Hello thanks for the video! does the steering wheel voice command button always work? For CarPlay does a click on this button activate Siri?
I have a chinese screen but the fitting looked exactly same. I have the single Din unit but had a big problem fitting in all the wire.
Also did you have to use the Aux cable, and can you have the bluetooth connected to both the iDrive and and the bluetooth of the new screen.
How's this still working for you? Does the display dim at night, when you dim your instrument panel?
Does it have the regular CarPlay colors instead of the one in the video? Plus it can’t run off strictly Bluetooth? Or does it have to run off a hotspot feature off your phone
I want to upgrade to the same screen, where did you get this at I didn’t see the link in your description… so I saw how easy it was to install but a few questions I had:
1. When you put everything back together do the wires stick out in the back!?
2. And you were able to connect your Apple iPhone to the system wireless correct!?
How is the call quality? Does the mic go through the head unit or factory mic above driver and passenger?
How did you manage to push the head unit back with the extra connection block? I’ve been having that problem!

Quick question, I’m probably gonna do this to my 650i, I understand that the navigation won’t carry over to the HUD, but the HUD still works right?

Thank you! Yes the hud still works like normal. I would not be able to do this if I lost my hud 😫😂 but as far as the call quality it’s about the same as before

I got this upgrade month ago myself fitted it myself - i had the reallyy small screen before so was a really good upgrade

How’d e the original menu to work/ I have no signal and it plays UA-cam but I get no sound but if I play music from iTunes U can hear it
Any issue with music quality being wireless ? The OEM Bluetooth is awful

Super big thanks for the video, and all your videos on your nice M5. I also have an F10 M5. When you use the new navigation apps like zlink and waze, does any of the navigation information show up in your heads-up display? For example, in the normal BMW navigation, an upcoming turn shows up in the heads-up display. Or when you use the zlink or waze navigation apps, you don't get any navigation information in the heads-up display anymore?

No I did not, you have to set your audio to aux though in the iDrive menu

Great video! I was going through the ordering process and there were a bunch of options that increased the price from $459 to over $800. Can you let me know if you purchased any of these options, and whether you think they are necessary? Also, the 10.25” pop-out looks/fits way better than the 12.3” that some other manufacturers offer. I believe I just did the CarPlay &' LG display. Unfortunately the CarPlay navi doesn't show on the HUD though
does the back look flush? or does it look aftermarket? I have a 535 m sport and this would look nice. The website has both options of OEM or popped out. Just curious how the back looks.

It was just sizing, I was able to adjust it on the android factory settings

Whats going on bro, you can go into the Android factory settings &’ you have to enter a passcode. Not sure if it would be the same but the one they gave me was 070305. There you can go into display settings &’ change the resolution

Ok, I'm a little confused. Can you provide a link to the actual parts necessary for this upgrade? Is this all included in the "Android Screen Upgrade" or do you need to purchase the "Apple Carplay/Android Auto Interface" as well? Looks like a cool system.
If you go on the website you can see that there's an option for built in wireless CarPlay. You would have to pay to get this feature. But everything else is included for the most part.

I was driving a 2020 BMW X2 for a couple of days because my car was getting fixed up at the bmw dealership so they gave me that car as a loaner and it has the exact same screen. Might switch up the screen to this on my 535i!

What screen size did u get and how do I find out if I have CIC or NBT Idrive system? Mines a 2013 so looks like it could be either but how do I check? Thanks for the video, this will be a great upgrade as I've always felt the stock display is a bit outdated. This should definitely fix that :)
Try looking at your navigation version, it usually says CIC or nbt. I got the 10.25” model

Yeah I left the oil bypass mod on there, I never had any issues
I installed a similar item (not screen, just CarPlay) into my F10 and noticed that since installing, my battery drain message comes up EVERY time I power on the vehicle. Do you have a similar experience?

Got a big question man? Just purchased a 2013 M5 recently and was thinking about upgrading the iDrive, HOWEVER, just concerned whether the M1 and M2 settings are still there as is all the BMW M5 settings that are specific to the car too. A reply would be much appreciated
