The Marines feared Gold D. Roger because he undermined their false social order. They feared Rocks because he represents something even worse than themselves.
Rocks lived over 40 years ago. Which means that the island and scholars of Ohara were still alive when he was sailing the sea. So he might not have needed the three eyed tribe. It is even possible the Nico Olivia sailed with him and read the poneglyphs for him.
The rocks pirates likely had one job planned after god valley but needed the firepower to pull it off. Rocks fought garp and Roger and then ate the darkness fruit because he thought it would give him the power needed but didn't know about the pain amplification quality. This results in him begging for mercy as he dies from a gunshot to the back a cowards blow from a celestial dragon with a gun which is why kaido looks at his defeat the way he does and puts such emphasis on dying right and why white beard had similar beliefs about cowards wounds and being a man in death. This would also explain why garp hates celestial dragons so much as he was going to show mercy and arrest rocks but the dragon just murdered him in cold blood as he begged for his life.
Wouldn't that mean he couldn't die from a gunshot because he ate the dark fruit which is a logia? And I'm assuming a celestial dragon doesn't have the ability of haki
My wild speculation theory is that the darkness fruit is also misnamed, just like Luffy's fruit. I think it is a mythical zoan of death. Darkness is what awaits everyone, and all are powerless in its grasp.
Which is why Luffy is the "Sun God/Son God/Son OF God" Fruit. His powers, just like the real Son God of our reality, has the Superpowers to Overcome decay, death, and hell. The Symbology of Joy Boy is Christ after he resurrected, the Apostles didn't recognize him at first because Christ superpowers (Gear 5/ Transfiguration) were active. The only issue I have with the while "Blackbeard being Rocks" thing is the fact that he was on Whitebeard's crew for years. Assuming Whitebeard had observation haki, since we know he has the other two, you'd think he would sense the soul or haki of Rocks in Teach. Especially considering he was also in the same crew as Rocks for years.

We really need a movie of that God Valley incident. But off topic, the Cresent Moon shape port of Marineford was the aftermath of Garp / Sengoku vs Shiki fight. It was stated that Garp destroys half of the island and was probably the cause why that 'hole' in that port was created. Latest chapter punches more than the galaxy punch haha

If Rayleigh is Luffy’s uncle, as stated by Buggy, then odds are Luffy’s mom was on God Valley. Roger’s crew fights to defend Rayleigh’s sister, and Garp fights to defend Dragon’s wife. Also Buggy is the only character to have the same goal as Rocks, which is to be King of the World. Rock’s crew probably came together in a similar way that Buggy’s Cross Guild was formed. I bet Buggy is Rock’s son.
Also, let's not forget the members of the Rocks pirate all were in search of a "family" after they left each other. Which also brings home the theme that they absolutely did not get along to the point where they had domestic, mental issues that needed to be filled.
I think we will eventually see a flash back that reveials Roxx serves as the oposite of Rodger and his crew in the same way that Blackbeard's is to Luffy's. we can then see history repeat itself when Koby and Luffy team up to defeat the final boss just as Garp and Rodger did in the past.
I think you are right about this, especially with the recent release of the One Piece Live Action. Coby was surprsingly kept in the story, despite his time in the marine's being a coverstory in the manga. That combined with Garp being present for Rodger's execution (he was not in the manga), really adds to the Coby/Garp, Luffy/Rodger parallel. It makes me wonder what Rodger's and Garp's first interaction ever was like. It would be interesting if it paralleled Luffy and Coby's first meeting, Rodger inspiring Garp to follow his dream.

