This song is dedicated to his long- time girlfriend Pam Courson. They lived together in a nice little flat on Laurel Canyon Blvd (Love Street). He's talking about the little Country store that I believe is still there. This is also the same store that the infamous "Wonderland Gang" made a lot of their drug meet-ups in the late 70's and early 80's. Check the John Holmes story. Also, the robes, monkeys and studded flunkies are about Pams' pets, friends (or her heroin dealers) and the daily life they lived on Laurel Canyon Blvd. It was a deeply personal song to Jim and it was written exclusively by him. It is essentially a re-telling of the life they had together there. Pam was Jims "cosmic mate" and the girl he always came back to. He went to Paris with her, and the rest is history.......
So I could talk about The Doors all day, there are so many layers to their music but moreover to their mythos. Jim alone is a fascinating study with all the different masks of personality that made him legendary. Reading into more of his biographical history & his inspirations introduced me to new depths of poetry & philosophy & art. Thank you for this video!
THE DOORS, "ROADHOUSE BLUES" after hearing their first hit when I was 10 1967 "LIGHT MY FIRE". Surrounded by other types of 60'S vibes. I always said it was this song that made the DOORS music ahead of their time. Excellent Reaction.. more "RIDERS ON THE STORM", "L.A. WOMAN".
Like your reactions the doors greatest band ever,do more doors songs, light my fire, rider's on the storm,La woman, there's heaps of classic doors songs, greetings from a doors fan in Australia 🇦🇺
If you're a poet, you found the right dude, the music means, whatever it means to the listener, that's the beauty of music, LOVE STREET has always been a favorite, but it's a hidden gem, here's a couple more, HYACINTH HOUSE, THE SPY, MAGGIE MCGILL, THE CRYSTAL SHIP, THE CARS HISS BY MY WINDOW.
Love Street is about Morrison's girlfriend Pamela and tje boutique she owned on Laurel Canyon Dr. A center for the "love" crowd. It is about the "hangers on" that floated through the area and Jim's reaction to it all
It s about 8.43am and I am working on my third beer.....waiting for the Harly to warmj up.......60 miles from the pacifiic..........if i am close,I will swing by......
The best thing you can say about the Doors was they were unique in their time. No other band sounded like them in the 60`s. Copy bands later don`t count. At their time they had no equal. Rest my case. And songs for ALL time.
Love Street is about a relationship with a ... uh, difficult woman, one who you can't get out of your mind, but who doesn't seem as hung up on you as you are with her.
An inconic singer, an iconic band! Had many great songs a few of my favorites are Hello I Love You, Light my Fire, Love me Two Times,. Also Moonlight Drive which hardly anyone reacts to. Oh LA Woman is great also. Best success on yr channel.
It was written for his girlfriend Pam about where they lived at the time and the hippies that frequented at store nearby. Jim didn't particularly like them. Lol
Damn, Sarah Rae. My first time here, so I had to play again the last thing you said about your one-year anniversary, to check that I'd heard right. Keep doing what you love. You're great.
Love Street is about Jim Morrison Girl friend Pamela Courson apartment located on Laurel Canyon Blvd behind the famous COUNTRY STORE ,where all the rock and roll peopled lived and shopped at the store, Note Mama Cass used to live in the basement apt of the store.
How's your hound doing? My Bert died in my arms two months ago. Now my only hound is Gracie. She's always staring at me, wagging her tail and making odd sounds.
I got to admit i kind of dismissed you with the cat headphones but your quoting garth brooks was spot on and your gnr poster brought me around, id say love street and roadhouse blues wasnt the best doors choices id go more spanish caravan or love her madly
haha I got cat headphones cause I have and LOVE my 2 cats, as a backstory on them. Thank you for the Garth Brooks love. One of my favorite Singers and GNR, you may not know but also behind me there is a white poster next to my tapestry, it is the lyrics to Don't cry which is my favorite song of their's. I have a connection with it also I have that song tattooed on my arm. I will take a look at those 2 songs for you. Thank you. Much love.
4:52 I can pick up my ragged paper edition of Thomas Mann's "Death in Venice and Other Stories," on a random page and read a deeper insight into life than Garth Brooks. You can do much better.
Sarah I became instantly obsessed with Jim at age 13, and I took a dna test months ago at 52 years of age and then did much research. I found out my great grandmother is the sister of Jims grandfather. So he was my cousin. I was nearly two and adopted into another family when he died. I feel so cheated that I didn't get to follow Jim around like Iggy Pop and Alice Cooper did when they were young, before they became entertainers.
First, that is so cool! Thank you for sharing that. You will always have that to share with your family and your future. To keep his memory alive, you know. Also, I understand what you mean, I am sure that would've been such an epic adventure for you.
The Doors are my favorite band from the 60's and Jim Morrison was a poetic genius.
