I grew up in that area totally recognize the surroundings. been detecting and digging antique bottles in Colorado for over 40 years now. Subbed ya
Nice video, thanks for explaining the sounds of different metals.
Glad you enjoyed it Johnny Turbo!
I’m going through and commenting on every video I watch. Helps your channel. Great video!
Thank you for your service
Love the sound of the wind through the pines back in the mountains. Especially back far enough where there is no man made sound. But it's sad to see all the trash left by the shooters. I enjoy shooting too, but I always clean up my shell casings before I leave.
I agree Gerf, and thanks for watching!
Love that area you on top of hot springs
Watching this in England, laid up with a fractured pelvis and vertebrae, beautiful place mate and enjoyed your delivery!
Well Mark, I hope you get better soon and I'm honored to be able to bring you along with my on an adventure or two. Thanks for watching! atb -KG
KleshGuitars Thanks old chap, keep on filming, and stay off ladders🇬🇧🇺🇸
I have traveled the U.S. and I'd say that Colorado is the most beautiful of our states though I am in Ventura county California which is awesome but it has its down fall as I'm sure ppl think Colorado is to cold. I actually like both sunny and snowy days, a def season change vs the stable weather they hv in California. If I had a fireplace in California, it wouldn't get used unless it was a pit in the yard outside. I run around in shorts m sandals year round here. I lived in Va near D.C. n Washington near Seattle. I loved them both but the humidity and wet weather killed me. I think that's why my family moved from Europe to the states. Bennet clan from Scotland.
And on that Coors can? 1960s is the yrs of the can. www.coorscans.com/.. this is the site I found it.. 2 clicks n vwalla!! I'd love to visit n travel Scotland, England n Ireland though. With the way stupid ppl here vote in sucky prez.. I considered leaving. Right now all the prejudice ppl are coming out of the woodwork with this gov.
Keep your dumb politics to yourself !!
Thanks Annette Petrin - as you know I find one in every single metal detecting video I make..LOL this website will come in handy. Thanks for watching! atb -KG
Bullets have lead with brass coatings and the brass shells of course.. and all high metal objects will sound and ring up about the same.. So brass, copper, aluminum, gold, silver, and well you get the point, lol.. But when they are in different shapes like rings and other weird shapes, they can ring up different.. Try to hunt in Pro Mode, zero discrimination, and iron audio set at about 25. Listen carefully at those pull tab signals, because gold will ring up about the same as pull tabs sometimes, But gold tends to have a softer signal compared to a pull tab, but more of a stable sounding signal.
Good luck hunting, and i hope you hit it big! Peace!
I try to dig them all, but towards the end of a hunt I admit I pass a lot of stuff up! Thanks for watching! atb -KG
Thank you for the trip..it was a good time
Sure thing!
I found an exact same one whille detecting where a train derailed. Got good hits and started finding a lot, but had to leave because it was getting dark. Hoping to go back tomorrow.
Thanks for watching!
I went out hiking in New Mexico once and found a spoon on a hill side. I kept it because there was an old fire circle at the top of the hill and I looked up the mark on it... It's from the California Perfume Company... I neat little bit of cowboy history circa 1800's.
Nice Aaron Blount, Cool story!
Great video -------- some tips if I may----- I've been hunting with the AT Pro now for four years and know the machine fairly well. One thing not to do ----
. never run it where your battery ios at half bar
. always bring a spare pack of batteries just in case
. go slow and be thorough when detecting
You should be good if you follow those tips.
Thank you I appreciate the advice! I'm glad you enjoyed the video!
On the garret AT Pro pinpointer feature when it's pinpointing isn't it at the center of the coil not at the front tip like at 12 o'clock as stated in the video
Good video my friend !!!👍😱👍👍
Great video. That is more ammo than I ever found. Subbed for more. Greetings, Sebastian.
Yeah I need to go back up there, lots of ammo to find! Thanks for watching! atb -KG
Very nice scenery too, surprised about all the live bullets, lol. Not so good for kids who come around. Nice hunt!
Thanks for watching! -KleshGuitars
Fun video i would dig here historic area....yehhhh
Did you do the guitar in the beginning? cause I noticed its in all your vids. What kinda guitars do you got? I live in Florida but Ive been to Colorado a few times and always love being out there. keep up the cool videos man!
