Z your a good dude man. I really enjoyed watching you and Erick on the streams while I was on vacation over seas. People like you make this game exciting and really brought me back to the reason I like Gran Turismo. The community is just full of awesome people.
This is a great video! Very helpful for me as I've been able to reduce my lap times on this track over the last couple of weeks. Thanks for taking the time to put up videos like this and sharing your tips with others. Looking forward to seeing more videos and livestreams!
wow man, you're a really good driver. I've always played arcade racers on my ps4 and now bought my very first gran turismo... It's f...ing hard in the beginning. Together with the game i bought my very first steering wheel. I really love it and enjoy it .... but when i see you driving i realise i need a lot more practice and experience to even go online... Keep up the channel and the good work man. it's really helpfull. Greetings from Belgium......!!!
Tank you so much. Your guides are incredibly useful. I have improved my driving so much thanks to you! I'd love to see more tracks and specific aspects of driving covered (like trail braking previously)
Fantastic video as always, well explained and why to drive that way. Off to have a go now and see what i can do. Even at my age 65 you are still learning and trying to go faster. Thank you for your efforts and will be waiting for the next one.
This was really helpful! Tried to get a decent lap on this track for hours but I think with your tips I might squeeze out another second or two. Keep up the good work.
That's part of the goal. I want the community to grow and respect each-other. Sure, a little rubbing is okay, but not deliberate attempts to take out the other car.
Thank you so much for the awesome videos! I subbed as soon as I saw your other track analysis video, this is great. The commentary during that race was fantastic, and what a race. I can't even listen to my friend while I'm racing, much less give a meaningful commentary. I hope you make videos like this for all the tracks. I'm new to GT racing, but am loving it, T80 wheel. Rating-wise, my SR is "S", but my DR is only "D". I'm typically put in lobbies of all S-rated people, but the DR ranges from A to D, so I am typically near the back, but can usually make up a position. I drive like a bit of a powderpuff, I admit, as I don't want to hit anyone. What I need to find for this sim is a good set of explanations regarding the tuning settings, so I can understand what they do, and how they affect one another. But that is less important at the moment as I am mostly doing the daily races where that stuff is mostly locked down. I moved my TCS down to 1 so far, working toward zero, but haven't turned off the other aids yet. I figure I'll go one at a time, gently. I want to get to them all off as you recommended in your last video. Thanks again for the help!
You're welcome! Tuning is definitely complicated. As of last night, they locked tuning for sport mode, so hopefully you won't have to worry about it. However, I did hear that they changed the tracks again today? Who knows, but lets hope they keep the tuning locked so people can enjoy the game. They need to have an option for non tuning races.
Another Great video!! I have learned some helpful things from You. But I now find that as I have got a higher DR & SR the races are really close, but also a little bit dirtier, with people seeming to want to "win at all costs". A little bit zeroduck1 in the Porsche. I guess racing etiquette isn't his thing. But all the while you remained patient and were rewarded for that at the end. Another lesson learned for me. Your a Top Bloke 👍
Thanks Redline! Yeah, that's my approach. Take your time and wait for the right moment. When people are defensive like that they'll falling away from their line and most likely nervous. You'll get them sooner or later.
I'm glad you enjoyed it! Thanks for watching and I'm glad to be one of your favorite! The Full Nurburgring would be a very hard video to make, haha. That's even a hard track for me. It's all about memorization.
Z28Gaming I'll always watch your videos because even though I can't get home until Friday, you help me refresh my memory on the best lines, not only that but acceleration points & best braking points really help like you wouldn't believe!
Thanks Eathann! Hopefully I'll have an open lobby going, but first priority is going to be the Manufacturer race. I really want to try and attend that! But i'll definitely have an open lobby stream coming soon. I need to practice some more with everyone.
Top racer!, really enjoy your content and thanks for this great guide on Nurbugring GP! Hopefully you can do more of these, maybe one on Dragontrail - Seaside :)
Sup Z you're the best i wish you success with your channel very informative... I know this track but from trial and error... Had this video been made in gt5 days, it would've helped me more!.... *channel ideas... Do tuning tutorial videos.. The what's what and what it does".
I appreciate the channel idea. I don't know the ins-outs of tuning in all specific categories. I wouldn't want to give misinformation. Maybe at my leisure I'll start working on it to improve my knowledge and in the future this can be something for me to cover. Great suggestion man.
Yes, I can do brands as well. I'm going to check the sport mode events and see what's available this week and then decide on my next track. I'll keep brands noted since your comment was the first request I read!
Yea this helps a bunch I really enjoy watching thanks. And I think I upped my game but sadly there's nothing to do with the people that side swipes when there getting passed just hurts cause it effects your rating as well
Great guide to a track that is hard to get right. I haven't used any TC on it because it feels like it is slower on exits. I was wondering if you tried to add some camber to the front to help with the oversteer. Thanks for your great videos.
Hey dude, great guide video! Just interested to know if you've tried the Lewis Hamilton approach to the corner at 09:50 as you drive around the corner and he treats it as a double apex corner. What are the pros and cons to each technique? Thanks for your help, keep up the awesome vids!
Can you please please start a circuit experience training series or atleast basic training series on how to use manual, take sharp turns etc.... Keep up the good work :)
I'll try Sid. Lately, the online streams have been taking up most of my time. I want to get out a training guide for all tracks and then a circuit experience is a good idea.
Hey Z28, I love these vids, they really help me a lot! One question though: are you going to cover every single GT track? I would really want to see videos of Interlagos, Lagio Maggiore and Alsace Village as these tracks are fairly difficult to get right.
Everyone always tells me to not run TCS, and I'm always trying that and can definitely get a good hot lap but when the pressure is on, I use too much throttle out of a corner and loose it. Now I just switch from 0 to 1 or 2 during the race, but good point on the TCS.
The tunes are generally per-track. You can get away with using all these settings except the transmission on other tracks. The top speed will have to be adjusted.
i dont even have GT and the last Forza and GT i played was when Forza 5 came out. Still watching this though lmao. One dayy mann one dayyyy i will have a wheel and a sim
A tip for you, by all means keep the TCS on but instead of saying "floor it" try accelerating like you don't have it switched on and the TCS won't cut in so much, just use TCS for them ops moments.
Hi Z I realise that this was from a few months back but hope you will still see this. I found the guide really useful - so much so that I've been able to get pole position in many of my races here (not really that impressive as I am a low-ranked driver :) ). Which leads me to my question. The other night I had three consecutive pole positions here and every time I got dive-bombed on the sharp bend at the end of the starting straight and ended up way down in the pack. How do you defend against this sort of thing? On some tracks you can take a narrower, more defensive, line but the bend here is too sharp to make that viable. What's the best approach?

