Dude that was very helpful -great to learn these concepts. GT Sport is the first racing game I've ever seriously played so this is a huge learning experience for me.
Thanx again man. You really help me to get better in this game. I see ur videos and besides the tips for that track in specific, I can also see tips for the driving in this game in general. It’s gold and It’s helped me a lot. Many thanks.
Thanks Z28. Thanks to your streams and guides I've improved my average lap times from being ~4 secs off the top 10 star times on the daily's to being always within 2 secs and occasionally much closer. Having the right rig/seat set up is critical though. If you can't modulate pedal pressure it's very difficult to be fast in GTS. Keep up the great streams man 👌
Thanks for making this! Turns out I was kinda trailbraking sometimes, but not correctly and not always in the right place. This video did help my times. Thanks again!
Thanks for these tutorials! I've used your track guides to go from being 3 seconds off the pace to getting pole and winning my first league race this week. I've picked up a lot of technique from your videos! 🙂
The secret is to watch the red dot above the rev counter. If it is further out than where the gear indicator is, on either side, do not floor it, you will spin. I discovered this whilst attempting to corner 'Steilstrecke' on the Nordschlieffe (the hairpin just before the Karussell), which had previously been some sort of troll corner for me. No matter the car, or the speed, I would spin out on that corner. Once I correlated that the spin was caused by how much I was turning the wheel, it was a simple process to not turn as much. You can make further adjustments to the turn limit by adjusting the acceleration and initial effect, in the differential.
Z28Gaming You’re welcome! I have a 1/3rd of your subscribers. Hopefully I get as many as you one day; except I do Forza Motorsport 7 video’s. Maybe I should do GT Sport video’s too. Btw, do you think counter-steering assistance should be off with a controller too and TC always off? I use a wheel too though. Another good question would be; do you think a wheel is faster? 😎💯
Great vid Z! A good understanding of what trail braking is doing is it's transferring the weight of the vehicle through the turn. Putting the grip on either the front or rear of the car when you need it. So keeping weight on the nose and when you release the break it puts it to the rear. Z, have you tried the T3PA Pro pedals? Just started using them in the Gt setup. They're nice
Ron Wertz That's exactly right! I try explaining things very basic for these tutorials. Regarding the T3pa pedals. Yes, I've used them before. I prefer the G27/G29 pedals, but the T3pa pro pedals are really nice. I've thought about getting them, but I may be using Fanatec soon with the load cell braking.
This is the one track that running TCS:2 does not affect speed at all. The hills, bumps, and corners are so exotic that you are not slower with tcs. I’d actually suggest simplifying this track by utilizing it. I’m on controller so I naturally am more inclined to use it.. but not for nothing my best Gr3 BOP time is 1:50.3
I wasn't sure about last chicane, after this video i know i was taking it to wide. In the last FIA Manufacturers race at Alsace I had 2nd position after quali. But after the start my race was totally ruined by some dive bombers idiots who pushed me off the track three times! Dropped from 2nd down to the last position, I was so angry that I just quit. So I want to improve my lap times at this track so I can left those idiots far behind next time. Thanks Z for this vid.
As far as view front bumper road view seems the best my go to but cockpit I feel I can see ahead of the cars in front of him like see when a turn is coming if that makes sense. Will be lots of trial and error. I want to compete and feel confident in next 7. Breaking and turning i have to get down.
@@OBYourThirst In terms of “competition” I feel the hood view is best. You’re a bit higher and can see over cars in front of you. If you use the radar and hood view it’s a really good match for competition 👍🏼🏁
How are posting those times. I may barely break 1:52 and no mistakes. It looks like your fish tailing quite a bit even took a high turn in the sweeper. Does having assistance on slow you down?
