Roadrunner D4+ 4.0 | Fixing Kinked Leaking Hydraulic Brake Line | Fixing Stripped Deck Screws
I've been using this escooter daily for about five to six months at this point, and the hydraulic brake lines started kinking where they fold down. I also lost a deck screw although I tightened them often. The drastic change in weather seems to be the culprit here, since it got so cold. Always check your nuts, bolts, and screws before every ride, if you can! Check them often, especially with weather temperature swings and seasonal changes.
Thanks for watching!

I'm testing out how the Roadrunner D4 4.0 works in about an inch of fresh snow on the off-road bike trails that are rough as hell. Sammy loves how I can finally keep up with her in general with this electric off-road scooter. My only issue that I didn't film was that the kickstand stopped working 4 hours into the ride due to the cold temps. I thought it broke, but when I brought it home, it war...

ElliptiGO 8C Long Stride Outdoor Elliptical Bike Quick Review

I recently had the opportunity to try out one of these outdoor elliptical bikes for roadways and it was great. I truly enjoyed the experience and easily would consider one if I needed this type of bike for a great cardio workout, or just plain joy. It feels very different than a normal bike, but it's just as easy to ride and manage. It gives you six speed/resistance settings which is very nice,...

Don't neglect / forget to wear a helmet, like me! Painting my 2-story house, I fell for an unknown reason, and sustained a Traumatic Brain Injury (TBI), like many car accident victims, as well as brain bleeds, broken skull, collar bone, ribs and punctured a lung. - All from a gravity-slow fall from a tall ladder. I was rushed to a Trauma Center (essential to this type of injury), was scanned, tested, diagnosed, treated and put in a coma for a few days. Family flew and drove in. Coming out of that, I didn't know what happened, where I was, the correct year, or even react to sight or sound. Took a total of 10 days there, before I could be moved to a Rehab. hospital, where my memories began, as did many tests. They only noticed a slight balancing issue, and slight double vision, so they kept testing me, day after day, looking for other brain deficiencies. None were found, and 5 weeks later, was able to go home (where I live alone, so that's why they tested me so thoroughly). Then I had to wait 6 months before I could drive again. In the meantime, I had to either Uber (paid for by a sister) or ride a bike to get around. I got my drivers license back, after glasses, doctors tests, and a driving test - which I hadn't done since I was 16. Wear a helmet and preserve your life, how you live and who you are!
Great advise to live by. I always wear mine. In fact, I'm gonna get a better face protection helmet with a mount for a GoPro. Upgrade plus a great camera angle! Thanks for watching and commenting!
If he would just buy his dogs an electric wheel kit, they could all cruise fast!
IFILB, What determined your decision to go rear hub as opposed to mid drive? I'm considering a conversion kit install on my old Specilized Hard Rock. BTW ... I purchased a used, low milage, 2004 Honda Shadow Spirit 1100 11 years ago for $3,800 and it still runs great. We just overhauled the fork seals this year. Plenty power for interstate highway riding, good bike for the money. 21 years old now.
The amount of fallen logs I usually have to get over. I figured, I'd just bash a mid-drive while trying to ride over ticker logs or branches. All I could imagine was just slamming the motor into logs. lol. At least with the rear hub, I can smash and ride freely, and slam my chainring all I want, instead. I will go on weird, half open trails, cuz of the dogs, way more often than not. I'll even go off trail in random bits with the dogs as well, so having clearance is definitely helpful for my riding style. Someday, I want to try out the mid-drive, for sure. I've read all about it. Thank you for the comment, though. It's probably going to rule on your SHR. I can tell that If I threw one on my GT iDrive 5.0, it would rule, as that bike is very solid and tight, far more than the yellow GT.
Cool video, I'm thinking about getting one. I'm up in Maine, lots of good trails. Still liking it?
Yes. I love it. But, check your screws often if you ride rough, roots, and rocks. I lost the nut for the front shock, but replaced it from one at Home Depot. Now, I just lost a deck board screw, which is not good. Working on a replacement. Once nuts/bots/screws get loose, they absolutely will fall out. I'm more annoyed at myself for not checking more often. lol The folding handlebars could be better, because even the screws inside the handlebars only last for a day or so before they go back to their "vibration position". I can get the handlebars to feel very snug while unfolded, but they just go back to having some play.
Model 8C is an 8-speed. You are correct that it's not ideal for riding on unpaved roads. The.combination of 20" wheels, high center of gravity, and low clearance make it generally unsuitable on anything rougher than the smoothest gravel surfaces. Regarding the lack of suspension, ElliptiGO sells an optional shock absorbing suspension stem that makes the ride much smoother on one's hands. ElliptiGO has an off-road bike called the MSUB (Mounstain Stand Up Bike). It's a 10-speed with 27.5" wheels and suspension fork, but it's not elliptical. It has the traditional circular pedaling motion, but you still ride it standing up. I noticed a couple of :decals from the Global ElliptiGO Riders Club on the frame. Was this a loaner?
It's now in the family. We've got two of them. I have limited access to it as it does not live with me. The Mountain Stand Up Bike is awesome! I never knew about that until now! Great idea! I'd love to try one someday. Looks thrilling to have no seat. I'll have to watch more vids on it. The shock absorbing suspension stem is key for anyone who wants a smoother ride. I wish mine had one. Maybe someday I'll get one a put it on, then do a video. That will be a fun upgrade that I don't think anyone will complain about. Thanks for the comment and info. I really appreciate it.
Queremos comprar no Brasil, as pernas devem ficar lindas.
Thank you for your comment. It's great for legs and cardio! It's fun and easy, a nice change from normal biking. Zero stress on the body.
This is one of the best scooter review videos I've ever seen! Please do more. Thanks for this. I just bought one on Cyber Monday deals!
Awesome! Definitely check your nuts and bolts, especially during the seasonal/temp changes, every 3 months if you ride off road over rough trails regularly. Think that may have caused my brake to leak as I lost fluid and didn't know why at the time. New vid shortly.
Thank you so much for this amazing video! I have a quick question: I have a SafePal wallet with USDT, and I have the seed phrase. (alarm fetch churn bridge exercise tape speak race clerk couch crater letter). What's the best way to send them to Binance?
nice vidio really enjoyed watching . Great dogs
Thank you very much!
I just ordered RS5
Awesome! Let me know how it is! I wonder if the ride will be smoother or the same on rough trails. I have to look into suspension upgrades, eventually, or another scooter with the best suspension, and largest tires for the very rough parts of the trails, if possible.
its a china product, what do you expect? there will be a manual which says to you, you have to check the bolts and everything after every second ride, even after every ride if it was a hard one. if not, its even worse. also due to all the tolerances with the bolts and nuts there will be play over time almost always sadly. the bold u used for the front spring seems to be at least a couple of millimeter too short, not all the threads are enganged und render the most parts of the nut useless. seeing that part of degradation over the very short course of 3 months is heavy.
Whe have to be honest , its a Junk ! Would not wait untill your Scooter brake in two at high Speed ....
@@tamasczetin2290hahahaha you are right here 😅 don't hurt yourself. Better do something stupid with dat MF-mobile and press some content out of it 🤝☺️
I had no expectations, really. It's all a learning curve, for me. I'm glad I know where the limits are now. I saw where they tell you to check the bolts, and I didn't do it well enough, to be honest. I think I just felt them by hand, but I'd advise anyone to go through with some wrenches just to ensure it's tight, and to do it often. So far, since the past video, the nut is holding up very strong and isn't loosening yet. Soon, I will tighten it all again. It could use a suspension upgrade, if possible, as a one-inch tall rock or root can stop you short with both wheels powered at low speeds. Larger tires, and air suspension would rule.
reconsider at which point selling that thing and building up something with a better base could be cheaper

