I have a backstory to how I found this game, when we were young me and my brother used to go to Blockbuster every week and rent out a game to play, at one point we rented out something that looked and sounded cool, but when he got home and opened the box we realised it wasn't the right game, instead it was some game called "road trip", instead of going back up and complaining we tried the game out, and it was a blast, we played it for hours, just driving around with advertisements on, because we were young we thought the world was massive beyond anything we'd experienced before, and by the end of the week we got to Cloud Hill, we never actually completed the game, but it was a blast and now it's really nostalgic.
You found the gam- The game found you in a good way! Good to make such an experience, and an amazing way to get to know it. It was meant to be that you guys would experience the game :D
I came across this game in a weird way as well! My cousin's family hosted a summer BBQ and had relatives from all over come by. One of their kids brought a PS2 and games to play alongside ours and other systems. Someone, not sure who, left their disc for Road Trip, and it got shuffled around between my families house and my cousins for many months it seemed. Eventually, i tried it out, and was HOOKED! I played the heck out of it!
@@0326Hambonecool story, I love how I’m not the only one that wasn’t familiar with the game but it ended up being very memorable. Around 2005 my siblings & I asked my parents to get “road kill” again. So you could imagine how disappointed we were the first few minutes of playing this. But it didn’t take long for me to enjoy playing this everyday after school. The background music & ready randomly pop into my head every now & then. Hence why I am here now 😅
When i was 4-6 years old idk exatcly how old i was, i Played a lot of gta san andreas secretly and my big brother knew it one time he was in the City with my mom to buy a new game but instead of buying himself a game he buyed this game for me and told me it is Gta for kids, so i played it a long time. Its one of my Fav games. Nice speedrun btw
I grew up with this game too, i loved gta and Gran turismo. This to me was an open world gran turismo with the story of a GTA which i also was not allowed to play. I wish they made a new version of this but keeping with the cartoonish graphics but better physics
It still baffles me how the composer of the E-Radio music never even knew his music ended up on this game. Turns out they were used without his knowing or permission!
@@TheUKNutter oh i didnt read that right sorry, some of Michael walthius' tracks are available on spotify and someone has uploaded the majority of e-radio tracks using the original sources on youtube
Have you ever thought about doing a speed run for presidency by doing it the normal way i.e completing all the races and the grand prix. I mean, in both your Any% and 100 Stamp runs you use President Skip
Cool run. So glad people have speedran this game! How does the whole roulette thing work though? I don't understand that part of the run. Is it just for money?
So the world is built in a way that loops back on itself. As such you can drive from the first place (Peach Town) to the last place (Papaya Island). It doesn't "Skip" anything per se, but it gives you access to late game items early on like the Turbo and parts from the part shop

HOLY SHIT THIS GAME WAS MY CHILD HOOD I FINALLY FOUND IT
This guy played more of the game in 12 minutes than I did in 3 years lol
How To Become President In 12 Minutes
This game is pure nostalgia. One of the first games I ever 100% completed, and without any outside guide or anything.

Pretty sure he knows he made a comment on it
@@nx3035 A comment replying to me, but yes. I’d love to see what the full e-radio sounds like with the original music and sources.

this game is LEGENDARY
This is a game from my childhood! My copy arrived in the post today. I can’t wait to play it tonight thank you for your content!
This was my favourite game from 4-10. I played it so much. Never met anyone else who’s played it tho
Right on, same here dude!
I just got this game today in a spindle of loose ps2 games. This game soundtrack sounds pretty awesome, like an rpg soundtrack
Looking forward for some Omnibus Action. :)
I remember using a notebook to create a map so I could resolve the labyrinth in less than 3 minutes
Great run
Bro this game was lit
Back when games had a really great gameplay and didn't need great graphics to have fun. I prefer to play this game rather than playing forza horizon.
I remember taking wild routes and actually finding explorable places
Bomba soundtrack on this game!
I had an mr2 once. Gave me diarrhea so I had to get rid of it.
There is a speed run community on this game?! Awesome
I so own this still and it works good games good games
Wow I must have gotten pretty far in this game as a kid then, I remember getting the jet boosters and being in the rainbow place

choroQ still my fav
1:27 i have childhood trauma of being lost in this fucking ocean
2:40 oh damn bro this island is taking me right back to my childhood. I really want to do something related to this game, art wise
Cool run. So glad people have speedran this game! How does the whole roulette thing work though? I don't understand that part of the run. Is it just for money?
Thanks for watching! Winning the roulette minigame gives enough money to buy needed upgrades to win the final race.
It took this man 12 minutes to become President.
I won this game in a vending machine for the ps2 when I went to go see dukes of hazard for the 3rd time
I need someone to answer this, stamp 28 can't be marked as done, I go under 8 seconds and it doesn't accept it, have I softlocked it?
are you playing this on an emulator? if so, how do you play it on pc, because this game was my absolute favorite when i was a kid
That is actually Mercedes-Benz 300 SL that are used by you
is there any explanation on why youre going through the ocean? does it skip some missions?
It skips the entire game:))

Does anyone know the composer of the game?
Why isn't this the #1 time on speedrun website?
R u playing on ps2 becoz i cant find it on any other platform and i dont have ps2
You can get an emulator PCSXR
