Luffy is in late stages of puberty (aka training into an adult) and he shown to have the strength to destroy small islands.

I feel like the island fruit would work like the user needs to get accustomed to the island. The larger the island the longer it takes to become accustomed to it. Might be able to merge with a Australia size island, but it might take him like 20 years. That would be a good balance for such a over powered devil fruit.
Seeing this glimpse of Garp's full power must mean that the Gear 2 enhanced punch he received from Luffy during Marineford must have felt like a mild breeze on his cheek.

But right now in enemy territory, he didn't hold back . His SWORD allies herded the enemy pirates right into Garp's impact zone while avoiding "ground zero,".

The Blackbeard we see on this chapter seems to have the same demeanour when we saw him the first time on Jaya, talking about dreams with a smile. Compare that to the Blackbeard we saw at Marineford or recently fighting Law, like he was possessed by a bloodlusting madness. It comes to mind that theory that Teach has several people/souls/personalities living in the same body. If that's true, I wonder what triggers each personality. I've been trying looking for clues.

i think the key to conquerers haki is the will to not submit to others thats why we only see it in people who either are top of there own thing and serve to no one, and charachters like zoro, releigh etc who are 2nd in command but not do to submition but out of sheer respect and understanding of the person they are "under"

He learned from that, I think. At Marineford, I think Garp convinced himself that Ace would be able to escape, even if he himself made token efforts to interfere with the Whitebeard Pirates. (And they were token efforts. Can you imagine if Garp punched Marco with that Galaxy Impact?) They almost made it, but, in the end, Akainu killed Garp's grandson. And Sengoku had to hold him down. Garp's not sitting back this time.
Also. Another major difference. Ace was a pirate. Koby's a marine. It's not a betrayal of Garp's loyalty to the navy for him to go and rescue his subordinate, even if it's against the rules for him to do it without orders.

This chapter to me felt like a short story of how compact it was. I really liked teach's dialouge with coby and we finally saw kuzan. Also, garp and the other members of sword were very interesting to especially the girl with the sniper (forgot her name lol) it seems her devil fruit isnt op so far im looking forward to see if Oda is going to make interesting fights with her.

I think his throwing cannonballs at water 7 was a good beginning to show his power level. It was clear that he was not someone to mess with, but it was also clear he was nudging Luffy to get moving because the Navy is on his tail.
I've always been a big big fan of Garp. Mostly because he's a hilarious and "free" person just as his grandson Lufffy. But when he's serious....damn.

I think that Coby is not actually at pirate island, it's a ploy. In reality, he will be used as a bargning chip at egg head island. Luffy will hand over Dr. VegaPunk to the marines to ensure the safety of Coby. Which is why we saw the black beard ship there.

I instantly became attached to the SWORD sniper. She's so cool looking! Kind of hope she and Usopp get to meet. Not because of shipping, but I just think it would be cool to watch Usopp talk shop with another sniper with unconventional ammo.
Also, just because I've seen some people blame/joke about Garp this chapter for the lengths he went to for Koby. I think this is what Garp would have LIKED to do for Ace, and would LIKE to do if Luffy needed him. But his loyalty to the Navy kind of forces him to stay on the side lines. Remember, he didn't really fight at all in the Marinefold war.
More like fear the higher ups over what they'll do to people close to Garp if he turns his back to the WG. Also if you notice probably all high ranking Navy have devil fruit powers. DF users are easier to control despite their ridiculous powers. How do you control someone like Garp who is not shackled by anything other than concern for his peers.
i like how he also called coby future of the marine cause yeah the marine does exist for a reason and asides from pirate like luffy and shanks who are in it for freedom there are plenty of plunder and stealing type pirates too so the marine exist by necessity but is tied down by the world government, the ending will probably have the marine completely ditching the world government

Spot on about the vagueness regarding both Pizarro and Vasco Shot’s fruit powers. Especially the definition of an “island”. Is the Red Line an island? It’s possibly too OP as an idea.
We need to start asking ourselves why is Moriah so important that they locked him up, instead of stealing his Devilfruit why did BB keep in alive. It just makes me think of Laws ability and how the Immortality surgery Works, if there something that the user of Moriahs fruit has to give there life to do like raise a permanent zombie. One that can't loose its shadow and gets a second life, if this is the case BB could use law to gain immortality then Moriah to resurrect Rox.
