The ARMN reporting mark is that of the American Refrigerator Transit Company co-founded in 1881 by the Missouri Pacific (MP) and the Wabash Railroads (and later the Norfolk & Western). Somewhere around 1971 the partnership was dissolved and all of ART’s refrigerator cars (at least those that had private-company reporting marks) were given fresh reporting marks that didn’t end in “X”. In the case of the mechanical refrigerator cars, which had been lettered RMDX, they were re-lettered ARMN. This was the first use of the reporting mark which ended in the 1980s when all of the remaining ARMN cars were re-lettered into a UPFE series. The reporting mark was resurrected for the rebuilt former Fruit Growers Express mechanical reefers (now “Chilled Express” cars in the ARMN 900000-993999 series). It later spread to rebuilt UPFE and VCY cars (now in the ARMN 700000s), and has been applied to new equipment (the big cars in the 110000 and 111000 series).
I wonder if the graffiti “artist” spray paint their homes like this. I’m wondering if this is in the south end of NB. I was born there but moved away when I was 20; 45 years ago. Looks like the old theater in the background.
That’s crystal ice. Tracks end shortly after the bridge. FYI don’t move back, states all for finish the 2 T stations next year so they can flood New Bedford with more section 8 housing from Boston. Fall River is getting the same treatment. We’re becoming a dumping ground for Boston poverty. And no, there’s no jobs here, most of all the factories left after 1994.
yeah, I don't like the graffiti either.... it's like little kids with spray paint cans saying "look at me, look at me".... and the carriers have stopped using their revenue cars for any kind of self promotion, like at least a name or (yikes) a logo..... still, very nice to see a freight customer come back on line and actually increase their rail shipments... thanks for the nice catch... and yes, I model HO with limited space... all spurs short, no cars over 40' feet..... lots of little guys and it costs me less space and money....
I hate seeing graffiti on trains!!! It is such a sign of the times no respect for property or anyting at all. Downright shame. I remember one in New York a Porto Rican kid got Fried by the third rail in a yard of the subway. All of the Liberals were mourning his death. I pointed out that he was criminally trespassing with the intent to do damage, tagging the subway cars. I cheered with Glee because in my mind he got what he deserved. I was looking forward to graduating high school in New York and then becoming a motorman until the day I die. I stood up and told the class how much the city of New York spends combating graffiti. I was going to buy my mom's house and then once I accumulated enough seniority I would take the F line right through my neighborhood. It would be my train. I was going to get paid for playing with real trains. I would have done that for free hahahahaha!!!
always nice to see track restored. great video!

Thanks for another great video. I don't miss any of them and at this point I am almost caught up with all of your older videos.

There’s a lot for modelers here. So, you think there aren’t prototypes for short sidings? Here you are!👀
