We already have them! They're just super rare, especially when it comes to melanistic animals; I've only ever had a melanistic jaguar and, to my delight last night, a part melanistic red fox!
I've also felt the same way about the melanistic, luesistic, albino etc animals. I've had Planet Zoo since it came out and I've only ever had one albino bonobo and one melaniatic jaguar. And they only popped up for test zoos i created to practice building! 😭 As a sandbox player it would be nice to have filters or something so that we could be able to experience different morphs, and I know it's not "realistic" but sandbox mode isn't supposed to be. I really hope Frontier will keep hearing feedback and add at least a better refresh button in the animal trading center so we can be able to sort through at least different color morphs.
So sad that it’s so difficult to find the piebald variants, they’re so pretty but so hard to get. I honestly love the update and hope Frontier can maybe fix the percentages of finding them.
@@davidiii9870 Ikr, they should stay rare as they are, just because they look good or different does not mean they should be given a higher chance to get.
@@willowheart6590 in my opinoin, as she said, they could make it easier to find them in sandbox mode and maiby slightly increase the chance of getting them out of sandbox because I think the realism should remain but of course it would be nice if at least in sandbox mode it would be easier. But I think if it's too easy it won't be as fun anymore 'cause the exitement if the animal has a mutation and the happyness and relief when you finally get one are what thrives you to search until you reach your goal. Also if it was too easy it'd get boring soon
I don't know if you know but the foxes can be piebald in any variation (maybe not the leucistic one) so you can have a melanistic (black) fox that is also a pieblad :3 I love the part melanistic cross that is piebald x3
The "genetic" skin variants have always been difficult to get, so having to look for hours to find a piebald animal is nothing new. I remember when the jaguars first came out i searched the trade center and bred jaguars for nearly 20 hours and after one thousand jaguars a single melanistic jaguar was finally born. Though they later increased the odds of finding melanistic jaguar, so there is hope they will increase the piebald spawn rate.
A mod to get more colourmorphs has been on nexus since the start of modding for this game. I have been keeping it updated for the past year now as the original creator couldn’t keep up anymore. It’s called more albinos but it increases all colourmorphs. Having said that: I think it is ridiculous we need a mod to do this in sanbox. Just let us create exactly the animal we want to play with.
yea I agree, for sandbox i wished there was a replacement for the animal market, where instead you can "custom build" the animal with the available options and also choose to pick young animals , it´s hard if you want to have aging off but also breed to get morphs and the babies you want, while at the same time being unable to get rid of the babies if not letting them grow up. either of that changing would help
do you have a link for the page? been looking for a mod like it for a while. Its a headache in sandbox to have no color filters, like, the point is to create your own zoo without limits.
@@ShorktheTrixic I posted a link earlier today, but I cannot see it anymore. Just in case links are removed, I'll just explain it. Go to Nexus mods and search for More Sandbox Color Morphs. Mod number is 116.
There’s on workshop a park called “All habitat animal morphs” with nothing but all animal variations until Eurasia pack, stored in quarantines. At least one couple for each morph and good genetic
On one of my franchise worlds one of my albino foxes and a piebald had 3 kits and 2 of them came out as melanistic x piebalds while the other seemed more albino like with a few piebald spots, there very unique ones
For sandbox I think it should be possible to increase the likelihood of the rare types being born, say if it's 1 in 1000 you could increase it to 1 in 100 or 1 in 10.
I couldn’t agree more, I was so excited to get some piebald variations especially the foxes since they are a favorite animal of mine but for weeks I looked but since I was in sandbox mode I was unable to get a single one! I only play up to 3 hours at a time because planet zoo isn’t my life, you know. Plus I can’t imagine just buying animals for hours, that’s not all I want to spend my time doing while I get to play. I finally started a franchise zoo but the variations were so expensive I didn’t have enough money to make anything so I’m still trying to get one on sandbox until this day 😅. I also learned that you can breed the piebald with the silver and black fox and get part piebald ones! I hope to get them eventually but thanks for the info!
Really, they need to add the ability to choose your animals genetics ( size, fertility, longevity, immunity, colour and colour morph) in sandbox mode. We are meant to have complete creative freedom in sandbox mode, right? The animals genetics should be included.
Instead of piebaldism, which I think is pretty dang rare irl in the majority of these animals they did add it to (I live in pronghorn native territory, never even heard of a piebald one In 40 years living here) I would have preferred if Frontier just put more obvious color variation in the game, the morphs that they currently have are just unrealistically subtle. Wolves for instance should have a ton of variation from black to nearly white, not just slightly more brown or grey. I do really like the fox variants, that’s really the first inclusion of real and common naturally occurring colormorphs in the wild than piebaldism, which in my understanding only occurred after mass breeding experiments (and potentially purposeful inbreeding) in captivity. I get that they wanted to add it to base game animals so everyone could enjoy it, but I just think the species choices were pretty odd.
Eh, I don't think they should be more common, realistically piebald is a super rare trait. I'm assuming the percentage is somewhere around 0.1-0.5% which is still way more common than in real life. Not to mention, making them more common would, at least for me, ruin the excitement of finally coming across a piebald animal. I don't play the game super often, maybe like 3 hours a week, but I still like the chance of it.
It does exist a public mod on Nexus that increase the chance for any color mutation to show up, anywhere from low to high chance. With the high chance it will more than likely always be a color mutation of the animals you can adopt/buy.
I just wish we were able to obtain this stuff in sandbox- I only find the occasional albino every once in awhile even though it's an animal I'm not able to use in my zoo, but never any other variant so I've assumed that "oh, that's a communal thing for non-sandbox". But new patterns and all that is awesome!
I really like how hard it is to get them! Reminds me of shiny hunting in pokemon, i don’t like that in newer pokemon games or pokemon go the odds are only 1-500 instead of like 1-8000 😅
i would love if at least for sandbox that they would build in a setting that you coud how likely you can get them. I mean you can set that they are imortal but not how likely to get albinos and piebald becouse "that" would be unrealistic.
didn´t know increasing statistics increases the chance of getting them, cause realistically it would be inbreeding, so the opposite. for sandbox I really wished there was something like a "custom build" instead of the animal market, that lets you choose from the available options for animals and maybe also allow to pick up young ones if you don´t want to breed. It´s hard to get what you´re looking for ,while you want death off, or aging off and also keep some young animals in the zoo as you cant breed at the same time as aging beeing off ,plus not beeing able to get rid of unwanted offspring. Sure you can stock the ones you wanted into the storage (but it also is limited after all) and then let unwanted ones grow up and send them away, but trying that with many species at a time is difficult, takes forever and really takes away from the experience of sandbox.
Is this actually true though? I just assumed she was wrong when she said breeding for better statistics would increase the odds. In my experience so far, I’ve mostly gotten other colors when I allowed inbreeding, which would be the realistic way it works irl aswell.
Hate to brake it to you but there are Waaaayyyyyy more than 2 pied variants of fox There’s red Pied with the 3 colours of red There’s black pied Silver pied And cross pied which also has the same 3 colours as the red So that’s about 8 Fox Pied Variants