With the on-board cam you can't see those things and you're limited. I only enjoy on-board cam in VR. That's different because i can look through the side windows.
Feathering - As in slightly pressing the gas around a corner to prevent the tires from spinning. You would do this mainly out of slow exits. That's how i meant it.
I only did for the training aspect. I wouldn't have if it wasn't 10 laps. It takes so long to upload these and another 7 laps would have taken 3 more hours to upload on my end.
I chose not to show them when I first made my channel and I never changed it back. Maybe I will show them soon because I want to thank new subs for joining.
It's a bit of a shame to advice ppl to use TC for those races. It's obvious that guy in the Porsche didn't and drives a lot better and you would definetly have to use different lines and be more cautions on throttle. That's the reason why they have tyre deg - for me you should run without to be a better driver. Besides that great channel and good tips for beginners, go ahead - maybe see you on the nations cup ;)
I understand what you mean Kevin. I wasn't saying that you should keep it on all the time. I advised that it's a good place to start with this car & tune because it spins a lot. I also mentioned that I set my qualifying time with TCS off. The purpose of these videos is to help newer people learn the basics and have fun along the way. Throttle control on a faster car like this coming out of corners is difficult for people at first and you need to get comfortable before you turn off all assists. They have them in place for these reasons. Also, in real life GT3 cars are using TCS by default now. The days of pure driving without assists is fading away unfortunately.
Yeah, you might be right. From what I've noticed on GT Sport is the best way to get fast and I think that's why it is also not a bad sim as a lot say is to stay at the racing line. There you really have the grip to even play with the throttle. It's just learning without TC, being smooth on the pedals is the way to do it. Looking forward to more Videos from you!
Love your work man. Shaved a few seconds here and there with your tips! Any chance you can do a tutorial for this week's sport mode tracks? (Maggiore gr.4 and/or Suzuka gr.3) Thanks! Psn olismokes170
Really? I saw Suzuka last night and it was Maggiore backwards. I actually like it and hit a 1:10. What are the new tracks now? Also, is the tuning still locked?
I did last night and I love that. I disagree with the tuning aspect being implemented into sport mode. It's not fair for people who don't understand it. I hear that they changed the tracks again since last night. I'm not sure if tuning is still locked.

