Also bring back hand checking and refs that will call the games with integrity. IE , palming, carrying, double tribling, traveling and walking
Nah dumbass take. If you think podcasting is killing the NBA and not 55% of shots from the best team being 3s your head too far up your own ass. Draymomd podcast is more successful and brings a more insight on the game. In PGs case it might make more sense for his specific contract having a stipulation on games played for extracurricular activities but Embid doesnt even have a podcast, is more important to the sixers and has missed more games. Zion literally eating himself out of the NBA and no podcast to go with it
@unless the NBA removes the 3 point line then the amount of 3s will continue to go up. Its realistic that in 3 years the celtics are taking 60 percent of all shots from 3. Mathematically the 3 is too strong and provided perfect spacing that opens the lane for layups and dunks
@@ghostofhannibal2587the post player with actual skill can create open shots instead of step back three. Shooting more threes and not making them at a high percentage is lowering the IQ of players. The game has been dumbed down enough.

I mean I get flashbacks to MJ's trainer in the Last Dance - when MJ lost to Orlando when he came back from baseball he said "Hey, if you're gonna take 3 hrs out of your day to watch me play, I have an obligation to give you my best, every single time". No pointing fingers etc. He knew that there was gonna be a person in the stadium who had never seen him play before and he would make sure that person would get to see him at his best. He trained like CRAZY in the offseason WHILE filming Space Jam and DOMINATED the next season. Can only imagine if Embiid had the GOAT's mentality off the court to truly be his best. Sheesh.
I honestly enjoy this. Makes me respect my favourites even more. Say what you will about A.I and Kobe being "Inefficient", they balled, injuries or not. I'll take toughness over anything I've seen in today's sport.
@LiveLongAndProsperHonestly the people who hate on kobe and called him a bag hog in his prime and justifying why he averaged so many points. But the only time he was really Inefficient was after the acilles injury
Kobe broke his finger mid-game and _kept playing_ Embiid would use that as an excuse to take the rest of the season off. And not just him. The league is just a bunch of spoiled, immature boys goofing around. It used to be men like Jordan and Bird leaving it all on the court every. Single. Game. They were so intense you could almost see a DBZ aura coming off them. Now we get LeBitch taking defense off so he can complain to the ref. Players don't care about the game, or winning. They get their hundred mill and play like they're retired
If it were up to me, their pay would he cut by 20-percent every time they miss 20 games during the duration of the contract until it hits league minimum. That way teams have the cap space to sign other players.
YEP! Perhaps even pretending the injury is worst than it really is. Because they are NOT motivated anymore to play, since they get paid if they played or not. UNlike MJ, Kobe, and even LeBron who has the CHAMPIONSHIP DRIVE and the TEAM winning mentality.

Literally every great white player throughout NBA history since the ABA merger (Bird, Maravich, Stockton, etc.) has been consistently overlooked in positional GOAT conversations. Bird is the only partial exception to this, as most NBA fans, players, and commentators have come around to acknowledging how great he was, but he stills catches unwarranted shade from time to time (e.g., he wasn't athletic, he was slow, he's not one of the greatest 3-point shooters). If you need convincing, consider the fact that Stockton leads the NBA in career assists AND steals, and yet virtually everybody is in consensus that Magic, Steph, and Isaiah were all clearly better PGs than him. There's no logic behind it besides prejudice against white players