Brad Osborne No, you definitely don't want to use assist. A lot of time is lost for people breaking too late, or early. So if you break early, trail break into the turn and accelerate as quick as possible. 1:50 isn't too hard when you get the hang of it.
yeah some cars actually are much faster when short shifting, for example i was driving skyline gtr r34 in gt6 and i've done some testing and found out that short shifting is so much faster on the skyline for some reason, sometimes red lining the rpm doesn't really help much you are better of to shift before the red line and gain more speed faster
Strip Stripantiqua Only really sharp turns that force you to drive slowly. For instance, the second right turn at brands hatch. However, some people could still attempt a little trail brake on that turn. To be honest, it can be used quite often. But, only do it if you're comfortable.
Hi Z, I thought that exactly this turn is a good example when to do trail braking. For me I noticed, that I really do a lot of trail braking - but I am not sure that this is the fastest way for nearly every turn (except really sharp turns, as I learned before ;) ). Is it just experience to know how hard to brake in a specific turn ? For me it is impossible with trail braking to take a corner everytime with exactly the same Speed. Or is there a concept for trail braking like there is for 'normal' braking (start braking at brakepoint - stop braking when starting to steer) ?
the problem ppl are having in that corner is, #1 as you said, they're turning too much/too hard while trying to give it full throttle. but also #2, the "crown of the road", meaning the angle the road sits at. that's actually more of a problem then the amount of throttle being used. this same problem can be found in real life. that's why you see all these people who THINK they're drifters that have a screwed up fender and/or hood. i'd hope that people who race sims will learn from it. and get it thru their heads that there's more to going fast, than just putting the throttle down
Man one thing I cannot do the most is the trail braking. So I change the technique with half a throttle through the corners.. Trail braking is so hard man (at least for me)
Z28Gaming yeah just like to see how you get on I struggle with some of those....very challenging as cars aren't the best... would be a good insight. Im in a bit of a catch 22 situation trying avoid people to get my rating up
Bram Wopereis It depends on the class. For GR4 the best cars are the Audi TT, Megane, and scirocco They're definitely the quickest. (As of now) For GR.3 the BMW Z4, Porsche 911, RCZ, and Corvette are very solid choices. I'll say that Porsche is overall a great pick for both GR4 and GR3 though.
You have to go into the car settings under the "power" option and see where the car produces peak power. Wherever the drop is, that's where you want to shift.
Z28Gaming it’s fine I got it . You teach us very well . As for me I only need to understand more about how to setup the brake balance and why :-) ( im giving u too much work sorry 😐 ) 😁
Nunnito Miguel Haha, not at all. I'll explain break balance in a video sometime. Essentially, it's about weight transfer. Always remember that with oversteer (Ferrari 458 GR3) turn the break balance to negative and understeer (like the GTR GR4) put the break balance towards the positive side.
Mr Z, a CHALLENGE for you? OK, for the life of me, I can't get round here faster in Gr3 650s without TCS - add counter-steering and I'm faster again... Can I ask you to go to the Alsace Circuit experience and run both and show us the result? I want to be a believer in no assists! Tks for what you do.
Audy Bryan I think it's really good for the player who enjoys the sim experience. It's a lot different than GT Sport, but I find the game a bit boring. I can't explain it. Maybe it's the music. It's definitely more of a sim, but GT Sport has that addictive "I want to play more" feeling. Project cars 2 is a great game though.
I feel the same, Project Cars is more realistic like the engine will overheat, but lack of something that attracts you to keep playing like the daily races of GT Sport, which is actually similar to rank systems of online games like CS:GO or LoL

