Putting the sprayer in a bucket is genius. I am going to look for one of those better controlled aftermarket (?) spay handles as well. Great content as always.
That looked like an excellent candidate for Velocity PM (has anyone tried Xonerate?). Very small amount of triv and would have preserved the fescue. Not like a bad infestation where you end up with huge bare areas.
@@Primetime_Fescue Yes, I remember you said the areas were large and you recommended glyphosate as the way to go. Makes sense. Here, it was a small patch within the fescue and why I thought it would be a good test.
Do you need to wait till it’s completely dead and brown before mowing it down and re seeding? I have a lot of patches I need to do next year. I was thinking about spraying it and mowing after 4 days and then spray it again in 7 days.
When did you spray? I’m in central NC. I sprayed mine with roundup last Friday and reseeded Monday or Tuesday. The temps will stay above 60 until Thursday I’m hoping I will get some new grass before it gets to cold. I hated to do it. Yard was looking good. I had quite a bit pop up.
Yes sir need to leave it long because glyphosate requires leaf tissue. I let it sit a few days then scalp it and reseed. But you can seed directly into it glyphosate has no effect in the soil
I have a bunch of spots that look about like yours where it is mostly good grass. I've been spraying it out every spring and fall and still more shows up. I'm trying out velocity pm on it this year and if that don't work I may have to do a renovation.
@@Primetime_Fescue Bentrass is very good at hiding when it's young as well, you gotta look early in the morning when there's dew and then it shows up as a gray/blue
@rubenharris9241 you don’t have to go to the extreme I did lol. I was just trying to make a point for a video lol. I do feel mailing an extra pass over it helps instead of just doing one swath over it.
Always a good Vid, I dig mine out add new soil and reseed a lil heavy .
🙏

Think I bought this at Lowe’s it’s a 1 gallon sprayer. Round up brand I’m pretty sure.
Thanks for this one!
Absolutely
Always great pertinent content!
Thank you!!
Give it some love. Lol.😂😂😂
@@jerrydotcomp 🤣🤣🤣 you don’t have to give it that much lol. I was just making a point for the video but a lot of folks just barley spray it

Everything I sprayed with velocity last spring at my moms is back it looked dead as a hammer after 2 apps and all through the summer

You can do that should work fine

I've always dug it up after glyphosating. New soil too. You said you could reseed into that without doing that part?

@@Primetime_Fescue Thanks, I will try that. Didn't know you could do that.

Good luck I sprayed my mom’s 3 apps with it it looked dead as a hammer and it’s back this fall. That was sprayed in the spring
@@Primetime_Fescue I got the same problem with creeping bentgrass and tenacity, it always has spots come back. Pisses me off!
@TopTierLawnCareServices luckily I haven’t had any of that YET

That was a lot of glyphosate Brad 🙂. I think it’s a goner.
That’s what I’m looking for sir! No use to mess around if you want it gone right?
@@Primetime_Fescue makes sense. I will have to keep this in mind for future.