I have the same problem when I was waiting for mine to get dropped off. I ended up getting it three days later from my local shipping center picking it up myself what a nightmare it was due to the UPS driver being lazy and not wanting to pick it up at the end of the day. I have the same scooter. I’ve got 500 miles on it now in about three months. I do 14 miles a day. It’s a great scooter. I put the PMT tires on it because I ride street only but so far so good also good review brother. I like to keep my peace settings, cranked all the way up, but I like the way you did it too
Nice! Sounds great. I have 85 miles on it in a few weeks. I've been using it daily. Today was the first day in a few weeks I walked instead of scooted due to the lightning storms around. I've been loving it. Yeah, UPS was a shit-show initially, wasted at least 2 work shifts trying to be home for the signature but the guy never arrived with it! I'm not sure if that's due to laziness or whatnot. Been getting 4 to 5 days out with the dogs on one charge lately. That's great for what I need it for. I'll probably pick up the second charger to have it charge faster.
Nice job reviewing it man!
Thank you very much, Carnivor86! Sweet name!
Lol i get it that question before seing that it on the internet people wouldnt understand and act like the internet must be broken lol
You may have issues with them stupid sensors on the breaks alot people do with these kits! Don't know why they even use these they don't on manufactured ebikes
So far, so good. They were a pain to install, and epoxy them into place, but so far, they haven't moved at all and work fine, surprisingly.
The Bafang mid-drive is good. It goes straight through the bottom bracket hole; great design! But if you can get hold of a cheap Kona Process 134, it's a good bike for conversion. Just use all the Bafang kit; it comes as a package with a Bafang Samsung battery and charger! These non-branded batteries and chargers scare the heck out of me!
I would have gone with that, but for where I ride everyday, I'm jumping over logs, rocks, dirt stumps, etc., I figured I'd just bash that motor straight off while sending myself into a tree. lol. I knew the weight would be weird, but it makes more sense to have the clearance for getting over debris on the trails. Someday, i wanna try the mid-drive, though. They do look great, fun, and the weight is in the right spot on the frame.
Oh hell with that! Charger making that noise already get it out the house!
Haha! I hear you. It quieted down and I monitor it while charging. So far, no issues.
Just bite the bug and buy one honestly totally different feel with the new geometry and alot safer! I had one these GTs years ago i know its not the best ride i went and boght a Bosch emtb with the smart system after watching alot these amd then getting a shot on someone's home mader and a real ebike the difference was a no brainer totally different
I would, but the price is what's insane to me. I get it, it's all expensive parts, but for like four grand, I'd have to wait a while to save up. Not worth it for me right now. Someday, I will have one, make no mistake. Just don't know when. lol. However, my brother bought a commuter ebike stock for about $1200 and it's light as a feather for no suspension. Worked the same as my conversion, really. I was impressed with the weight, though. Def wasn't heavy, under 40 lbs.
full suspension😐
Spring-loaded! lol
See if it has cruise control. Then you just have to steer.
1 mph? lol I still have to try it!