Another person that we realize who knows about the three eyes tribe is Black Beard, in the latest mangas, because he has Pudding captive while BB ship's is under attack by Laws crew.
Also take into consideration the fact that Whitebeard and his crew knew about devil fruits. Blackbeard even admitted that's part of the reason why he wanted to be on the crew. You have to wonder why Whitebeard would go searching for it to begin with.
I think, just like how luffy inherited Gol.D.Roger's will, blackbeard has inherited Rock's will. Both are in contrast to each other, making them both a natural enemy for each other.
i love when rock and god valley discussed, all people already said it's took roger + garp to stop rocks himself... when sengoku only said garp work together with rogers pirates to stop rocks pirates. yes maybe it is rock vs garp + roger, but it's also could be rock vs garp/roger and WB + kaido/+bigmom vs garp/roger or just a royal rumble.
My theory: Xebec was the former user of the Hito Hito no mi Nika model but he somehow turned into Darth Vader. That's why Shanks was after this specific fruit and why the marine protected it, this and the fact the gorosei and Imu knows the truth about Joy Boy. Second theory: Shanks is not so friendly and is actually Xebec's son.
Rocks D Xebec’s DF must have been the Yami Yami no Mi I bet. The power to nullify other devil fruits was beaten by the two strongest known non DF users Garp and Roger who allied unwillingly with no choice probably because they were the only two people in the world that were capable of stopping Xebec and the celestial dragons somehow got involved which is another missing piece to the puzzle Also Blackbeard is probably his son or related to him somehow and made it his early life mission to get the Yami Yami no Mi by whatever means necessary. I think Joyboy has to have an evil/ oppressive counterpart. And after seeing the video it occurred to me… What if Xebec is the Roger’s generation representation of Joyboy’s counterpart? I’ve always felt that Xebec has been very important to the story and now I think could be used to introduce this concept of Joyboy’s opposing side.

Maybe xebec was looking for kaido s current fruit and right before he ate it, roger showed up and because of the encounter, they sent garp out, during the chaos, big mom snuck out and stole the fruit then gave it to kaido. I’m glad that you mentioned how Blackbeard recruited the prisoners of Impel Down by having them try to kill each other. Because I think that’s what Rocks D. Xebec was aiming for when he formed his own crew, considering how he was an obvious inspiration for Teach. You see, what Blackbeard did in Impel Down was actually based on the kodoku, a form of Japanese dark magic where a bunch of poisonous insects are kept in a jar until only one remained. The poison of that insect would then be used to cast a hex on someone. This was done under the belief that this one insect survived because its poison was the most potent of all, similar to how Blackbeard selected the surviving inmates. In addition to explaining why Rocks Pirates were such a toxic crew (no pun intended), it would go well with how their captain was said to partake in taboo practices. Not only did he study a subject that was forbidden by the World Government, but he was inspired by something that could be considered a crime against nature.
It occurred to me... Vegapunk's Seraphim were based on the Seven Warlords to replace them. But do you think he stopped there? Kaido was allegedly captured a number of times and there's several prominent Marines including the Admirals. Do you think Vegapunk made Seraphim of the Admirals or Kaido as well??

Theory: Blackbeard as you may know is 40 years old while shanks is 39 and they were on roger and whitebeards crews. So on god valley we know that shanks was found by roger as a baby of probably 1-2 years. I believe that Blackbeard was also a baby of 2-3 years at godvalley. I believe that shanks and Blackbeard are both children of xebec, shanks being so young would have zero memory of what happened at god valley and would be completely out of the picture to do anything, but Blackbeard who would be the first born would be slightly older and still likely incompetent but still older. I think that somehow xebec may have sent some sort of message or something that told Blackbeard to get the dark fruit, or he could have just given it too him before dying. So In the chaos Blackbeard stumbled across a leaving white beard and white beard took pity and let him go with them, Roger did the same for shanks in finding him.

I thought Rocks/Rox was black? I honestly thought that teach was his actual son and he wanted to carry out his father's will. People saying Shanks is possibly Rock's son doesn't make much sense.
It's why I really doubt that Rocks D. Xerbec was ever an antagonist, I think he created the Davy Back Fight and that's how he got his crew, the reason why Big Mom back then didn't trust him was because he was too unpredictable and knowledgeable, and the last thing is some of the crew that we know of have parallels to the Straw Hat Crew, Kaido to Zoro, Whitebeard to Jimbei, Big Mom to Nami, Shiki to Sanji (ironic being that Shiki lost his legs) & Miss Buckin to Usopp.

