Golden Era
Not really "golden", more like "silver" I would say.
The "Golden Era" you mention, is between 1991-2005 for S-class Merc-Benz.
i love the w222 interior the most, feels like a yacht while the new one feels modern in a negative way., its just two screens, big wow design wise...not.
as far as the outside goes the new one starts growing on me but the w222 seems more classy.
The W223‘s front is pretty cool but the rear is dissapointing for a S-Class

187mph in an s-class, rolling smooth as can be. Great machine, and obviously well kept.

I got the w221 with a 5.5v8, that thing drinks a lot, I wouldnt be suprised if the 5.5 v8 biturbo consumed a quarter/third more @@chiroyce

I owned w220, w221 and 2 W222, currently the W222 S63 prefacelift. Best overall looking inside out. Amazing proportions and interior design amd quality(yes I know it squeeks if you push stuff around inside but not when you drive it normally). I wouldn't change it for the new S63E and I wouldn't pay the exorbitant price for the ugly interior and 2011 Hyundai Sonata rear.

@ownagebox there is high consumption even without tune lol have you ever driven a high power car flat out for a minute or so? Thats what happens... it uses up to 20L/100Km in normal driving let alone flat out than it probably uses 30L/100KM
