How to Test Electrical EGR Valve FAST and EASY

To test the electric EGR valve we must first know how it is internally constituted.
The electric EGR valve is made up of a valve that allows the exhaust gases to return to the intake and be burned together with a mixture of air and fresh gasoline, with this it is possible to reduce the temperature of the combustion chamber that generates Nitrous Oxide. (NOx), a component that is very harmful to human health.
The electrical EGR valve connector has 5 terminals, two of them are for the 12V DC motor that drives the valve that allows the passage of gases, the remaining three terminals correspond to a potentiometer that registers the position of the EGR valve.
This potentiometer is powered by +5V DC and provides an output voltage between 0.7V in the closed position and increases as the valve is opened further.
The resistance of the DC motor that drives the throttle valve is about 3 kilo ohms while the DC motor has a standard resistance of 8 ohms.