Mannnn as a sixers fan , all of this hurts lmaoo. I was a huge embiid fan, patiently waiting for him to mature into that superstar caliber type player, it’s so unfortunate this organization never nipped the bad habits in the butt, now it’s too late and the fans are over this clown show
I mean he’s always injured but that’s not his fault, sixers organisation has been poor since they won last in 1984. Why they extending his contract when he’s clearly 30 years old with huge injuries?!? If someone is offered more money then of course they not turning it down but front office should never have done that! And even if you take that chance then you can’t pay PG who is 34 and injured a lot as well. Embiid is immature sometimes but can’t blame him for being hurt anymore than Greg Oden, Grant Hill and Penny etc
They already have too much to the point that most players on each roster can be replaced by g leaguers. They need to force shitty owners to sell teams. Owners aren't penalized for tanking, especially with collective media right money distribution and the undersaturation of teams. Even shitty teams like the pistons sell out arenas and collect hundreds of millions in media rights just for existing in a large enough market. As the population of America increases and basketball becomes the dominant sport, most teams are way too profitable, but the NBA barely ever brings in new franchises.
The very idea that Paul George and the Sixers have the record that they have, and he continues to do his podcasting like things are just great, astonishes me.
Joel is supposed to be one of the NBA role models. Bro if they want to load manage do what the spurs did back with Tim Duncan and the rest of the spurs. Imagine what Joel would do if he had to work back to back days in a normal job 😂.
I would say Joker and Giannis are the most reliable when it comes to showing up and showing out and also maybe Curry but Curry started the whole overdone 3 point madhouse shooting to begin with so I'm kinda shaky when it comes to him.
Shooting threes doesn't discount somebody from being a superstar, dude. I'm 54, and I've been watching basketball since the late 70s, and even I'm cringing when I read stuff like that. No, the reason we don't have superstars anymore is that we know too much about these dudes. Social media, podcasts, too many damn interviews, and too many narratives pushed by commentators and "hot take" artists, have turned these guys all into regular people. There's no mystique to any of them.
As being the leader of the team, this is truly pathetic on Joel Embid’s end and he needs to do better. Paul George ain’t slick either, they’re paying him too much money just for him to be a full-time podcaster and a part-time hooper.
Adam Silver's voldemort looking ahh is to blame. He created a whole player participation policy to prevent players from sitting out for no reason but load management has only gotten worse since.
There are alot of players that get paid alot because they have the name and built a reputation and for what they have done in the past. But when it comes to what they are doing in the present they don’t pull their weight or meet expectations. It’s like they pay them for what they could do not for what they are doing.
Look at every era of basketball and how the game thrived under stars like Magic, Bird, MJ, Kobe etc. Lebron comes along as the next star….the game goes down the toilet
LeBron started this nonsense and got away with it, now this is where we've ended up. When they turned the league into a circus, don't be surprised when it's full of clowns.
Solution is don't pay players ridicilous salaries, chill on that shit, if they want to leave that is fine, build around the guys that want to stay... Guys that are not going to get you a chip, that dissapear in the playoffs, that don't care. Don't reward them and another thing, players need to achieve something to get a max conctract. You didn't win and you want the max? Sure buddy, that needs to change. Players not going to work and getting paid, that is what is happening here...
Thing is, aren’t teams guilty as well of resting their stars since they consider them investments. I think it should go both ways. Stop resting players who are healthy and players should stop being divas while earning so much putting a ball into a hoop
Can you tell the future though? Imagine if they didnt pay Giannis, Jokic, Tatum and Brown the max before winning it all. Or even not paying Curry the max after failing to make the playoffs 2 years in a row. They would just leave and win somewhere else.
@@arguseyed9982 Change the concept, this is not working out.... giving 2-3 guys the majority of the money and not winning it all, what are those millions for? Ever checked the HOF bar? 9 all-stars alone is a HOF career 11 all-leagues is a HOF career When he retires he'll be on many longevity records lists, like top 50 in total points, steals, 3pts(top10) and a bunch of advanced stats and analytics. Despite the memes, he did play a lot of games in the playoffs and accumulated enough stats to be a top 100 even in rebounds. And all those stats alone would grant him a place in the HOF. For comparison, look at Grant Hill or Tim Hardaway. They got nothing on PG in almost any aspect and are HOFers.
@4:58 What world do we live in where a player has more podcast videos after the start of a NBA season than games played?!? And this is more than a month after it started.
Embiid has always been one of my favorite players ever since he first came into the league. He had some Hakeem Olajuwon in his game and that drew me to him. But man, am I disappointed in Embiid. At the end of the day, I can’t hate on the man and I wish him the best

Idk how the sixers front office didn’t see this coming. You combined 2 of the 4 most unreliable “star” players in the league. It sucks for the fans, but the decision makers who signed those two guys absolutely deserve the season they’re having
Players got too much power, and this is what it generates. They act like they're doing someone a favor playing ball for money. Now Jokic, the one people love to say that he hates the game and can't wait for the end of the season to go home, hardly misses any games.
I see that you got inspired by Robin from SnR with the sponge bob "I don't really feel like it". Just heard it today. Love the inclusion of meme clips. They make the video funnier and more enjoyable to me. For some reason, it took me some time to understand the appearance of Iverson in your video. With time passing, in my mind, the standard of the 76ers are so lowered that I seem to refuse to acknowledge that it is the same city and team. No respect for this era! Iverson was phily, hearth, respect for the fans and the game. Maybe he didn't feel like to have the need to practice but gave it all on the court. These dudes nowadays do not show to work. Fra-gi-le, soft feminine dudes!
Dr J. Was a ambassador not just for the 76ers with his class, respect, integrity and love for the game of basketball and the fans. He was a ambassador for the entire league
the truth is these guys aren’t superstars. they just look good during the season because there’s no defense. that’s why they always come up short during playoffs
Why blame Joey when the 76ers owners gave him the green light to said it. After Joey said he won’t played back to back, he would have already suspended or fine by the 76ers.
I don’t know if the video title is 100% accurate. The NBA suxs now because load management, 748 3’s per game, no defense, no rivalries etc. Players make too much money to try and even pretend to care. I mean they had to make a in season tournament to get players to play harder.