You're very welcome skydragon. Thanks for watching.
Not sure why your videos don’t get more views. These are amazing.
Thank you for making the video. So nice of you to to make videos like this, helps me a lot!
You're welcome Erik!
Excellent tutorials, Z. Learnt so much from you over the last few weeks. Thank you for the content.

I'm that guy who likes before watching because he knows the video is gonna be epic

João Pereira You're welcome! I'm glad they've helped! 👍🏼
Hey Z, another great video. Thank you for doing these!
JDubInDaClub Thanks JDubln. I'm glad you're enjoying the guides. I'm going to stay at these.
Awesome video man. I needed help with this track.
Excellent Video,I Have had Great results here but you just Learned me a Bunch! Thanks Man/
KENBO MilSim Awesome, I'm glad to hear that!

Great video! You should make one for every track like this, not sure if you were planning on that already or not.. keep it up :)
Ramon Brokking Thank you! Yep, you got it. I will go through all of the tracks. That's my goal.
Great vid Z. I just played alsace online first time today. It was like bumper cars . Horrible
KK It gets better...The more you play, the more you learn the crash areas. Also, you need to level your SR. It just takes a little patience.
Thank you for a great video!
Thx for the tips z keep it up :)
firefly1050 I appreciate if! Thanks for watching! !
Excellent video! 🤩💯
PRO WARRIOR01 Thank you Pro warrior! I'm glad you enjoyed it. Thanks for watching.

Wow! Thanks for that, my best is 1:49.7 (edit) with BoP too

You're very welcome Orzel. Thank you for watching.
never mind that i used the term "trail braking" wrong terminology. but you get what i meant
Hey Z - long time I wasn't watch your livestreams becasue since 3 weeks I have sick eyes conjunctivitis :(
PeterMac83 Hey Peter! It's good to hear from you. I'm sorry about the eyes...Hopefully you get better soon
Z28Gaming - Thank You Z, I hope so
Bro I think this video explained about what I needed trail breaking and not running into people and they won't run into if they are driving correctly
I’m glad to hear that 👍🏼 A lot of my old stuff was helpful. Good to know 🏁
As far as view front bumper road view seems the best my go to but cockpit I feel I can see ahead of the cars in front of him like see when a turn is coming if that makes sense. Will be lots of trial and error. I want to compete and feel confident in next 7. Breaking and turning i have to get down.

Notice Z typically has very good exit speeds and it's because he's so damn consistent!
Ron Wertz Thanks Ron! I appreciate that.

Thanks, just want to clarify that this is with BOP on? Great instruction btw.
Brad Osborne Yes, I use BOP for everything.
Brad Osborne Also, keep in mind this video is old. The physics have changed a lot. However, these times are still realistic.
yeah some cars actually are much faster when short shifting, for example i was driving skyline gtr r34 in gt6 and i've done some testing and found out that short shifting is so much faster on the skyline for some reason, sometimes red lining the rpm doesn't really help much you are better of to shift before the red line and gain more speed faster
Z can you do a tutorial on Suzuka next? Great vid btw!
Thanks for watching Miller! Yes, Suzuka is next on the list.
thx for this insight knowledge. But can you tell me, when NOT to trail break
Strip Stripantiqua Only really sharp turns that force you to drive slowly. For instance, the second right turn at brands hatch. However, some people could still attempt a little trail brake on that turn. To be honest, it can be used quite often. But, only do it if you're comfortable.

Man one thing I cannot do the most is the trail braking. So I change the technique with half a throttle through the corners.. Trail braking is so hard man (at least for me)
What are your force feedback settings? I'm currently running 1 1 on my t300rs, anything higher feels too strong imo.
jNA5t33 1-1 is way too light. I'm at 4-2, just feels.more natural
3-5
V useful :-)
randallpatrickc Thank you Randall!
Can we see some race a and race b dailies?
Ma La You mean doing a live stream with A/B daily events? I always do B/C. I find the slower cars a bit boring, but I wouldn't mind doing it.
Z28Gaming yeah just like to see how you get on I struggle with some of those....very challenging as cars aren't the best... would be a good insight. Im in a bit of a catch 22 situation trying avoid people to get my rating up
Does anyone know what cockpit Z28 uses?
Hi, what are the best cars to buy? I Just got the game. I was thinking of a porsche, McLaren or a renault
Hey Z , how do you check the perfect spot for shifting ? Or how did u realise that u r shifting at the wrong spot ? Hug
You have to go into the car settings under the "power" option and see where the car produces peak power. Wherever the drop is, that's where you want to shift.
Z28Gaming alright , thanks man
Nunnito Miguel You're welcome! Let me know if you need a more detailed explanation and I'll show you.

Do this track in the beetle.. gr3
dustin riddle The GR3 beetle is a solid car for all tracks. I've been enjoying the 911 rsr lately.
Mr Z, a CHALLENGE for you? OK, for the life of me, I can't get round here faster in Gr3 650s without TCS - add counter-steering and I'm faster again... Rip controller user
Tun Piccolo A lot of people use controller. Don’t worry about it. Dodgelamb made top 12 at the world final and he uses a controller...