Distorted Fate Yes I just wanted a simple catchy guitar riff for my intro/outro music so I just grabbed my guitar and recorded the first thing that came out. It seems to work ok. I use the guitars I build, Klesh Guitars for almost everything, acoustic and electric, also basses. Thanks for watching my movies. I enjoy nature as much as guitars. Atb -KG
Distorted Fate - I went ahead and made a new video explaining a bit more info on this comment. I also do a playthrough of the riffs. Thanks for the comment and thanks for watching! atb -KG
Dig it man! (Literally) I am going out on a trip out that way soon with my detector,.
As for your beer can, If the top is crimped on, then it's an early 70's, and some cans were made as flat tops to sell to collectors in the late 1970s and early 1980s.. But there should be a date stamped on the top or bottom that tells the date it was canned, or it could be the date the beer was brewed.. Peace!
And if it don't have a UPC symbol, then it was made before 1978.. Because in 1978 they started putting the UPC's on all the cans..
Oh dang, I didn't even look or notice if there's a UPC on it. Thanks for the info! Thanks for watching! atb -KG
Tip u may not know . Before digging any target hold the coil about 2 feet off the ground .
If it still beeps it is a large object like a can , ax head and so on .
If it goes silent it is something small like a ring or coin or a small piece of junk .
This will keep you from digging up a bunch of large pieces of junk .
That's a great bit of advice I learned a while back. Thanks for watching! atb -KG
Your batteries in the AT Pro look a bit flat. I find that once the detector shows less than full bars battery power, the batteries are close to flat, and this can affect the detector's performance.
True and good observation!
I have a Garrett At-Pro and love it. I like Zero mode best, and only use discrimination on ocean beaches..I like hearing all the iron, it also goes deeper w/o discrimination! If I was out there I'd probably carry bear spray lol
Cool I explore old sites with an AT gold too.
Good one. Binge watching 🎀
Nice! These older videos' quality isn't there as far as camera quality and editing, but there's still some good ones.
The content is great. I noticed the improvements. Lots to catch up on, don’t worry, not judging, UA-cam is hard 🤣👋
Thank you Cricket Wilson-Harris!
That bullet casing looked fresh af for being buried like that. lol
Thanks for watching! -KleshGuitars
I'm glad you did your panoramic spin, You're not there for the treasure are you? I've watched a shitload of your videos end on end. I watched two vids where they found big gold nuggets, got bored. I keep willing you to dig up a gun owner's gold watch. this is way better than Netflix
Detecting in CO where people camp is horrible. I usually stop after the first 5 casings. What can I say, we like our guns😎
enjoyed the video thumbs up what year was the can?
Not sure what year it was. I think it's from the 50's!
nice finds
Thanks, it's always fun.
the can would have a strip line with the make date and all info on it
[S3A12C85D] S = Springs,3 =line3,A = the decorator A that spray the ink,12 = the day of date,C = the month March -line Jan will be A and Des will be L ,85 = the year of make and D = days shift
we opened our beer cans up like that in the 70's, Army 1972-1975
Interesting, maybe that's how old they are?
Pretty old can to be opened with a church key...probably around 1965.
Nice video and your voice is good.
7:15 yeah I wonder what that choker collar was used for in the woods by a campsite........
Thanks Shiddy for watching!
Man, for all the garbage you pick up, I sure hope you hit the jackpot one day!
Just started watching and glad I did. This video had 666 likes. Wow glad to take that number off your hands and make it 667. Sure it's a great video and see ya next one.
Wat detector do YOU recomend
18:54 that cartridge was a misfire because the bullet is still in the casing but the primer is engaged
Good eye I didn't notice
How do you know if it's ok to dig somewhere (i.e. whether it's privately or commercially owned)?
I use County Assessor maps, and best of all I get permission. Best way to get a permission is to email the property owner (found by using the couny assessor maps) and then emailing that person asking for permission to do some metal detecting / be on their property. Once they give permission in the reply email, I just print it out and keep it on me when doing that property. It's saved me a few times. If it's a park, just email the parks and rec department. If it's someone's house, just knock on the door and asking is the most common way.
Seemed like a good place to hunt. Maybe you'll have better finds where they actually were working. Gold luck and Happy Finding to you!
