I just bult a new 76.8v battery with a similar variant of that BMS... Then proceeded to burn 3 hours trying to figure out why the damn thing wouldn't communicate with VBMS... This answered that question, and to that I tip my hat :)

The BMS rating is the peak value. The actual values are lower. This also explains the 4 12AWG wires, which definitely cannot carry 300A continues. Here are the real values. Discharging current: 40A (peak 60A) , 60A (peak 80A) , 70A (peak 150A) , 120A (peak 300A) , 150A (peak 400A)

I had a 300A BMS and quite happy put 200A (peek) through it with no problems at all.

I was wondering if you could help me. I have this exact bms and finally got the app working thanks to this video. I have my parameters correctly set. My problem is that all of my voltages randomly jump around in the bms app and some cells read 0 volts or very low values. In reality all cells are almost exactly 3.49 volts. I have wired it up according to online diagrams I found but am now unconvinced they are correct. I am using a 14 series configuration meaning I skip the 9-13 wires and connect wire 8 and 14 together. Otherwise same as normal first wire is battery negative last 2 are battery positive everything else is the positive ends of the cells Is this correct?
Yes that 14s wiring is correct. Check all the plug connectors on the BMS side as it sounds like you have some lose connectors/connections.
@@smartazz I appreciate the response I actually finally figured it out though lol was such a stupid error. The battery I am using has screw terminals and for some reason the screw terminal head was at a different voltage than the cell it was supposed to be connected to. Think it is reminiscent of some old bms circuitry I hacked off the battery. Missed some of it I guess.
This videos has def helped, been all night tring to get this thing. I still cannot get this pack tk charge with this bms. Also strange it is a 20s pack, shows 20s voltage and cell count in the app, but is only outputting 28v on the discharge side of the bms. In the app it says 20s and auth 5 so im not sure what is gojng on there.
Click auto battery settings for your battery type :)
Or quick settings and press lithium or lipo4 (whatever your battery type)

When you fired your Ant up, were all the setting already in there? Is there a listing of a standard set for Lithium Ion, 20S . I got some off the Data sheet for the cell, but there are so many settings. I have set up a Daly Smart BMS, much easier, but they are so large.
It was preset to 20s. All the other settings I went through one by one. You can tap the Li ion quick setting button but I would still go through all the settings one by one.

I have problem connecting with bluetooth.
I am in the connecting menue, but no devices show up. With vbms app it finds the bms and i can connect (but vbms can't change settings) so is there any way i can troubleshoot or do something do make bluetooth connection work for ant bms new app. Also when bluetooth in endable i have 2 ant bms connections (1 is with password and other is without), the one with password connects with vbms app, other doesn't.
Connect to one without password in settings on your phone. Then open the new app.
Make sure all other apps are closed or reboot the phone.
@@smartazz i got it woriking by using third phone. (first one didn't connect, second phone didn't allow the app to be install and third got it working)

Level 2 cell High protect is a voltage high protect (3.6 lifepo4/ 4.2 lithium)
Level 2 cell high recover is when the cells get to the protect voltage it will turn off the charge, then your cells will start to drop in voltage and the charge will turn back on when you reach this value e.g 3.4v lifepo4 or 4.15v lithium
@@smartazz So,for lipo batteries how should I set values? There is also Cell high voltage,and cell high protect? What values should be higher? Can you give me an example and I will try that,and test it for my battery pack. Just to get an idea what is the ideal setup in ideal conditions
@@kingoftheput different BATTERYS have different values and I couldn’t say exactly what yours are. Click the fast setting button for your battery type and all values will be set.

Temperature is no value. Power is 1/2 half. Keeps disconnecting from Bluetooth. Link in description for latest app (it’s still bad sorry)

Thanks for sharing this! VBMS app didn't give me access to parameters but this app works great. The Bluetooth never shuts off though and I don't have access to the BMS in sealed battery pack. Is Bluetooth never shutting off normal?
Yes, well also no. If you apply a power source to the red and black wire (very thin ones & 4v) it will power on the bms and also power off the bms. Hope this helps :) also if it’s working don’t fix it lmaro

Hi, I have a problem with my app, I can not increase Pack Volt High Protect for more than 110Volt and for 32 cell of lifepo4 y should be 115Volt aprox. Appears a message ...should less 110Volt.... any idea? Admin access password may be?... it is not the same as level 5

