This ship is superb despite its various flaws..i personally can't wait to see what's in store for us regarding its rework! But what do you guys think of the Origin 600i and its future Rework? do you own the gentlemans Carrack? Will you buy one in game ? How will you use this ship? As Always let me know down Below!!
I got one, imagined myself flying/exploring hours and hours and i think it will matter how you traverse the universe, glad they will put in a repairbay, medbay and better quarters plus overhaul + gold standard. Down the line with NPC crew this will be the best aswell. Good vid and gl.
I've been a backer since 2013, but I'm brand new as an owner of the 600I Exploration! It has quickly become my favourite ship (after years of indifference toward it). I'm extremely excited for the re-work. The interior we have now feels like it was very rushed, in terms of layout. I bet the bridge gets much smaller (~30%). To just clutter that area up with more computers to make it "feel" like it's not wasted space would be a sin. And hopefully that entertaining area with the bar, will only be in the touring edition. Oh...I think you forgot the G12 rover that comes with the ship.
I began with an Aquila - imagining it will be this ship (post rework). I play from time to time, to see the state of the Verse. Eventually, I tried the 600i during a free fly and loved it. Since I mostly play solo, and I want to live out my Enterprise dream - the Carrack is just too much for me. However, this one fits perfectly. I got some cash and bought the explorer, even knowing that it will not have the med bay or any other cool exploration features. Now that it WILL get it - I feel complete. Can't wait.
Its a beautiful ship and one of my favorites in the game. Changes I would like to see; -the 'Bar area' changed to a internal hanger for a 100i (or even better a 300i if it would fit) -one Scanning seat and a mini Nav' table moved in the wasted space behind the captain's chair at the entry area of the bridge. -the Captain's quarters replaced with the Bar, and the Captain's quarters moved to where the scanning room is now. -a small door added between the rear engines with the "tail" lowering to be a loading ramp directly to the cargo bay. -the Hospital bed put where the pool table is. and the Crew quarters of course made more individually private.
Some good ideas there. I like the idea of the nav table at the back of the cockpit that would be a great location for it, and if I'm being honest I don't really need a pool table ha ha
@@PIN-o7 my favorite suggestion is the hanger for a 100i/ 300i. that would be so nice! and if you look at the outside of the 600i that roof section looks like it can slide forward (with the window sliding into the ship) allowing for a smaller craft to land.
I'd say scrap the bar all together, the explorer should adopt a more utility orientated interior as its meant for exploring and they already have touring option of the 600i. I'm not saying make it all utility but a bar is most definitely pointless in a ship meant for a crew, why have one extra crewman just to be a bartender? that just doesn't make sense in my opinion as an exploration vessal. In terms of having a hangar, i doubt it could fit to be honest especially along with the planned additions they have for the ship (the only way to include what you're looking for would be to adopt something similar to how the constellation and its snub fighter are done, as it wouldn't use up any of the much needed space for the rework) I agree in terms of the crew quarters needing a rework, you could easily fit the rooms they have on the 600i touring for the guests in the crew quarters allowing for them to also have an ensuite each. In general I believe the approach should be to focus on the exploration model being an explorer with luxury and the touring be for hauling high end passengers, so remove the bar, remove the pool table, get rid of all guest amenities and focus on the crew and luxury.
600i is a truly stunning ship. I've had the LTI Tourer version since concept and love it to bits. I know most people prefer the explorer and all power to them, but I got the 600i as a tricked out party boat mostly for RP. If I can take VIP in the future so much the better! The reworks look amazing.
