throne really disappointed me.
Hey Jamie, I loved your video! I'm actually wrapping up House of Flame and Shadow, and I'm loving the high stakes that I didn't get in Acotar. It's bringing the vibes back from TOG even though absolutely nothing will top the Thrones of Glass series for me, lol. I love your videos, as they inspire me to read new books. I'm super excited to read over the winter break and finish up my end of year tbr Quick life update: I'm almost finished with finals, and so far, I have done okay and am definitely passing classes. Also, I passed my phlebotomy exam! I am so proud of myself for pushing through and passing with a great score. I can't wait to increase my skills and be certified as a medical assistant next summer. Have a beautiful day, and enjoy your tea! (The tea of the day for me will be an alternation between green tea and peach jasmine!)
i wish i liked carley fortune's books more because there's just something so special about reading about the characters walking through yonge-dundas square
Funny your impression of the love interest in The Familiar. I had a similar impression of Rhysand that he was like an old creep. Obviously we know off the bat that he’s beautiful. But i thought he had the appearance of 30+ years older than her for some reason. Even though i understand the actual massive age difference
I dont think you are being too critical. You are simply stating your opinions, and they will obviously change the more you read and the more you know what you are looking for 🖤
did you love your 2024 anticipated reads?
The only book I was anticipating is Wisteria, and yes I did love it luckily, I was so scared I wouldn't lol 🫶
I loved it but it didn't live up to my expectations (I'm talking about The syndicater by RuNyx)
@ LOVE that!
@@mahin4863 I’ve never read!

One book that’s made me laugh out loud was Emily Austin’s book ‘Everyone in this room will someday be dead.’
@@thebookofariel already sounds fun based on that title!
