It was wonderful to see you both out with your sons teaching them about the great outdoors! I was going to say teaching them to be men but I’m a girl and I love the outdoors and fishing so…it’s okay for girls to like this stuff too. So I’ll just say teaching your sons about the good life and spending time with them. ♥️ This was a fun video. Thanks!
Fun to play with it all. And the fact that we still got out and enjoyed the beauty of the river says it all. The gear matters, but getting out there matters more!
This a great experience. So much of real life. I particularly loved the bit about getting the cheaper yak because his son is into fishing and he made sure there was extra to get fishing gear.
Right! I loved that too. I thought for sure he’d get the bigger Tahoma kayak, but he 100% had his priorities straight. Can’t wait to see how Paxton builds up the Kayak for fishing.
Helps to not have sales tax! In Ontario (Canada) it's 13%. >_< It's amazing what you can do on a budget, though normally I would say $300 is what one should spend on a good _paddle_ alone.
Hahah I would tend to agree. If someone is really wanting to outfit themselves for proper kayaking investing $1500-2500 is still a great value considering it’s a one time purchase. But I tell you what that $40 Walmart paddle was better than I expected. Basically it’s a Chinese knock off of a Werner Camano, but just waaay heavier.
@@HeadwatersKayak - Yeah, totally agreed; I tell folks you should aim for at least $1200 Cdn (for new) or up 'cause folks that grab a lot of cheaper stuff tend to end up replacing it down the road. On a budget though, there are often _really_ good deals to be found used if they have a look through the various digital classifieds. And yeah, that paddle really surprised me. I'd worry about the strength of it when put under higher power moves like a high brace, but then, a person buying it for recreational paddling wouldn't be doing that anyway. I have a Werner Camano myself - that's the one euro paddle I kept, though I rarely use it these days in favour of my traditional paddles.
Can you please tell me what kayak would be good for a beginner to do mostly calm water, kayak in camping. I think l would like a sit on. I will be taking a few lessons. I would like to buy after that and l am not interested in white water kayak not my tthing. I have been watching your channel for a bit and have come to the conclusion that you are very experienced. Not interested in fishing and no budget, but don't want to spend a fortune as lm a beginner.
@@HeadwatersKayak Very strange kayak, 12 footer, 265 lbs max limit, seems low, looks a bit like a Field and Stream, rumor has it Dicks's isn't carrying F&S anymore. As I recall you are 6 foot plus, long legged, really liked the Field and Stream, just thought you might want to investigate it, seems like an outlier. Like your reviews. 👍 👍

Doing this with your son's is awesome. Really enjoyed watching you guys having fun.
Thanks so much. He edited the whole thing too. It was a fun project
this was a fun video.
Oh this was SO much fun to watch!😹
Loved the concept and the competition and especially having the kid's input! Another please😉
This was pretty cool to watch. Make some more like it 👊
I like the low budget ideas as much as reviews of the expensive stuff.

You two never fail to entertain 😂😂😂
Man, walmarts around me never have hardly any kayaks in stock. What a selection
Bend Oregon is a mecca for rec paddling. No surprise that they have huge stock. In 2020 they had no kayaks.
You guys are so cool love the idea of stretching a buck! 😂 Not everyone can afford a $1000 kayak.
If you want to get rid of a budget kayak, let me know! I want to get into the sport but can’t justify spending the money with other expenses.
like to point out the kid was smart enough to realize walmart has fishing gear

Omg! That sunset is beautiful.
I haven't seen pool noodles in the store for the past two seasons!
HIlarious thanks for that
What a great video!! This is why you two make kayaking fun. BTW that sunset was awesome.
Glad you enjoyed it!

Wilderness Tarpom are great, Feelfree Moken, eddyline Caribbean is a little higher end but a great choice
That shopping cart race reminded me of the goofy stuff I did in my youth. Good changeup video from your regular reviews.
It started out as a joke that turned into a mission. We had a blast. Hope to do more stuff like this on the channel.
It's a shame how my local Walmart here in Florida stores their kayaks outside in the hot sun and rain. They are already faded and dry rotted.
It’s crazy!
You have more fun at a Walmart than me. Lol. Love your videos and I’ve learned a lot from them. Thanks.
It's always more fun when you're spending your buddies money! Highly recommend it. 🤣
Fun video.
There’s no sales tax in Oregon?😳😳
Nope!
Yknow I’ve always loved Oregon’s beautiful landscapes😂
Have you looked at Dicks's Quest Silvermine?
I believe it is their brand?
I have not.

Like your reviews. 👍 👍
Great video!
Thanks DJ!
This is by far my favorite video that you have done so far.
😂 super fun to watch. Much more entertaining than usual. Loved it. You guys have great kids.
Thank you so much 😁
Love this content. Fun to watch.
Guys day out!! Love it!
This was awesome! Maybe you could do something similar with used boats?
Cool idea!
So fun! 👍😁🌅
Dad and son team fishing face off but the dads gotta fish out of the Walmart kayaks lol
That’s a great idea
This made it to the top of my "entertainment list" for the week!!!...Well done guys!
Right on! I was really hoping the fun we had would come across. Loved having the kids on the channel.

Fun idea! Still looks smoky out in Bend!
Yes it was smoky that evening. It kind of drifts in and out. Made for a killer Sunset though.
Cool man. More please!
You got it!
Nice video!
Thanks!
Sweet 👍
Thanks 👍
Got my Pelican Intrepid at Walmart last year. I have gone on many fun intrepid adventures with it. 🛶
It’s a great boat for the $$
@@HeadwatersKayak that’s good to hear,