This is my favorite ship, been my daily driver for a while I've noticed that the cargo door color change is based on the external environment, so black in space You missed the front bathroom in the walkthrough :) I like to think of all that wasted space as just placeholder assets
The ship interior will be completely be rearranged, hopefully keeping the original concept of a "swapping habitation or exploring module". CIG told they are moving this module, now just after the cockpit to the rear, including the hangar which will get much bigger. I'd expect the current engineering sections to be filled with the actual engine like on the 890J. The centre of the ship will be used for crew quarters and a snub ship hangar, while the rear will hold the passengers and lounge quarter or, in case of the exploration variant, the cargo bay and the Mission specific equipments. A medical bay will also be included
I own an 600i Explorer. 3 places I go inside are bridge, cargo deck and captains quarters to bed log. That's it. Rest of the ship could be cargo space and I'd be happy. Cannot wait for the rework. So much potential for a great ship with so much wasted space that's only cool to see once and that's it.
"For a crew of 3 to 5, do we need two toilets?" Having lived in barracks before, the answer is YES. There is always someone in the bathroom right when you need to go and if everyone ate the same questionable food at chow, there might be an outright bathroom emergency for all at once. Also, sorry I'm way late to the comments on this one
As the owner of an Origin Complete pack, yeah the 600i is a great ship, if you're going near combat at least one gunner is a good idea, even an ai blade would suffice (the ship obviously isn't meant to be nimble, so small craft are hard to hit.) In my opinion nothing in game even compares to the interiors of the Origin 600i/890J series ships. Since I'm going to be mostly viewing the inside of my ship that matters to me, and none of them slouch on firepower. The big empty open spaces are nice, that coupled with the white and light wood colors keeps away the claustrophobia that you may experience in other ships.
I find a great tactic with this ship is to charge at the bad guy, do as much damage as possible, decouple rotate 180 and fly backwards, then as they chase you just obliterate them, no need to enter a turn contest if they just follow you trying to get through your shields.
The room at 29:38 would be a great ambience lounge with holographic scenery settings, where one can choose to be like at a beach or forrest, other planet surface........ with seats changing colors...and soft nature noises... Below it some lab or surface mission center with an other holographic table giving a situation overview of exploration teams.
THE CREW QUARTERS at 40:45 , I wonder how the arrangement is going to look like! Small corridor with 3 or 4 quarters at the sides and a large lounge or crew mess...
Would like it too remain opulent but no need for the fluff. Maybe make the back part hold a small ship, med bay, cargo hold, bigger vehicle cargo bay. Love the shape of the exterior, don’t change that! Love the look of the space ship! Just have important stuff in the ship but make it look bright and nice!
It is by far the best solo ship in the game. With the rework it's getting a medbay and probably exploration drones. It hardly gets better than this for solo gameplay.
I always liked the 600 but the "Gold Standard" rework is why I own one now. mainly I'm waiting on the BMM and Polaris though. Great video as always brother, thumbs up.
Also as a 600i owner I think the rework on both ships will be refreshing and much needed. I got the touring in the hopes that it will come in handy for passenger missions in the future. The ship as it is looks very pleasant but illogical in its use of space. I think its going to be a luxurious beast when they finally finish it. I'm also hoping to see more general functionality in its utilities such as interactive light switches and working docking collar like the 400i. Great video man!

One of my favourite Ships indeed. Tho it cant reach the 400i as a Single Player ship IMO its still decent for one person only. Im just scared that CIG will take away Firepower from the pilot once they rework the ship. However if CIG does the same outstanding job n Space management like they did on the 400i, I can see this Ship becoming a serious competitor for the Carrack and Oddyssey. The 600i mght never be able to compete with Carrack and Oddyssey in long distance exploration, but I think it might win the Field in between for it. It goes where the 400i cant and the Carrack wont. I just hope to see the rework soon, since its a very beautyful and well designed ship. At least from the Outside. However the Interrior still looks good, its just wasted space.
Excellent points couldn't agree more. I'm really looking forward to the re work, and also hope we don't lose the weapons however cig are happy with exterior so hopefully weapon layout counts.
I love this ship! bought both the explorer and Touring at concept. I want to use mine as a safari ship, with all the animals intended I think it would be awesome to run tours / hunting expeditions... I wish they would create a mix version, the extra living quarters of the Touring and the vehicle bay of the explorer. If you want to see the touring version let me know, they are rare.

