    This is exactly the type of book i want to buy pre-work :-) Don't care for CGC but that is a beautiful grade. Love seeing these conservation upgrades. I would keep this RAW for me personally.

    Really cool! It's so fun watching awesome comics get saved and have a new life! Eventually, when I have the time, I plan on getting into pressing comics but just for my own PC. Really great video!

    Absolutely amazing! Just curious, if you wanted to just go nuts, could have you HOP'ed or done additional BLEDs to eliminate the stains, or more aggressively reduce them, earning an even higher grade? Thanks for sharing this, what an outcome!

      I think it would have gone south tbh. Restraint is key

  • @David-xf2uh
    @David-xf2uh 3 місяці тому

    Incredible Joe! This makes me want to do it to a key also! Question: Did you do straight BLED or with H2O2? And HOP with peroxide or water?

    • @TopComicsPressing
      @TopComicsPressing  3 місяці тому +1

      No hop on this one. Bled was with peroxide overlay. See the disgusting ASM 300 and 316 videos

    This is awesome! Is there a reason for using the misting/iron process as opposed to using a clothes iron that produces its own steam?

    • @TopComicsPressing
      @TopComicsPressing  3 місяці тому +1

      Clothes iron would prob work. Would have to check temps. This iron is also smaller so more agile.

    I actually have a reprint of this exact comic, and the same thing goes do for amazing Spider-Man 300 they are facesimile i’m not really sure they’re worth anything though.

    Stunning work. I have to ask thou this seems to me and correct me where I am wrong but seems like a very fine line between normal and "conserved" grade.....a blue 7.0 given this amount of work..versus a normally protected 7.0 with none of this work with the same value seems wrong to me, I am sure many will disagree. However major props to your skills.

    • @TopComicsPressing
      @TopComicsPressing  3 місяці тому

      There is only a technical difference in definition between restored, conserved, and universal. Most people off the street would consider this restoration. CGC did not.

    • @jpl484
      @jpl484 3 місяці тому

      @@TopComicsPressing Can I ask how many hours you put into this book? i wouldnt call it restored because you made zero cosmetic alterations, but you did preserve and extend the life of a damaged book, hence conserved..either way amazing job....whats your TAT for new jobs?

      For work like this around 212. On covers, moderns, or spot hop lower

    Do you have a list of supplies and equipment you use? I’m trying to get into cleaning comics. My plan is to buy a bunch of bad looking 50 centers and practicing on those to start with.