Dragon's hair, the face of a 4th gear snakeman Luffy, a red shirt like Luffy's only with longer sleeves, a black coat draped over his shoulders, rolled up jeans and like Luffy sandals, that's how I picture Xerbec, he's a master of all 3 forms of Haki, and he does have the human human fruit model Nika what he barely uses until that fateful God valley incident, and like Luffy he's a hand-to-hand combatant, that's how I picture him.

What if Ochoku wasn’t even that strong as we believe but he just possessed the island fruit which now belongs to Pizarro? As we see in comparison to the Thriller Bark Pirate Island is huge and so Ochoku could hide himself the whole time from Blackbeard. As I think Blackbeard isn’t a conqueror which made him crave for the Yami Yami no mi even more. Maybe Coby is a conqueror and awakend the ability post Marine Ford or at the Rocky Port incident which finally helped Blackbeard in fighting Ochoku

I still believe the possibility of Rocks having the same missions as Dragon, or that Dragon inherit Rocks will. The only difference is that rocks is doing his mission using brute force, it is a fact that he went to god valley for one reason. Destroy the celestial dragons, and marine’s duty is to protect the celestials. Garp just did his job but doesn’t want to kill rocks. Roger after visiting laughtale ( which is way after they fought together to defeat Rocks ) Garp changes his mind on world govt but choose to stay within the system to fulfill his duty and maintain stability, even though he might not fully support its ideals. This adds a layer of complexity to Garp’s character, showcasing the internal conflicts he may face in balancing duty, loyalty, and personal beliefs in the world of “One Piece.”
i have this thought that, Blackbeard seemed to have changed alot after eating his dark dark fruit, almost like he took on another personality kinda like luffy with the nika fruit, and maybe rocks ate the dark dark fruit as well as why him and blackbeard both share the similarities with wanting to take over the world, black-beard didn’t finally find the fruit it found him.
It’s possible that God Valley was a place that had held secrets relating to Devil Fruits, namely how they could be created (ie, the desires and souls of men). I’m thinking that Rocks completed the process on himself, but after dying, his soul was split into 3 Devil fruits. The Yami Yami no Mi, the Gura Gura no Mi, and an unknown Zoan that Blackbeard may have eaten as a child, changing his body into what it is.

I gotta be honest, from what we have gathered so far. I can only assume that Rocks was the equivalent of Captain Buggy in Roger's Days. He had strong crewmembers to get his status up. His crewmates are ashamed to even share the story (said by Sengoku). Why would they be ashamed after being part of the strongest villain's crew? The rocks pirates likely had one job planned after god valley but needed the firepower to pull it off. Rocks fought garp and Roger and then ate the darkness fruit because he thought it would give him the power needed but didn't know about the pain amplification quality. This results in him begging for mercy as he dies from a gunshot to the back a cowards blow from a celestial dragon with a gun which is why kaido looks at his defeat the way he does and puts such emphasis on dying right and why white beard had similar beliefs about cowards wounds and being a man in death. This would also explain why garp hates celestial dragons so much as he was going to show mercy and arrest rocks but the dragon just murdered him in cold blood as he begged for his life.

My wild speculation theory is that the darkness fruit is also misnamed, just like Luffy's fruit. I think it is a mythical zoan of death. Darkness is what awaits everyone, and all are powerless in its grasp.

The only issue I have with the while "Blackbeard being Rocks" thing is the fact that he was on Whitebeard's crew for years. Assuming Whitebeard had observation haki, since we know he has the other two, you'd think he would sense the soul or haki of Rocks in Teach. Especially considering he was also in the same crew as Rocks for years.

