  • This entire video is an introduction to an off-road powered scooter that will be used primarily at lower power (40% output) for walking dogs on rough trails in the woods only.
There are plenty of other max speed test videos out there about this model, but there aren't many low-power, low-speed tests on rough trails, so here's my attempt at making one.
I purchased the Roadrunner D4+ 4.0 with my own money, so I could deep dive into it, and say whatever I want about it.
The D4 is my first off-road powered e-scooter, ever. I'm thrilled. I needed something that was powerful enough for rough trails, hills, rocks, roots, etc., but not break the bank, nor lack adequate power to get me up steeper hills. Never will I go 40 mph on trails, or even much faster than 10 - 15 mph.
Why did I purchase this electric scooter? I'm a dog trainer and walker. I walk a pack off-leash daily for three to four hours through the woods. I wanted something safe, powerful, yet slow enough to handle the roots, hills, bumps, etc.. Dog walking has taken new meaning since I bought this and has now become "dog scooting," and it's awesome! I won't be using this everyday. It's going to help on days where I may be sore from the gym, tired, or just want to have fun "surfing" the trails. I still walk, bike with my normal MTB, and use my Ebike. (See other video for ebike conversion.)
I made this video to give people a feel of what it's like to buy a powered scooter for something like dog walking, or casual riding through rough and hilly trails.
Feel free to skip around to whatever part you want to check out, and thanks for watching.

    Update 8-10-2024
I rode this for the past two weeks daily, for about 4 hours per day on the trails. The only issues I've had was the headset (steering) tightening up again, so I had to adjust it, and the electrical problem still persists. If the electrical problem is just a safety thing, then cool. Is that normal for it to shut off regularly, for no apparent reason? It just sort of sucks to never be able to use the odometer to track your trip, since it can't stay on the whole time and resets after every power-off. I wish you could save your trip time and not have it reset after every power-off. Perhaps it doesn't like my 40% power output? I truly have no idea why it keeps shutting off, other than bad cells in the battery, etc.. It does turn right back on, and I keep going without trouble, until it shuts off again, like 10 or 20 min later. Any suggestions would be helpful, but who's out there testing this with lower power, anyone? Let me know if you have any advice. Thanks.