I think this series will stay for a bit!
Love these videos. No one else seems to do them, they're so helpfull. Keep up the great work.

Thanks for watching KarateKing! I'm glad to hear that. I hope you can shed some time off.
Thanks for the tips! I shaved off a whole second off my lap time and finally won at the Nurburgring!
Nice job Fabien!
I never watch live races but this got me hooked. Great job explaining and driving!
Thanks Christian.
Very nice tips mate... this really help to make some good and disciplined drivers... best wishes from Balkan ^^

Absolutely. You just have to stay focused and be consistent.

I love watching races like that. It looked nice n clean to me
Thanks Brooker! It's fun driving against competitive players.
I must say thanks alot. I use to be around 6 seconds slower then the top 10. Used all the advice you gave and I'm only half a second of top 10 overall
Thanks for your Track Tutorials! Amazing work! =)
Great channel and awesome race at the end. Thanks
Thanks, I'm glad you enjoyed it!

I average 1:36 on most short courses. Is that good??
Man love your work , can you Recommend a set up for this track but for a gr4 please , I’m using the Nissan genis please
Tnx, awesome driving)
Thank you Dimitry! I appreciate you watching.
hey Great vid I learned allot from it, are the settings of the car per track or did u make a Optimal setup that u can use on all tracks? TY
I feel as if you shift to early. If i am wrong explain why.
whats going to be the next video i cant wait for the next vid
Next video will be a training video. However, my next stream may be the manufacturer cup this Saturday! Hopefully I can make it.
A tip for you, by all means keep the TCS on but instead of saying "floor it" try accelerating like you don't have it switched on and the TCS won't cut in so much, just use TCS for them ops moments.
Hi Z
I realise that this was from a few months back but hope you will still see this.
Hi Z. You should do something about your audio setup. In every of your latest Guide Videos there is a disturbing clicking noise on the surround channels. I don't know where it could come from but it sounds like dropouts from compression algorithm (like mpeg fragments). Is there any bluetooth communication in you setup? Am I the only one experiencing this?
Check out the newest Mclaren guide. I changed the audio for you. I think I fixed it.
Do you always turn off stab mgmt, counter steering, and ABS off for your set ups? I didn't notice you doing that in the kyoto guide
Yes, it's always off except for ABS. You lose a lot of time if you keep stability management and counter steering on.
Is it possibile to turn off ffb??
I don't know why you would want that STAS, but technically you kind of can. In advanced settings during the race you can adjust the sensitivity all the way down. But if you don't want forcefeedback, buy a T80.
The FFS seted low is just a gentle reminder if you turn too much or not enough (oversteer/understeer)
STAS_GTA not sure why you'd do that, ffb is like the game communicating your tires+road to you. But it's in advanced settings.
Great work dude. But you really gotta stop telling people how to catch up with me! ;)
Haha!
What i need to do so i can play with u
That was real good
Thanks AJ. I'm glad you enjoyed it.
You're a fantastic driver. Do you recommend the traditional cam or the on-board cam? Does traditional make you faster as you technically see more of the road? Thanks
Use whatever cam makes you comfortable. Nothing makes you faster, but I choose traditional. It's a huge difference with how much i can see on my left & right. With the on-board cam you can't see those things and you're limited. I only enjoy on-board cam in VR. That's different because i can look through the side windows.
Is 2.01 lap time slow or average ?? I played a least 10 times to get this
What would you say is the best Gr.3 car?
Overall, I would say the Porsche 911 RSR.
What does "feather" means?
Apply half-throttle during the turns, mate.
Feathering - As in slightly pressing the gas around a corner to prevent the tires from spinning. You would do this mainly out of slow exits. That's how i meant it.
Thanks, great content man!
Great vid. I just need to make the switch to manual. And get a wheel!
Don't skip the races, I had a lot of momentum for the Nissan GTR vs Porsche
I only did for the training aspect. I wouldn't have if it wasn't 10 laps. It takes so long to upload these and another 7 laps would have taken 3 more hours to upload on my end.
Why we cant see how many subs u have?
I chose not to show them when I first made my channel and I never changed it back. Maybe I will show them soon because I want to thank new subs for joining.
It's a bit of a shame to advice ppl to use TC for those races. Really? I saw Suzuka last night and it was Maggiore backwards. I actually like it and hit a 1:10. What are the new tracks now? Also, is the tuning still locked?
