i've made this recipe several times in my crockpot but add 2 cans cream of chicken soup. i serve over a scoop of mashed potatoes with a buttered roll...they are out of this world.
just got my instant pot in the mail yesterday. this is my first recipe that I am trying because you guys make it look so easy! I'm super excited to taste it and hope that my husband stops giving me grief about the money spent on the device. he needs convinced that it's worth the money and I hope this recipe does that.
I just recently got an instant pot, and I love it!♥️ my poor ninja cooker and casserole crock have been neglected 😩! I really hope y'all do more recipe videos for the instant pot!
The Reames frozen noodles are very good. My step-mom makes this exact recipe on the stove and it takes forever. She loves eating them over potatoes. I'm looking forward to having this from the Instant Pot...so thanks!
I enjoyed your video very much. Thanks for making home kitchen cooking fun! I will try this recipe for my family soon! Wonder Woman never looked that good, dude.
I remember the video when Mikey was using the Instant Pot for the first time and it sort of became a volcano, and he kept saying my wife is going to kill me. Love your videos!
Mikey like my older brother used to say " it don't matter how many times you poke a stick in your eye it's gonna hurt every time". So be careful around those hot pots. I am wanting to try to make homemade noodles the way my mom made them (if I can remember how) this would be a good recipe to use them in. Thanks for your videos and newsletter.
I make this about every 6-8 weeks. Unfortunately, there is just 2 of us to eat ALL that. I’m wondering if I can just half or quarter everything in this recipe? How would I adjust the time? OR could I FREEZE this? I have a food vacuum sealing machine. 🤔🤔
I switched to using frozen tenders cuz all we have for grocery stores is Walmart basically but the fresh chicken breast they sell it usually fricken huge and never cooks properly but since I’ve switched to using the frozen tenders it seems to cook better wish dishes in the instant pot and even just using the tenders and some broth and taco seasoning makes quick shredded chicken tacos so can’t go wrong with tender. Love you guys and your videos!! Hope you blow up
I'm wondering if this size pot is large enough for my family. Can you tell me how many cups of food this recipe makes and how far from the top you can fill the pot.
Could you make this in a traditional slow cooker without the pressure, or would it make total mush out of the noodles? Looks like a good sick day meal.
Thank you for making food cooking fun for once again. After cancer & double masectomy I have kind of lost the energy I once had. Your you tubes have me break out the crock & order an instant pot so I can have home cooked meals even if as a cashier my shifts are wacky.
Pam Hall I found this from a Food Network article: Chicken Stock vs. Chicken Broth. "Chicken stock tends to be made more from bony parts, whereas chicken broth is made more out of meat. Chicken stock tends to have a fuller mouth feel and richer flavor, due to the gelatin released by long-simmering bones.". Hope that helps ya! ~Mikey
ok I'm making this tonight and wondered my egg noodles are really hard frozen together, should I let them thaw a bit or no? don't want to ruin them . tia
Sharlotte Mecca Hmm, we've used frozen but never had them stuck together. My recommendation is to break them apart a bit. Otherwise they make cook in a clump. Hope that helps!
I have a 3 quart instant pot and I’ve done 2 lbs boneless ckn thighs, 1 box of broth & a 24 oz bag of those frozen egg noodles and when I went to release the pressure a lot of water came out made a huge mess. So just for reference y’all (the 3 quart pot is too small for this recipe). Just get a 12 oz bag of the noodles!!!
Hey, 1st your super FUNNY!!! Thanks for teaching me something i didn't know about the IP, i will say i have watched a lady name Sandy Clifton, make this dish ( kinda the same way) she used whole chicken frozen. I'm trying to figure out the time when using thawed vers frozen
Mikey, I'm surprised you still have feeling in your fingers as many times as you have burnt yourself. LOL This sounds like another winner, winner, chicken dinner!!
I had the same problem when I went to the website directly. When I googled the noodles, Walmart carries them. I did find them at a few stores in my area by going to the Walmart website directly.
