    Excellent video. I was able to replace the spark plugs in my 2013 Avalon Hybrid XLE by following along. After removing the OEM plugs I was able to see they were DENSO FK16HR-A8. Replaced with DENSO IKH16 (5343). The replacements work well, however, I now see the replacements are only rated for 30k miles. A better choice would probably have been DENSO FK16HR-A8 (3484) which are rated for 80-100k. Also, I purchased a torque wrench and tightened the plugs to 15 ft-lb.

      @@michaelhale2594thx can you list all the tools you used? First time doing it. I saw someone did on my 3.5L V6 Pilot. Now I'm trying to do myself.

    The OE spark plug for a 2015 Avalon HV is DENSO 3484 (FK16HR-A8). Since you removed three Motocraft plugs and one DENSO plug, that means that at least three plugs were changed before 200k miles. Also, the next time you change the engine air filter, you should clean the throttle body.

      From toyota dealer i think ... but any grounding cable that sells on autozone or ebay would work just check the cables length

    It costs me 700.00 to change 6 spark plugs on my Toyota avalon XLE 😢

      @mechanicallyinclined2715  Рік тому

      How are they charging you $700 ... that is way too much ... spark plugs costed me $38 i believe and then the labor can not be $662 ... did they do anything else

      @@mechanicallyinclined2715 OP said 6, the V6 unfortunately is not as quick and easy as the hybrid 4. The tech manual says to remove the intake manifold to get to the rear plugs. so not only 2 additional genuine plugs for cost, there are added costs with throttle body gaskets, intake gaskets, and of course additional labor. $700 is closer to being correct than just the cost of 4 champion plugs. But that being said, anyone mechanically inclined could do it themselves for considerably less.

    • @mechanicallyinclined2715
      @mechanicallyinclined2715  Рік тому

      @Joe Schmo yes you are right ... I have done spark plugs on a v6 which requires taking off the intake manifold and it is a lot of work but you don't need to replace gaskets if they are not bad or cracked ... I have used those gaskets again and there were no problems ... still does not count for $700

      What would you say is a fair price to replace the spark plugs, after parts and labor on the v6 2014?
