  • Part 3. Installing a new roof system on my truck camper. This is a 50-year roof membrane system from Crazy Seal. I installed a new plywood deck, sealed all seams, then installed polywall panels over the wood deck and taped all seams. Then the first coat of Crazy Seal goes on, all seams vents and skylights sealed. Let that cure for 24hrs and apply the final coat of membrane. This gives an 80mil roof membrane.
Starting the RV Roof Replacement on my truck camper. This is a 20 year old roof that needs replacement. I'm installing a 50-year RV roofing system that includes plywood deck, a 60mil Poly Sheet, sealing all edges with Eternabond type sealant tape and application of Crazy Seal RV Roof.

I like that you are replacing your ac unit with a max air fan. Great idea for energy savings when you boondock

Yeah, that AC was 105 lbs including the ceiling unit. It was really overkill for this size space. I bought a 5000btu unit to put in a lower cabinet with intake/exhaust ventilation baffles. It only uses 400 watts so with 600 watts of solar power and the LifePO4 batteries I should be able to run it when needed off of the inverter. More testing on that in a future video.

I think your camper is in better shape than our 2013. You’re doing a great job!

After watching the process you've gone thru to this point, I'm 200% certain that my lance roof replacement will be hired out. 😁 there are no soft spots that I can tell..if you want the job, next late spring would be perfect. I'm in red bluff.

Have you considered a Heki Hatch Skylight replacement for that front escape hatch?

I have. It’s exactly what I want there and I may replace the current hatch style (new just like the original) with a Heki style hatch. I’ll wait for the prices to come down a bit. My rv parts dealer wants nearly $500 for the size I need. (28”x20”)

@@covetthecamper2289 Heki is owned by Dometic now. Their PR Dept may want to "sponsor" your project. It would be great marketing for them and channel exposure for you. Give them a email and see what they say. You never know until you ask. Cheers.