Joel Embiid and Paul George on their absolute worst day is still better than Ben Simmons. Simmons is the biggest disgrace in modern NBA history. He got psychologically broken by Atlanta Hawks well known rim protector Trae Young
The only people to blame for this are the owners. If they would stop paying lazy, broken down losers like they were superstars, then maybe the league would begin to get back to greatness.
Most jobs have this thing where if you dont work you dont get paid. Its a crazy concept. Like if you arent working then you dont get paid absolutely mind blowing
Embiid is a choke artist, but he really went off the rails went Jimmy Butler left Butler really is the last of his kind of working hard, no bs because Butler isn't supposed to be this good, but he has impressive work ethic that propelled him to where he is today
When Embiid drives to the basket he doesn’t even really jump anymore. He does alittle hop. Gets a Vertical of 2inchs then lifts his feet up. Shoots then falls. Philly is FD!!! 😂
As someone who stopped watching NBA back in about 2010, then came back last year in 2024, Embiid makes me sick. His mindset is a plague that's spreading through the league. Embiid and his disciples need to be purged from the league in order to save it, but Adam Silver is softer than ice cream in the July sun and won't do a damn thing. Dark days ahead for the NBA. It's going to he a new 1970s when the league almost went completely under. Only the Magic-Bird rivalry saved it back then. I'd rather have Caitlyn Clarke in the league than Embiid. At least she gives a damn
It really is a very simple fix. If you miss half your games, you only get half your pay. That's how the rest of the world works. The owners can use the other half to fix their arenas or whatever.
I laugh when I think to myself about how many of these dudes will have documentaries made about themselves, and how much pressure they were under their whole careers. They'll promote them on their podcasts where they also tell us how challenging they had it as a player who chose to be a loser 😂😂 this era of the NBA is such a stain
I stopped watching nba last year. Didn’t care for the regular season but did watch the playoffs until it was obvious Celtics were gunna win. Still haven’t watch a game this season. The game is terrible these days
Barkley is so jealous about the amount of money these guys are making because he didn't make that money he was playing. Barkey get over it. Today's players make their own rules no need to cry about it that's the way it is. Easy fix. Don't watch.
Did anyone look at these guys’ medical history? Their bodies, their joints in various parts of their bodies are just shot. They can only continue playing to intense medical management and pain control. Yes, they are overpaid relative to their ability to stay on the court but simply saying “play basketball” is ignoring the reality. Embiid and George are physically not capable of playing entire seasons. They are exceptional players when (relatively) healthy but their underlying medical conditions are beyond fixing. They can only be managed. Should a club take that risk? I would say no but you catch lightening in a bottle for a season, you get them into the play-offs in one piece and you got a shot at title. There is a statistical chance just not a very good one.
Dan Patrick has been covering sports for as long as I can remember, and he's asking, "How do you fix load management?" This guy has become a puppet for this soft era of sports for the last 10 years and has become unbearable to listen to. He's been covering sports since 1979 and he doesn't know how to fix players refusing to play? Stop paying them.
embrittle is the perfect nutshell of today’s NBA: overrated, spoiled, soft, and still dirty somehow. Philadelphia deserves this dude, he’s basically the perfect philly fan mirror (except they care way more than he does)
I would get fired from my job if I decided to just sit out on the side and say, "I dont feel like working today but still want to get paid for the day." It's insane how some of these athletes act these days and the organization just allowing it. Not even fining them anymore.
The fact that active players have their own podcasts, and are so seemingly allowed to comment on the NBA even in a negative way is just mind blowing to me. It might be a cultural thing as I'm not American, but it is very odd to me that active players are involved in broadcasting in such major ways.

@ you actually stupid if you think a good post player would change the NBA lol.
The best post player rn being Jokic doesnt even create most of his offense in the post. He does it at the top of the key. Maybe stop thinking basketball is played off vibes??
Honestly Embiid and Ben Simmons deserved each other
soooo much THIS 🤣
TOO much money, unmotivated, and NO drive to be a champion creates these kinds of players.
add Doc Rivers to that..
Daryl Morey deserves blame too. Remember, he was the one Tank Commander Sam Hinkie's mentor, and now he's the man who paid PG and built this team.
Funding his side hustle 😂

