Been obsessing over whether I should use a mic or DI + IR because of imperfect room situation (desktop/fan noise etc) but honestly the extra noise with the SM57 examples just added something that the others lacked. Especially on the Zep riff at the beginning. But that's just me
Man, I realized the 57 is a very strange choice for the acoustic. Maybe along with the ir it’s ok - but not worth the hassle I think. Gotta try a good IR like 3sigma audio - I didn’t record the video yet, but it sounds way better than these IR’s. If you can set the mic, make it condenser mic that does the job right.
A good mic on a good instrument will always feel more "lively." But here's the kicker: Are you going to be a stationary performer? A mic has a limited range. If you move around while performing, an IR is your best option.
Peter, thank you for stopping by! In fact it was your videos on ir's and helix presets for acoustic guitar that caused my interest to grow for eq, ir's, enhancements for the piezo sound! So, my gratitude to you, sir!
Using IR requires some player pedal or software - in my case I use hx stomp but you can use any pedal that can work with IR. The rest is not so hard, just find the impulses and load them into the pedal.
Hi. Great work on the vid. Did you make these IRs or do they come on HX Stomp? I'm shopping for one for my acoustic board. I'm deciding between a Stomp and TC Impulse.
@@alexlush87 oh, you are not brazilian. Yes, it was amazing to see, in real time, the change of IR. I will use the Gibson in my Fender. I still haven't found the IDEAL IR to my nylon classical.
@@AndersonLSCosta Brazil!! Man, I gotta visit Brazil sometime, you’ve got some unreal music. For the best IR you have to search and compare, yes, it’s a long journey.
Man! Shure SM57 for an acoustic?! What an unusual choice... But I confess it added some hiss that created a great flavour to the sound. Now, let me ask you. I have a Fractal AX8 and I´m thinking of using it with my acoustics. I have a Giannini Folk 1977 6 strings and a Cort 12 strings. Do you think they can work fine?
Check the following video with proper condenser mic for guitar! ua-cam.com/video/TLLCxF8xEfY/v-deo.html The guitars with piezo pickups and others works fine with IR’s, BUT not all IR’s are good.
There is a description below the video, so I was playing through the ir via hx stomp. No PA, just played the guitar, and recorded it through different settings.
Vary nice demo Alex. Thanks for putting the work in. After hearing this I want to try out the Hummingbird and the Taylor 814 impulses myself. Where can I find them?
absolutely, man! Happened to me that mic input don't have phantom power for condenser microphone! Will record other comparison with condenser and ir's!
Great demo !
IRs sound so good compared to piezo, and they're not any worse than SM57, but with no noise !

IR's are a well overdue godsend 👍
VERY EXCELLENT DEMONSTRATION!

Everything sounded absolutely amazing!
Классная гитара.
It would help to know what pickup you have in the guitar.
@@Acoustic_Music-h6x pretty standard piezo fishman sonitone.
Great !!! I am IR begginer use... testing...
The shure sm57 has a background noise.
Check the new video with condenser mic and no background noise:

Really impressive tone!! Can I please get the Humming Bird IR?
can you teach us how did you reach those incredible ir sounds? are you using any pedal or something like this?

Which specific J45, Hummingbird, and Taylor 814 IRs are you using?
some from net! I'm planning to record a comparison between condenser mic and 3 sigma audio ir's soon (sounds awesome on their channel), stay tuned!
@@alexlush87 I guess I meant more which mics with those IRs? I have the same ones I'm pretty sure but there's a few mic options for each one.

Hi, Casey! Thank you! The ir’s are not came with the hx stomp - its an effects processor and also can use ir’s. TC impuse i think is ir only?
hi, can you share me this pacth and responses, tnx
Muuuuito legal!!!! Vc tem um pra nylon, irmão?
As I understand you’re asking to make a comparison for nylon strings with ir. I think I’m gonna do it!

Lovely video Alex! I was wondering what the second song you played was called? Really nice
Man, thank you! It’s the one of the numerous unfinished pieces by me. That’s the sign I should work on it more.

can i use IR with my electric guitar?
Didn’t tried it yet, but 3 sigma audio packages contain ir’s for acoustic and electric guitars when you buy any ir
Can you give me your ir free?
Epico
These IRs sound amazing. Great playing. What preamp did you use in the stomp?
Thanks! The preamp was the only one mic preamp that hx stomp has!
Humminhgbird is the Best
great ,if use Condenser microphone ,would be better。