One question if you dont mind..ive got this exact BMS and its working but for the life of me I dont know how to set up the temperature sensors...doesnt look like you can attach anything the the existing green wires which has 2 different boards..any ideas?
Should be 2 connectors at the top of the BMS, 1 side is power on the Bluetooth and the other is the temperature. Plug in the 3 wire then plug in the sensor with the 3 wire plug, then plug the 2 wire in to the sensor and then the other sensor. I hope this helps.
1 month ago brought 16 ZMUB bms new version. Very unstable bluetooth connection, bad software. This is story about NEW product launched too fast, they dont care apout users. Temperature sensors not working correct, not showing any temperature info. All the time connection lost. Realy waiting new version VBMS. Hope guys from VBMS makes normal software. I honestly do not understand why such a raw product is to be put on sale.

Have downloaded app for Android appears to be reading ok however total capacity reading 77v which is correct,all balances wires acend and read from 3.7 up to 77v (20cell pack) which is correct.
The output from the actual bms where I have my charge point and Anderson battery connector read around 52v only ???

The connector might be damaged on the input to the BMS

have you ever done a factory reset before ? my bms wont stop balancing even when parameters are changed and stop balance button used
Sounds like a bms fault. Does it stop balancing when discharging?

I can't get the app to allow setting the correct Pack voltage for my 32S LiFePO4 pack. It won't allow setting a voltage over 110.0V, when the nominal max voltage is ~117V. Super annoying.
Strange. So if your at 109v it works perfectly?
Have you pressed the quick battery setting ?
@@smartazz Yep, it'll charge up to 109 no problem, but then trips the High Pack Voltage cutoff. I did start with the quick setting for LiFePO4, but their math seems off in the app.

The Apple App store had a new Ant BMS software now that accepts the lvl5 password (123456789abc) and lets you change settings. Most things seem to work but when I activated AutoBalance it wasn’t showing it balancing but then i opened the Android app and saw it was balancing.
When you open app, even after initial pairing, it goes to a start page and you have to hit “Bluetooth” to get to the app.
I don’t really like it but if i had it before I bought ah Android phone I would have used it.

I'm trying to reset my BMS to factory setting because I think I messed up a setting and the current for the discharge mosfet is wrong, especially since the battery isn't connected and it's showing 9amp draw then throws errors when the discharge is turned off. I get not authorized even though I put in lvl 5. Is there a password for the "Administrator" level?

Found out they have a newer app in the play store now searchable by Ant-bms. Seems to connect to both versions, but so far have only gotten it to display battery health, have not been able to pull settings from battery yet, though it has all the fields to set them, they are blank. I was able to do what I needed to with it though(check balance) so I didn't try to figure out further yet.
Do you know the name of the manufacturer of the ANT BMS?

I have this new BMS and have the new app downloaded too but my phone will not load the APP it says "Parse error" every time . I'm going back to my old XYAXAN till they sort this shit out . It's hard work trying to communicate problems back to China..
VBMS will display the values, iOS ant BMS will display the values but you need the new app to set the parameters. VBMS Is working hard to release a new update so keep eyes open for that.

Is there a way to hook the power button up to the bikes key instead of the button?
Need a battery 3-9v in line with the key switch to make that work I believe

@@smartazz I'm sorry I don't have a date. I think its the older style, based on it has the lcd screen (hard to find now) What i ended up doing was ordering a momentary switch that I can mount easily. I'll tell you what. The Daly bms's are so much easier to connect. But awesome to learn something new!

Hi Does anyone know how too solve my issue the ANT BMS discharges fine but will not charge when put my on bench power supply it's a 60V 45Ah pack. What makes no sense is Charge/discharge is done on the same Line.
Charge and discharge is mosfet driven so can charge when discharge is turned off and the opposite. Try pressing the set parameters button for your battery type in the settings and hopefully it will start working
@@smartazz I have tried those steps no luck. I've ordered a 60V charger will arrive tomorrow see if that works. My power supply is bizarre at times

I haven’t tried to set a new password, I believe it’s set on the BMS and not changeable.

May i ask you something? In the Balance parameters there is Balancecurrent and its around 380N. What does the N mean? I assume if I increase this than the balancing will be faster? Thanks
