tysm for this video, and all your videos in general! i want to put more time into art, after i stopped for like two months and started to regress. after noticing the regression i contemplated quitting, but i didn’t. i found your videos and got very motivated! i want to help one of my friends make a manga, and now i feel wanted and art is starting to feel fun again. i like seeing improvement, drawing for fun, and doing stuff i like. i love when you said to compare your art to your old art, and that helped me so much. thanks for making these videos!
Man, it's like you're in my mind. I was starting to get sick of practicing all the time. Like, dont get me wrong, gesture drawing is very beneficial and I see the improvements but I was doing so many art "exercises" that I had no time left to actually draw sth fun. Had to make some adjustments. I still do gestures and cylinders and all that jazz but I set a timer and practice MAX 20 min. The rest of the time for drawing is fun stuff, like faces of people I like or silly meme style fanart. In fact, I dont do the exercises on the weekends, instead I draw what I feel like. And it works like a charm. I spent the entire Saturday just making my own version of the old "elbow drop" meme with characters from a game I am playing right now. And yeah, compared to my older stuff I see how my anatomy went up, shading went up and especially my lines are way more confident now. Take care of yourselves people! Don't lose the joy of our beloved hobby.
Nice message! I def Gotta pause sometimes and draw what I want, i love to see improvement but gotta hit that chill button fr before I burn out! lol great video!
I was legitimately just thinking yesterday how much I *LOVE* the sensation of being *INSPIRED* and I'm so Grateful that I'm *Passionate* about drawing again!! Recently there have been times where I thought of taking a break because some of my sketches weren't to my liking, but I kept telling myself *"draw through it"* and truth to tell, I was Right; the very next few drawings came out MUCH better!! So, any artist out there having a similar period where the desire is there but the quality isn't to their liking, *Draw through it!* You just might be surprised at what you come out with!! Plus, the Validation you get from not giving up will be *WELL WORTH IT*
Thank you so much for this video! this helped me alot. Iam very struggleing with this at the moment and i totally forgot why i even started making art. This video came at the right time. Thank you and God bless!!
Thank you! I'm glad this helped ya! I truly believe personal fulfillment from this art stuff is the most important! And that often includes having fun, at least for me. Practicing is a close second to that🙂↕️
My bad habit since forever has been to avoid anatomy practice like the plague :'D Nowadays, I've been more open to referencing... but pretty sure the non-anatomyness shows haha One day, I'm hoping all the reference 'practice' will amalgamate into Very Cool Professional-looking Drawing. _Fingers crossed._ This video has indeed been a VERY important reminder. I tip my hat to you, sir
It definitely will! You're adding to your visual library every time you do it, no matter how frequent! Wishing ya the best on your art journey! Let's keep having fun with it! :D
Thanks for watching!! Yeah, I use an ipad pro 2020, apple pencil and procreate for my studies primarily. Ive been learning clip studio in my free time as well

Im so glad the channel has helped out! Art is so much fun when you take the pressure off of yourself. Good luck with the manga with your friend! :D
