@@iworkoutlmfao Yeah it was really sad to hear, but i read somewhere that the composer wasn't actually at fault for this. Apparently he was only given the MIDIs by the manager, not knowing the source. He just went on with it and didn't realize himself that those files weren't allowed for commercial use

My Playstation 2 library was full of indie low budget games like this. Where has my childhood gone!? I’m 24 and I played this at the age of 10 or so... me and all my brothers used to race each-other with our memory card saves using custom builds. Legendary
I just got nostalgia nuked. Being a gamer its weird that this game was the one I remember playing most when I was very young.
As a child, this was as close to being a car owner as I got. Owning your own vehicle, adventuring in the world, seeing the sights, it was freedom.
wow all i remember is i tried so hard to find and invite that red and blue car to my team because they were finishing the race in 1st and 2nd place almost everytime. But when they joined my team, they started to finish in 23rd and 24th place -_- other than that, it was a great game :D
You need to give them good tires and engines, then they will perform! When you recruit them they reset to the base build, so that's why they seem to suck. But they do have the best AI, so you just need whatever engines and tires you can get from the heaven city.

I’m 24 years old and just purchased a copy of this game on eBay to relive some childhood nostalgia. Spent hours and hours roaming this game.
Used to play this at a friend's house as a kid, and I literally didnt know you were supposed to race. Lol. I would just drive around the cities.
That was the fun part :D I loved just driving around finding all the awesome places. Me and my brother played together and he’d do the races lol I didn’t like to do those

Good luck with that, copies were rare even back in the day. I remember there was something like one or two places that had it stocked in the heyday of the PS2 in my country. Best way nowadays seems to be to downloading a disk image and emulating.

Downloaded this for PS2 and I am obsessed with this game! Being noce to the people in the world is so satisfying. This game OOZES charm and I would give almost anything fir this to be updated with 2,500+ models, paint jobs, races, bigger world, more stories, higher polygon count, etc. I love this game. Whatever happened to these kinds of games that were just charming?

There is even a prequel named penny racers but without story and open world and finally there is choro q the last on the serie they are all ps2 games!
PS: these games are the choro q hg series games. There are another choro q games but not on the same serie or console.

These Choro Q games always say Pegi 3 but DAMN are they difficult and frustrating and you have to be really inteligent to get them to 100% :P

This was literally, the first video game i ever owned. My nan had brought me this.
I was about 5-6 roaming around this map. Absolutely worried because id always get lost. Now i come back to this game, to hear the noises and songs, see the cars and locations. It all reminds me of being 5
3:33 that blue car in front, literally made me cry as a kid. That car, taught me to cut corners in racing games. The fucking trauma that came from this blue car is unreal. I appreciate this game, and whoever made it
The soundtrack of road trip adventure? No. It’s the soundtrack of my childhood. I’ve had vague images of this game stuck in my head for the last 15 years, only the barest glimpse of that iconic Subaru lookin blue car in my mind. Can’t ever remember racing however, just driving around looking for cool places. Glad I finally found the name of this game- especially since I just bought a ps2 again!

Bro I miss this I used to play it everyday on the ps2 always trying to get new body’s and all I did was explore the what it seemed like endless map talking to every car I could. I had to restart the game completely every time I played so everyday and it would never get boring or repetitive somehow because I’d always find something new. I played not even knowing how to read.

The sounds and the way this appears to handle gives me strong vibes of Penny Racers on the PS1. Sometimes these odd feeling games can end up being the most memorable and satisfying when you get used to them. Will have to check this out.
It's from the same series called ChoroQ! The toys that these games are based on are called ChoroQ in their home country of Japan, and Penny Racers overseas. But the names for these games are a complete mess overseas, constantly changing names between games and regions, causing different games to have the same name.

@@MatthewBarnesBeats A bunch of them are Japan only but some fan translations do exist, such as for ChoroQ (PS1) 2, 3 and 4 (Penny Racers PS1 was the first one). I know the one for ChoroQ Wonderful (ChoroQ PS1 4) aint good quality but it's better than nothing.

I tried to re-purchase it a long time ago but I loaded the disc up and it didn't work, it wasn't in too bad of a condition but it just didn't even register. Is that because of the game itself or is it because of a network and company issue? I really wanna play it and complete it again but I can't, can anyone help me out here? you'd be helping me out so much!
No the game is only offline so it's the disc fault try cleaning it

I think CoolROM still have this game. RoadTripAdventure (HG2). Along with Gadget Racers (HG1) and Choro Q (HG4).
As for HG3, it is very hard to find, because their name is same with HG1 in US, Gadget Racer. Emuparadise actually have HG3, and I managed to save all 4 HGs in time.
