      @@Klesh Ya I know, I wouldn't hurt em either, just never seen one roosting out in the open like that. I do a lot of old adits and shafts around my area and unfortunately, one-time while on rappel I had one of the glorious guano givers get hung up in the back of my hard hat! Lucky for me it was only a short 25-30' to terra firma. I was doing some shit on that rope that Michael Jackson woulda been proud of! Guano = good gooey bud. Gotta love em for that alone.
      Hey Shane, I was wondering if you have ever sent off any ore samples for evaluation and if so do you have any recommendations. Names/numbers of reputable assayers. The first part of next week I'm headed out to an old known load gold mine to get some grab samples. A buddy of mine and I would like to get an assay done on some material someplace other than locally. It is our hopes that it could be a profitable small joint venture. If it works out your welcome to come out sometime and bust some rock with us. Anyhow, any info would be greatly appreciated. Happy trail's, Rick.

      @@Klesh I have re-written this comment over many times, but decided I am just going to say I have found the location and leave it at that. My pride in my observation wants to get the better of me and I am afraid I would leave hints for others. When I return from there, I will have to send you the GPS coordinates or at least some word-play hints... Don't worry, we aren't going to smash it. But we (my brother joining me for a bday weeked) are going to check out this pretty area, have a nice day in beautiful surroundings and maybe find a little color too. It will be pretty ~NICE.~

      @@Washing_Dirt_Prospecting NICE! I did blur it out so that people wouldn't be able to find it, but if you did the research you deserve to go ahead and smash that place. I probably won't make it back anyway, so go ahead and best of luck! (Just keep us updated on this comment thread to let us know how you did!)

      Went to the spot over the weekend as a bday trip. Funny that you blurred out a location where there is a guest registration book close by. My brother and i laughed at that... we forgot to look for your name though. We climbed the area and recreated some of the camera angles from your vid. The elevation was killer; especially with packs on. We made sure to bring the proper tools for crevicing. Even found someone's home made crevicing tool at a spot near the creek. Found evidence by the creek and up the mountainside of activity. Found a few interesting things with my detector. What i did not find is gold. Neither did my brother. Not up high or down low, cracking rock right by the creek. Not one, single, micro speck. We sampled a good area too. Not a trace....

    • @Klesh
      @Klesh  5 років тому +1

      Adrian Corral I did not sign the registration book I usually just text my GPS coordinates to my girlfriend. Yeah I did lots and lots of sample panning up there and with no luck as well until I found that one spot. I’m sure there’s more out there but like I said not sure if I will make it back anytime soon at least

      Cool, let me know when you are going to be in Switzerland. Make sure and check out my episode about the Prospecting laws in Switzerland. They are pretty limited on what tools are allowed and where is allowed to prospect. Some areas of the Rhein in Switzerland are not allowed

    I live just south of Golden, NM like 5 mins. Do some research it was largest Gold Rush west of Mississippi. You are giving me fever. I was curious if I can find anything in dry Arroyos? There is a Creek that runs sometimes too. I have access but I am such a novice.

      Look for bedrock in the streambed and dig to the bottom of a tightly packed crevice full of dark heavy rocks. Send me what you scrape off the very bottom and I'll tell ya if there's gold :D

    I took my brother out panning today just for fun. I'm just starting out and he's never done it. We walked way with 5 flakes after 4 buckets, which surprised me because I didn't think we'd find anything in that spot. Not much compared to what you usually find, but a big deal to us. I let him keep them since I got a few flakes already.

    I'm sad that you won't make it up to where I am at but that is a nice little tease and real hard going. If I could guarantee that I could still get out to the grounds then I could of shown you much much more. I think that any place you go here in alaska will lift your spirits. I have found gold over the years but even I get skunked at times. Where it is this year is no guarantee to finding gold... its where you find it, not what you find holds so true. Dan Hurd is quite the carrecture in his videos squealing like a girl when he finds the flake and he has found nuggets for sure. He likes to keep moving cause so does the gold. It would never find its ways into the flats other wise. Yes gold can be here and gone the next.... no guarantees for gold to visit every pan or it would be someone's claim as well. I have been skunked before and will be again. I don't know the people hat I used to know cause they have now passed on to where the gold lays at our savior's feet Keep smiling as you have the bug for it. God bless Mr. Klesh and happy trails

    Am watching this video and got a thought you might want to look into. They make a small tool that has metal bristles used to straighten air conditioning radiator find that is very compact and would probably work great to get the dirt off of the rocks and out of the crevices better than the digging tool. Just an idea. I think I purchased one years ago at a Lowe's or Home depot, can't remember which. If you do try it let me know if it seems like a good lightweight useable tool. I was using it for it's intended purpose but I think it would work well for doing what you are doing in this video.
