I have never seen that Very Best of Erasure until now. Getting that Oak Ridge Boys belt buckle may be pretty difficult at this venture. I remember buying the Throwing Muses debut in the eighties. At that time. The only way that you could get a vinyl copy of it was to buy the the UK import. Newbury Comics and Tower Records never let me down. They supplied all of the import 12 and 7" pressings from every alternative band that was getting their name around in the eighties. That includes The Smiths. I can honestly say that I never bought a Bobby Sherman album. Could I have missed out on a lot of super Sherman singles? Always good to see you Craig. Nicely done~

I'm kind of torn about getting the new Cowboy Junkies album. Excellent, but to me it's a CD and I have such a history with it in that format, plus, I read that this vinyl re-issue doesn't sound that great due to packing so much music onto one record. "Sweet Summer Loving" from that Dolly Parton album is an absolute delight. "Ozark Mountain Jubilee" from the Oak Ridge Boys album is pretty great, too. It was a hit single and is a ballad. "I Guess It Never Hurts To Hurt Sometimes" was the other single. it's pretty good too, another ballad. The Andy Taylor single "Take It Easy" was all over MTV when it was new. I agree, not a great song. "American Anthem" movie is terrible too. Some 80's nonsense about some dude training for the Olympics in gymnastics, done with a "Footloose" feel. Terrible. You need some real Tommy Roe with the hit versions and his face on the cover. "Let Love Rule"... one of the best Lenny Kravitz albums, one of the few 90's albums I have on vinyl. The "Dark Child" thing was annoying. Great finds, let me know what you think of "Ozark Mountain Jubilee".

I think for me it’s that vinyl is my preferred source for listening. I don’t really have much on cd anymore and nothing to play them on (except the car). When an album is so special to me vinyl is the only format I desire. So in that aspect it’s perfect. I haven’t heard the cd in so long so I’m not sure if the vinyl sounds better. I do know it sounds better than the digital options that are out there.
I will let you know when I listen to the Oak Ridge Boys. I really, really desire that belt buckle!!
Lenny’s first three, maybe four records are where it’s at!

I love that Prince album! The song Most Beautiful Girl in the world is one of my favorites from him. In that music video is Vanessa Marcil (one of my favorite actresses).

Thank you so much Criag for mentioning the Cowboy Junkies Lay It Down, I didn’t know it was out! I so enjoy the Trinity Sessions and look forward to picking this up. As a Cocteau Twins fan are you also a Lush fan too? Speaking of angelic voices The Innocence Mission is one of my favorites - Karen and Don Paris are a wonderful husband and wife band. 100% fewer doilies on the covers of their albums. Throwing muses also a favorite, The Real Ramona is on my wishlist! I am a little jealous!

I love Lush! I only have the greatest hits on vinyl. I really need to remedy that. I’m pretty sure they just reissued their catalog. I’ve never heard of the innocence Mission. I’m looking them up now. Thank you for watching. Let me know what you think of Lay it Down. I think it sounds good but other people are complaining.

@@CraigsVinylPlethora just got Lay It Down today, and it looks like there's almost 28 minutes on side 1 and 27 minutes on side 2. Anything over 22 minutes per side can be an issue with a 33 1/3 release, but for some reason this sounds really nice. I have the CD and it sounds just as good to my ears. Maybe it's because there isn't a huge dynamic range in the music to begin with.

@@musicinthehouse I’m glad you got it! I haven’t heard the CD for years (got rid of most of my CD’s years ago). I had only recently heard it streaming and the vinyl sounds way better than that!

Jaimie got dat low key pimp shirt :D
I got the red vinyl Scarlet's Walk by preordering it when it went up. It sold out and there were people trying to sell that version on eBay for $400 BEFORE IT CAME OUT. Like "I preordered it for $30 and when it arrives you can have it for $400". But Amazon printed a bunch more even though it was supposed to be a limited run.
The cover change of Into the Labyrinth is lame, why bother?
I have the FULL American Anthem soundtrack AND I have the movie on VHS. The movie is like a gymnastics sports movie trying to be Flashdance.
    Later Craig!

I saw the red version after I purchased the black. I’m so tired of people buying all the good stuff just to resale it at a ridiculous price.
Redfern is the original pimp! Spectacular!
I don’t know why they changed the cover of Into the Labyrinth. The original was iconic.
I don’t think I have any desire to watch American Anthem.

So all the hype about a new Cowboy Junkies album was over a reissue on vinyl of a release that previously was only available on CD?
I have that same Dead Can Dance debut, I love it.
    "It's almost autographed!" LOL

CJ did have a new record this year. But yes this is the first time Lay it Down has been on vinyl and it’s an absolute treat for me!

American Anthem starred the dark haired gymnast from the 84 Olympics Men's team (Sorry, Craig, just too too lazy right now to even IMDB his name, obviously his acting career didn't stick the landing if I can't remember his name) and it's bad. Not bad in a fun campy way, but bad in this movie really sucks kind of way. And Andy's not not cute, he's just had the misfortune of being in a band with two much hotter Taylors, John, being the most perfect Taylor ever.

    • @CraigsVinylPlethora
      @CraigsVinylPlethora  11 місяців тому +1

His name is Michell Gaylord (why do I find that funny?). I’ve never heard of or seen the movie. John is the best and hotter Taylor. Absolutely agree!!