Also Buggy is the only character to have the same goal as Rocks, which is to be King of the World. Rock’s crew probably came together in a similar way that Buggy’s Cross Guild was formed. I think we will eventually see a flash back that reveials Roxx serves as the oposite of Rodger and his crew in the same way that Blackbeard's is to Luffy's. we can then see history repeat itself when Koby and Luffy team up to defeat the final boss just as Garp and Rodger did in the past.
I think you are right about this, especially with the recent release of the One Piece Live Action. Coby was surprsingly kept in the story, despite his time in the marine's being a coverstory in the manga. That combined with Garp being present for Rodger's execution (he was not in the manga), really adds to the Coby/Garp, Luffy/Rodger parallel. It makes me wonder what Rodger's and Garp's first interaction ever was like. It would be interesting if it paralleled Luffy and Coby's first meeting, Rodger inspiring Garp to follow his dream.

I think Joyboy has to have an evil/ oppressive counterpart. And after seeing the video it occurred to me… What if Xebec is the Roger’s generation representation of Joyboy’s counterpart? Wait until one piece fans realize that a lot of huge characters are related to other characters. Dragons not garps biological son, and it's speculated he has a strong resemblance to rocks, possibly being one of his sons.
Maybe xebec was looking for kaido s current fruit and right before he ate it, roger showed up and because of the encounter, they sent garp out, during the chaos, big mom snuck out and stole the fruit then gave it to kaido.

I’m glad that you mentioned how Blackbeard recruited the prisoners of Impel Down by having them try to kill each other. Because I think that’s what Rocks D. Xebec was aiming for when he formed his own crew, considering how he was an obvious inspiration for Teach.
You see, what Blackbeard did in Impel Down was actually based on the kodoku, a form of Japanese dark magic where a bunch of poisonous insects are kept in a jar until only one remained. The poison of that insect would then be used to cast a hex on someone. This was done under the belief that this one insect survived because its poison was the most potent of all, similar to how Blackbeard selected the surviving inmates.

So on god valley we know that shanks was found by roger as a baby of probably 1-2 years. I believe that Blackbeard was also a baby of 2-3 years at godvalley. I believe that shanks and Blackbeard are both children of xebec, shanks being so young would have zero memory of what happened at god valley and would be completely out of the picture to do anything, but Blackbeard who would be the first born would be slightly older and still likely incompetent but still older. I think that somehow xebec may have sent some sort of message or something that told Blackbeard to get the dark fruit, or he could have just given it too him before dying. So In the chaos Blackbeard stumbled across a leaving white beard and white beard took pity and let him go with them, Roger did the same for shanks in finding him.

What if Ochoku wasn’t even that strong as we believe but he just possessed the island fruit which now belongs to Pizarro? As we see in comparison to the Thriller Bark Pirate Island is huge and so Ochoku could hide himself the whole time from Blackbeard. As I think Blackbeard isn’t a conqueror which made him crave for the Yami Yami no mi even more. Maybe Coby is a conqueror and awakend the ability post Marine Ford or at the Rocky Port incident which finally helped Blackbeard in fighting Ochoku

I gotta be honest, from what we have gathered so far. I can only assume that Rocks was the equivalent of Captain Buggy in Roger's Days. He had strong crewmembers to get his status up. His crewmates are ashamed to even share the story (said by Sengoku). Why would they be ashamed after being part of the strongest villain's crew? You could say '' Oh he wanted to murder a bunch of celestial dragons '' Get out of here. XD Most likely yes but also might be because he was a weak joke who had great luck. I have a theory that the representation of roxs of luffy's generation is buggy (I think buggy is actually power full he is just scare to use it)he start to gather a stronge crew with yonko level pirates like roxs.I think so that roxs is also a naive person like buggy.

I don't think Rocks ate the darkness fruit bec even WhiteBeard didn't recognize that fruit (his captain's fruit) when he fought BB or at least said something like "Long time since I've seen this power" or "This power again" if he knew about it he would've known how to deal with it or at least alert his family