+Pamma Sheppard Not sure. We haven't tested anything else, but the general concept should work. If you go with a different noodle, let us know what you used and how it turns out!
Awwwww man, I'm a sucker for gooooood chicken and noodles; but, I suck at making homemade noodles! Never got the hang of it. I gotta find a source for those noodles instead of the dry noodles. Anyway, 'nother question - have you used the "crockpot" feature on this Instant Pot? If so, how did it work??
I've used it a couple of times on slow cook and I've found it cooks "cooler" than my other slow cookers... I prefer using my slow cookers to slow cook and the pressure cooker for pressure cooking. BUT I do like the rice cooker setting and I got rid of my rice cooker after seeing how well it cooks up rice. As for the noodles, you can find stores here: www.reamesfoods.com/reames-where-to-buy Enjoy!
Thanks Cris! That's kinda what I was thinking - slow cooker for slow cooking - but also interested in the "rice" setting! You answered that one! :) Have you experimented with any of the other settings yet? LOL... as you were typing an answer to my original questions, I was probably copying the name of the noodles from your recipe, located at www.recipesthatcrock.com, and googled it and found their website! Found a couple of locations that carry the noodles not too far from me. YAY!
Yeah those old pressure cooker were dangerous. I seen one blow up at my brother's house once. The lid went through the celling like a rocket. I would never use the older ones. The newer ones are much safer.
Don't be too sure about that. A lady in the IP group on FB got burned when she opened the pot because it sprayed liquid on her. The reason being that while the plunger went down as it should, she was cooking beans and an air bubble must have been trapped under the liquid and came rushing out when she took off the lid. The remedy is to not open the pot until you slightly tip it one way and then the other before opening (assuming the plunger is down and pressure is assumed to be gone).
Personally as this is not a Pressure Cooker I would take advantage of being able to open the lid and add later. First would be high heat, Add Butter and/or oil to seal the Chicken, Then add the Stock/Water and spices. Cook for 10 minutes, Add Sweet Corn, Cook for another 10 Minutes add Peas, Cook for another 10 minutes whilst in a small sauce pan make a couple desert spoons of Roux, Add the Noodles cook for time given on pack, Add knobs of Roux and stir until you get sauce you want?
i've made this recipe several times in my crockpot but add 2 cans cream of chicken soup. i serve over a scoop of mashed potatoes with a buttered roll...they are out of this world.
I couldn't find the frozen eggnoodles so I have to buy the regular kind. followed same instructions you gave. turned out great

Thanks to the both off you. Relationship goals right here! The meal looks pretty good too.
Mikey like my older brother used to say " it don't matter how many times you poke a stick in your eye it's gonna hurt every time".

Great tip about hitting the manual button twice to shut off the warming feature!
any suggestions on how to make yogurt when you don't have the yogurt setting in your instant pot?
I switched to using frozen tenders cuz all we have for grocery stores is Walmart basically but the fresh chicken breast they sell it usually fricken huge and never cooks properly but since I’ve switched to using the frozen tenders it seems to cook better wish dishes in the instant pot and even just using the tenders and some broth and taco seasoning makes quick shredded chicken tacos so can’t go wrong with tender.

+amethystsamia Check out our recipe for that very question! www.recipesthatcrock.com/slow-cooker-chicken-noodles/
I've never tried frozen noodles.ill have to try them.
Would you have this type of recipe for the crockpot version?
If using chicken breasts, do I need to modify the recipe at all? Thank you
Hey y'all..... im on a budget. Can you use dry egg noodles? Cause I can get those at the dollar store. What adjustment would I make to time?
There is nothing better than home made beef/chicken and noodles. I make them a lot. Freeze them for fast meals.
Put her in front of camera with you. She gives all the instructions & info on doing this!! Looked good.
Thank you for making food cooking fun for once again. After cancer & double masectomy I have kind of lost the energy I once had. Your you tubes have me break out the crock & order an instant pot so I can have home cooked meals even if as a cashier my shifts are wacky.