i picked up a prowler with lti off the grey market a while ago for $401 and it came with a 600i naming token and just now picked up a prowler to 600i explorer upgrade with a second naming token for $48 so less than $450 into it and i get to name it maybe even a second time if i decide the name needs to change{if that works im not sure}. i am excited, even though i have a carrack and a corsair, this will be my kick ass party boat!
@@PIN-o7 right? i thought i was gonna use the msr as a daily driver, now i think it will be the 600i kick ass party boat :) epecially since i was able to work the ccu chart just today i used that msr to upgrade to an a2 and melt a couple ships got a sweet discount and only had to spend $20 new money. i know it is not all that usefull right now for what it is designed for but the future is pure gold for that ship i think... and who doesn't like droppin' bombs especially the mother of all bombs :)
I am really looking forward to the rework after seeing all the details of it recently. So much so that I bought a fairly cheap CCU to the explorer from my C2 as I think I will get a lot more use out of the 600i than I currently do the C2 which I rarely fly. I think they are going to have to increase the height of the landing gear by a couple of metres if they want to get a Nova underneath though as you can barely get an Ursa under there at the moment.
As a proud owner of a daily driven LTI 600i ex you have done it justice with this review and have earned a sub. I actually am in love with all aspects of this vessel. Especially it's combat capability. I usually run 3 gimbaled S4 omniskies to track smaller craft, but the S5 M7As absolutely slug small and medium craft if you can catch them. My one complaint with the 600i that I hope the rework fixes is the sterile white color scheme of the crew area and bridge. The Master bedroom under the cockpit should be the standard for the styling of the rest of the ship. From the pictures of the rework I've seen this will be fixed. I just can't wait for a tour. And I think Instead of fitting a Nova in this beast I will run a G12(or Ursa) and a ROC on the lift bay together. The 600i allows for so much varied gameplay. Now if the stern Turret were moved up to a dorsal mount to align with pilot field of view I'd dare to say that the 600i would be one of the most formidable multicrew ships in the verse. Even with it's lack of hull armor. People often compare this ship to the carrack and say the Anvil is more powerful. But would you rather have a single or maybe two S5 manned turrets hitting a target at a time or 3 S5 pilot weapons and an S4 remote turret drilling whatever is in front of you? The gunner also can use the missle pods and fuction as a copilot all at one terminal right there on the bridge. Post rework 600i will give the carrack a run for it's money as the go to multicrew workhorse.
I agree with your assessment of the rework. I believe the only thing that will stay the same is the hull. They will 100% gut the inside and start at square 1. I can’t wait to see this and I hope it’s this year! O7
I upgraded to the Megapack and honestly i almost like this more than the carrack. Its like a miniature carrack with pilot weapons. I can actually low fly the carrack better with its engines but these guns at this size is just a blast to use. I cant wait for rework but its been a year now of waiting 😢
Selling points are the same for me, i initially didn't have this ship on my radar but after testing and buying a few ships i ultimately ended up melting everything i had except the prospector and invested in this. I'm happy with my decision and won't be melting it. Now i got a new problem... being patient for the rework and hoping for at least double scu increase.
Yeah the patience side of things hurts lol 😆 but I think its a good design. Cig did mention a "substantial" overhaul to the cargo area so I would hope for a larger scu capacity..Time will tell I guess.
I guess like myself your glued to the leaks trying to see what is coming. They could use a explorer map table like the 400i uses. My dreams is a 85x as a snub but I know its not going to happen.
Nice discussion. I was gonna give you a heads up on the title spelling but took a moment to see if it was just a brit thing only to be surprised that it in fact is. To the rest of the English speaking world it's spelled "civilization", but who are we to correct the brits on the English language. haha. I really look forward to the interior rework. It won't replace my Carrack but I like Origin and may look at one for an in-game purchase.
My problem with this ship is the chairs, eventually we'll see characters with different heights and not having adjustable chairs is going to be a nightmare.