Did I miss how much this all cost?
$693.56, to be precise. I'll update the description. I may have mentioned it in the video somewhere, but I forget where. I ordered it with one of the battery options that came with it. Thanks for watching!
You should be able to get a USB connector to reprogram your PAS levels so that you've got better control at each level. Changing the power curves I believe.
Thank you. I am planning on doing that soon. That is the next step and I will make a quick video about it. I appreciate the comment. Thanks for watching.
Just watched this today and I want to convert my bike too am a youtuber I do cycling content too but my question is ? Where did you buy this kit
I watched a few YT vids and read some forums only to notice people were using the Bafang ekit without many problems. I just looked it up on Amazon and ordered it from there. I think the kit was around $275 and the battery came with it for a total around $700 or so here in 2024. Thanks for watching!!

Bro, make sure, you stretch or do mobility after a hard workout lol. Great video, very instructive. Thanks
I do! Morning calf cramps are hitting me lately, so I'm drinking more water and doing full-body stretches more often, usually earlier at the gym during the day, then before bed at night. Crazy how my calves can cramp up when I first move them right after I wake up in the mornings. Thank you for the advice and the compliment! I appreciate it a ton.
I was gonna as a side project get that back battery as a seat + a triangle and normal battery hooked up to a 3000w and 48-72v controller
That's pretty cool. They say to keep the battery cool with plenty of air flow so hopefully sitting on it won't be too hot. That motor must be a beast compared to mine. I think that's what some of those electric dirt bikes have. Saw one go up that steep incline easily the other day. I was in awe.
Super-interesting topic, and I really wanted to, but the constant cutting made it physically uncomfortable for me to watch your video. (Example: Around 7:50 when you talk about connectors, there's something like 5 cuts in just a couple of seconds.) Guess I'm just getting old... :-/
Haha. You think you're getting old? I'll say a word, then a minute passes, then I'll say a few more words, then another minute passes, then I'll finish the sentence, but I'll studder 4x in the sentence. I can barely watch my own footage back like that, so I was just chopping out any and all "nothing" parts due to my own problem with not speaking very well and thoroughly yet. I'm working on it, but I appreciate the comment. I'll try to be much smoother in future videos with speaking so there won't be a need for so many cuts. It was a lot of just staring at the bike with nothing going on in many of those moments. It would have been a very long video if I kept em all in. Super helpful comment, though. I'm a progress at work, first year making vids really. Thanks for your interest!
mid drive is better
no it's not, it's worse for your sprockets and chain
Felt like I would have smashed it into a log or rock since I pass over so many. Sorta wanted to play it safe for my first build, but I am very curious about those motors and I'd love to install one on something, someday. Thanks for the comment, though.
@@kristofsomers2020 Interesting. I wonder why.
@@iforgotilikebikes8543 Better feedback from pedaling, regardless of if you have a torque or a cadence sensor. Your center of mass is also not offset by the weight of a hub motor. Also it lets you run gears rather than being stuck at a single speed of the hub motor, you'll be ghost pedaling a lot more if you go top speed. I upgraded from a 1000W direct-drive rear hub motor to a Bafang BBS02 750W Mid-Drive and it's like night and day. Installation is also way easier due to the bafang having standardised (and waterproof) HiGO connectors. The only upside to a direct-drive style hub motor is being able to regenerate power when you brake. (you can still use e-brake cutoff on other styles of motors but it won't add charge to your battery). Also without a torque arm your hub motor puts wear on your bike's dropouts as compared to the mid drive wearing your drivetrain which is easier to replace and with maintenance should last a long time.
Absolutely! 100%
Found a hole in the market and you took it. Thanks for the info man 👍