“Ehhhhh I don’t really feel like it “😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂 SpongeBob
Sheesh.
He still took YEARS off ... MJ fans should appreciate LBJ ... 20+ seasons playing for the fans
I honestly enjoy this. Makes me respect my favourites even more.
Say what you will about A.I and Kobe being "Inefficient", they balled, injuries or not. I'll take toughness over anything I've seen in today's sport.
Who calls Kobe inefficient? Legit curious I've never seen this or heard this before about Kobe.
@LiveLongAndProsperHonestly the people who hate on kobe and called him a bag hog in his prime and justifying why he averaged so many points. But the only time he was really Inefficient was after the acilles injury
Kobe broke his finger mid-game and _kept playing_
Embiid would use that as an excuse to take the rest of the season off.
My man hit the REAL advanced stats on PG with the "UA-cam views down"!
The more money they get the more hurt they get
That’s why contracts need a no play no pay rule. This shit is ridiculous.
@ I agree because if I don’t show up to work I don’t get paid so I can support that lol
No semen retention
Per game contracts not per year
Agreed!
Problem solved 👌🏾
NBA union would never agree. Need commissioner decree
NBPA would bitch. That’s why lessening the games is still not being implemented. Less games = less money
@jjcometa9333 🤣😂🤣😂so aggressive....
All I know is Jokic doesn’t miss games, but sports media is always disrespecting him for no reason.
Oh theres a reason.
If he was black hed be praised and held up on high endlessly
@@theScotian24It's not only a blsck thing don't be desperate to find something against a specific minority. It is simply an American pride thing. Giannis is black but does not get respected as much as he deserves. I wonder why...
He’s white and mvp
Klutch sports is to blame here.
The disrespect comes directly from that little creep Rich Paul and his LeGM.
@@nikosofidemporas Jokic being white 100% has something to do with it, though.
People are still watching the NBA regular season?!? I Quit years ago. How can anyone stomach these Divas making 40 million a year to sit the bench, not driving to the bucket and no-calls everywhere, they DO NOT respect their fans, they are no type of role model, and contribute nothing other than a few hours of entertainment a week to a very small segment of society and the gambling class. PG, Kawhi, Simmons, Embiid, Irving, the list goes on and on. They play when they want, they don't play when they don't want to, and they'll make more in 1 game than you will your whole life.
It’s hard to even make it through any highlight vids anymore. I’m more entertained by pickup games at the local park

-Free throws -> timeout (commercial)
-Inbound pass -> timeout (commercial)
That was 6 minutes of commercials and less than 1 second off the game clock.
The NBA needs to drop about 10 teams & increase the talent pool
No they need to drop the commissioner
If i was the owner Embiid wouldn't have any teeth left
As much as I used to like Kawhi, I think he deserves a lot of blame for this NBA culture. Let's not forget, Zion is just like these clowns
Joel is supposed to be one of the NBA role models. Bro if they want to load manage do what the spurs did back with Tim Duncan and the rest of the spurs. Imagine what Joel would do if he had to work back to back days in a normal job 😂.
There really are no more so-called "Superstars". At this point it's just a lot of 3 point shooters

Adam Silver's voldemort looking ahh is to blame. He created a whole player participation policy to prevent players from sitting out for no reason but load management has only gotten worse since.
What u expect from small hat, always money nothing else matters
Adam silver is a full blown z i o n i s t

0:43 good job with the Steve Brule clip 😂
The problem is that its guaranteed, injured you are paid less, not playing not being paid, resting or sick leave sure certain amount is not paid to you, not on a level that got you that contract get paid less.... You would see a change... So for players the firs t salary gets them out of the financial difficulties and they just stop caring... simple as that

9 all-stars alone is a HOF career
11 all-leagues is a HOF career
When he retires he'll be on many longevity records lists, like top 50 in total points, steals, 3pts(top10) and a bunch of advanced stats and analytics.
Everytime i wanna get back into basketball ill turn on a game n half the “stars” are playing and i turn it off after the first quarter
If Embiid had Iverson's heart he'd be the greatest big man to ever play the game.

I don’t know if the video title is 100% accurate. The NBA suxs now because load management, 748 3’s per game, no defense, no rivalries etc. Players make too much money to try and even pretend to care. I mean they had to make a in season tournament to get players to play harder.

Embiid is a choke artist, but he really went off the rails went Jimmy Butler left
Butler really is the last of his kind of working hard, no bs because Butler isn't supposed to be this good, but he has impressive work ethic that propelled him to where he is today
Get rid of guaranteed and overtly player advantaged contracts and maybe we'll see less entitled and more competitive players, or maybe not
Jokic should’ve won in 2023, not that joke Embid
It really is a very simple fix. If you miss half your games, you only get half your pay. That's how the rest of the world works. The owners can use the other half to fix their arenas or whatever.
This is why I love Tatum. Dude misses maybe 1-3 games an entire year and always takes care of his body.
I’d be so pissed if a player on my team shot podcasts in-season, ESPECIALLY if my team blows
It all started with Kawhi.
Everything in this video about Embiid applies to Zion Williamson and the Pelicans
Barkley is so jealous about the amount of money these guys are making because he didn't make that money he was playing. Barkey get over it. Today's players make their own rules no need to cry about it that's the way it is. Easy fix. Don't watch.
"Don't worry about. Follow my lead!" 😂😅😂
I can’t stand how every player has their stupid ass podcast nowadays