I took the detector over to the mine entrance and found TONS of iron and so much junk, it was very hard to detect there even with discrimination set to max. Ill go back and try again ! Thanks for watching!
maybe try virgin land next time for gold nugget. too much old junk in abandon site like that
That’s why you get a gartte pin pointer ;)
Thanks ILoveStarWars Man for watching!
Hey klesh at 8:03 that bullet hasn't been shot
hello there I was wondering if you could help me I have several claims in a historical mining district in Colorado and since your from there I was wondering how could I change some of my claims to a combo claims . Half of my claims are placer and the other half are lode. all my claims are surrounded by patented mining claims. half of the placer claims have some old lode mines at the top of my claims and half of my lode claims had mill sites at the bottom of them
Hi Ricchard, so I don't know the process of changing claims as you describe, I just haven't researched that yet. My best advice would be to do some google-fu and research for the correct answers. Sorry I can't help you, but If I come across an answer, I will comment back here and let you know. Thanks for watching!
Nice
Thanks Crazy Mator
Funny over here in the uk a bullet case would be considered a good fine
True I never thought of that, Thanks for watching!
Where is it? How do you get there? Do you know any good places to hunt?
THis is in Colorado near Idaho Springs in the mountains
I'm guessing the can is from the 60s. I don't think pull tabs were invented until the 70s.
Yep, or even earlier !
Do u ever go to blackhawk and central city?
Yeah, once in a great while.
Is it really worth looking in Colorado. Pauly finds a lot in Canada
It's worth looking anywhere, as long as you're enjoying yourself!
I believe the can was 1978 they had two holes on the top my dad worked at coors then
Nice!
5.56 are .43 cent were i shop. Thats more than a side walk pays.lol
Was that a bar code on the can?
I think Coors should start paying you.lol
I agree teri andresen, and thanks for watching!
did you say you used ar-15s in the army? LOLOLOLS
I carried an m16a2 and an M4, both military adaptations the ar15 yes. Also carried the m243 saw. It sucked rucking and jumping with that compared to the lighter m4
He looks like Keanu Reeves in this video
1950s-1960's Coors Can
Yep!
1972
Google the beer can
I usually check www.coorscans.com/ for my Coors can research, Thanks for watching!
ill give ya a buck for the fork.lol
I think I lost it, sorry!
@@Klesh i was kidding but thanks for the reply.
Anyone else scroll to the end for a gold clean up lol.
Not me, oh that's because I made the video.
So what up lets do this i detect alone allllll the time here anywhere i can here in coloredo
It's a great time any time out there! Thanks for watching! atb - KG
If that can was better shape I think its worth like $200
Yeah man who knew!
As always, a great video. Go to flowpan.com. I seen an ad you may be interested in.
Ill check it out thanks for watching!
⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
Thanks Tom Weidler for watching!
You miss half the ground slow down.
Thanks DR Mechanic for watching!
Coors can 1960s easy
Thanks for watching!
ho-hum
Not sure what that means but thanks for watching! -KleshGuitars
Sorry to tell you but you need a Better Detector. Yours is ok but there are much much better for the price you paid for that one
Since this video was filmed I have become sponsored with minelab detectors and now on a few different ones for my arsenal, including the equinox 800, the minelab SDC 2300, the Excalibur 2 and even the gold monster 1000. Yes all much better than Garrett in my experience.
@@Klesh nice
a normal person uses a shovel not a buck knife....
I do own a few buck knives but would never ruin the edge by digging with them. This is a Lesche digging knife which is much easier to carry than a shovel and also makes digging in crevices possible.
@@Klesh wouldn't a hand spade be more effective?
@@Klesh also you could find gold at that location, look for quartz veins use your metal detector on the veins of quartz gold likes to run with quartz
@@Megagon10k It depends on the area on what tools to use, but for most areas of metal detecting I prefer either this Lesche or a small shovel sometimes.
@@Megagon10k The metal detector I use in this video doesn't run the correct frequency to locate small gold nuggets, however this video is over 1 year old and have since acquired a gold prospecting metal detector which will work in this application. Thanks for the comment
You need to be careful doing this kind of stuff because i help someone once with digging and and found a black widow
I’ve found black widows in NC, PA, NY but never in CO yet
I dont think you should metal detect. You are really bad at it! How many times do you need to hit the same spot before you dig. Gezz Louis get on with it already!
I'm a disabled veteran with some back injuries makes it difficult to dig. I do it for fun, if you don't like it go away.