We always add peas to ours too
What is the difference between chicken broth and chicken stock?? This looks very good!!
~Mikey
Can you add carrots and potato's to this?
ok I'm making this tonight and wondered my egg noodles are really hard frozen together, should I let them thaw a bit or no? don't want to ruin them . tia
Sharlotte Mecca Hmm, we've used frozen but never had them stuck together. My recommendation is to break them apart a bit. Otherwise they make cook in a clump. Hope that helps!
As GOODe As It Gets yup I let them thaw just a bit to break them apart. turned out great ty for sharing!!
DUDE YOU'RE HILARIOUS
Nothing like chicken and noodles with mashed potatoes. But you're missing the corn! I love to mix all three of those together. MMMM.
+Amanda Griffin Now you're speakin' my language, girl! Add some of Momma Goode's Cole slaw and I'd be in heaven!
Do you have a recipe for Momma Goode's Cole Slaw?
Can you add frozen vegetables to this from the start?
Yep! Enjoy!
oooooooooohyeahhhhh I remember those old-style stovetop pressure cooker!! YIKES! BTDT Mikey!
I wish you could show the front of the instant pot.
I have a 3 quart instant pot and I’ve done 2 lbs boneless ckn thighs, 1 box of broth & a 24 oz bag of those frozen egg noodles and when I went to release the pressure a lot of water came out made a huge mess. Did you say "poultry in motion"? Hilarious!
Mikey, I'm surprised you still have feeling in your fingers as many times as you have burnt yourself. LOL This sounds like another winner, winner, chicken dinner!!
What was that I heard around 1:36? :D
Christopher Brown lol i thot i was the only one who noticed
I have the pressure cooker called Crock Pot, I do not no how to turn off the warming button
The manual so should tell you. Normally it us the cancel or stop button. Basically your turning the unit off.
Darn it! I did a search for those noodles to see the closest store I could get them at and there isn't one within 100 miles! :(
I had the same problem when I went to the website directly. When I googled the noodles, Walmart carries them. I did find them at a few stores in my area by going to the Walmart website directly.
Make your noodles, super easy!
does this only work with frozen noodles? They are not available in my area,
+Pamma Sheppard Not sure. We haven't tested anything else, but the general concept should work. If you go with a different noodle, let us know what you used and how it turns out!
If I make this recipe in a crockpot do you dump everything in just as you did?
Hi Tania- You can find our slow cooker version here: www.recipesthatcrock.com/slow-cooker-chicken-noodles/ Enjoy!
What if you don’t have a instant pot but if you had a slow cooker? Y’all need to be on tv 📺
Yum
Oh man you guys made me hungry. That looks good with the mashed potatoes. What kind of noddles did you use??
Hi Thomas! We used Reames frozen noodles.
Awwwww man, I'm a sucker for gooooood chicken and noodles; but, I suck at making homemade noodles! Never got the hang of it. I gotta find a source for those noodles instead of the dry noodles. Mikey, you've got to be more careful! You can't do a video without burning yourself! This does look good!
Yeah those old pressure cooker were dangerous. I seen one blow up at my brother's house once. The lid went through the celling like a rocket. I would never use the older ones. The newer ones are much safer.
I need the Wonder Woman apron, noodle Queen.
Oh my word, I love you guys. I'm so curious about the Instant Pot. Haven't ponied up for one yet.
I am doing this tonight with dry noodles...
The iPot will not let you open it until all pressure has been released.
Don't be too sure about that. A lady in the IP group on FB got burned when she opened the pot because it sprayed liquid on her. Look I must be the first person to view your video today. I am the first one to comment and to do the thumbs up. Yesssss. 😁😁😁
thank you awesome video , I didn't know you could turn the warmer off by hitting maual button twice Thanks!
Substituted 2 cans of cream of chicken soup for some of the broth, tastes great.
Personally as this is not a Pressure Cooker I would take advantage of being able to open the lid and add later. Boneless chicken thighs works great!
That was a generation when you were expected to have common sense. Everything has to be idiot proof now.