I dropped the SRAM Eagle into it. I'll post the link. I'm sure you could build a drivetrain for cheaper but I chose this path and have been very happy with it so far. Eagle groupset specs are here: www.sram.com/en/sram/models/gs-nx-1-a1
My new 5 month old bike skips on the smallest cog? Judging by many of the comments here...stiff chain link or something? I haven't lubed the chain since I bought it. EDIT: Issue seems for me that several chain links had gone stiff. I hadn't oiled the chain since purchase 5 months ago. There were minor rust sections and raised links you could see from sideways. It was slipping mainly on the smallest cog I suppose because the smallest cog has the least surface area so when those seized and raised chain links went around it they just did not fit snug, whereas on the larger cogs with more surface area that wasn't so much a problem. I figured this out and fixed it myself before I had to go cap in hand to the bike shop. So...oil your chain kids.
Awesome to know! Hopefully that will help some others without RD or cassette problems. Thanks a ton. I waxed my chain and have been loving it.
Thanks for the vid. I have the same headset. The black washers are a pain . I think the larger one goes on top but not sure . The Instruction manual doesn’t mention them
Hey. Was just chuckling to myself, thinking "If you are lucky it's a Japanese made Bianchi". I'm sure it is. I have a 1990's manganese-alloy Peugeot, everything is threaded French/ Italian. So bottom bracket and headset ate a pain.

Even I can't believe how many people watched this by now. lol. I even looked up a few chain slipping vids before but sorta noticed no one had a crappy old odoro head cam to tape onto the pole, so I did! haha. Thanks for watching even if you got nothing out of it.
Had the same issue after replacing new chain and new cassette on a 10 speed rear. Specifically the chain was bouncing between the 10th (hardest) and 9th cogs. Ended up being my rear derailleur was slightly bent that I must have knocked when taking the rear wheel off. Anyhow went to the LBS and the mechanic said within 5 secs just eyeballing my RD it would be the problem, and so it was. I guess like a lot of guys on this thread you think you know how to fix most things, and it’s times like these that bring you back to reality 😎
I hear you. I made sure my chain line and RD were as straight as humanly possible with my eyes long before this problem happened. I knew about it, but the RD seemed fine. Luckily, someone else's comment worked for me! This journey is all about learning through screwing up and breaking stuff, for me, that is.
Se podrá modificar a R27.5?
It looks like one of the teeth on the smallest cog is partly damaged ( 2:56), and your entire cassette looks worn down. Pretty sure, it is the problem. New cassette and new chain would solve it.
It did! Thanks for the comment! Comments like yours worked for me!
what a waste of time this video is to watch!
Based on my experience, if the chain is new, the most common cause is chain with stiff link. You can easily find the stiff link when you reverse the pedaling direction. Just loosen the stiff link. Another is worn out cog.
@@alo0ann If you find the stiff link, lubricate it, try to bend it sideways, both directions and work it and repeat as necessary. If that doesn't work, you can use a right size flat head screwdriver. Place the head between the plates and twist it to open it up a bit.
We have the same problem buddy
I hope you solved it by now!
@@iforgotilikebikes8543 the thing is Incompatible chain and cog
I‘ve the same problem. Originally my bike was a 3x9 Slx transmission and it slip gears. I converted to a 1x9 using the same cranks, new cassette, new chain, new chainring and it still slips gears in the smallest cogs. I’ve checked the chain line and put washers to correct the angle since the cranks are not designed to work in a one-by setup, and it looks fairly ok. I don't have any idea what is happening, since the original configuration happened either. Can anyone give any advice of how to solve it pls 😭
Maybe the chain is not compatible in the cassette try to move it little by little the chain check if it's sliding then you know it's not compatible...