Yes....🔥🔥🔥..the landing gear doesn't suit this ship at all... I also love the ship but hate the landing gear... it just reminds me of a ship that didn't do leg day at the gym!!!!
I am a solo player, part in fact due to my aspergers. Is this a recommended ship(first in game purchase) for all around? I haven't yet found my vocation in this game, so I would like a universally usable ship. I tend to do a lot of bunkers, but that is because I am pimping a Mustang Alpha atm. Thank you for any help.
The low cargo capacity is this ship's biggest drawback A freelancer max or constellation are probably better all around solo ships if you only have one But there's a special feeling when using the 600
Great video as always, However I hate Origin in General. They are nothing more than Tour Barges. The 600i is basically being rebuilt because It was a pretty big disappoint to a lot of buyers. If you are trying to open a VIP touring service, Origin would be the deal. Maybe I will change my mind after the Rebuild. For now its a big No for me
Origin isn't for everyone, I'm partial to the high society luxury ha ha, however I love the polar opposites. Drake for example I dig there pure no nonsense approach to ship building.
The rework is mandatory. To much wasted space in the current design. Missing key functions. You could fit the 400i bridge and crew quarters in the 600i bridge. The 600i crew quarters is insane wasted space. No med bay? Needs one. This ship only has 2 decks. It should have 3, this ship is almost the size of a carrak. The carrak has 4 decks. I see 3 decks: top deck: bridge, service and personnel deck. Mapping, crew quarters x4. Middle deck: luxury decks. Components area (hidden). Crew quarter x2. bottom deck: technical deck, med bay, cargo deck, vehicle deck, armoury. Component area, not hidden. Or you could flip the luxury and crew deck, placing the top deck as the fancy one.

The fuel size must change, its far out of line with current ship designs, especially for an exploration ship which means long-distance travel.
Don't get me started on aluminium!! Ha ha ha 😂
Origin is literally the BMW of the space age...
Fuck that shit i'd hate to see docking collars added to this ship. I like that theres only 2 ways in and makes it harder to board.
I finally got the 600i !!!!!
Noice!! Enjoy 😉
The low cargo capacity is this ship's biggest drawback
A freelancer max or constellation are probably better all around solo ships if you only have one
But there's a special feeling when using the 600
You never looked at the Captain's Bathroom. Hidden sliding door near the plant wall.
As a owner of both Carrack and 600i. And the Carrack will meet the melting pot way before I would consider the 600i leaves my hanger.
Sand cave exploration
Great video as always, However I hate Origin in General. They are nothing more than Tour Barges. The 600i is basically being rebuilt because It was a pretty big disappoint to a lot of buyers. If you are trying to open a VIP touring service, Origin would be the deal. Maybe I will change my mind after the Rebuild. For now its a big No for me
Origin isn't for everyone, I'm partial to the high society luxury ha ha, however I love the polar opposites. Drake for example I dig there pure no nonsense approach to ship building.
600I is based
Indeed based it is lol
Just FYI that's not steam, it's oxygen.
rented one it has a lot of things that need to be fixed
They will be fixed during the gold standard re work. They've stated as much.
The large angular lip looks so out of place on an origin ship.
my biggest regret so far in star citizen. Upgrading 600i ex to carrack.
😰
Really dont know what you mean with the toilet being man only...looks like a regular toilet to me lol...anyway they should turn toilets into bidets
The symbology on the door...
I see 3 decks:
top deck: bridge, service and personnel deck. Mapping, crew quarters x4.
Middle deck: luxury decks. Components area (hidden). Crew quarter x2.
bottom deck: technical deck, med bay, cargo deck, vehicle deck, armoury. Component area, not hidden.
Or you could flip the luxury and crew deck, placing the top deck as the fancy one.
Creapy IT clown 🤡 😭🤣🤣🤣🤣
Civilization*
No. Its CIVILISATION in the UK.
