  • Mary Ann Hughes of Special Family Transitions interviews Sue Moraska, Program Director of Houston Community College’s Vocational Advancement and Skill Training Academy (VAST), to share information with families looking for post-high school options for their loved ones with Autism or an Intellectual or Developmental Disability.
    VAST is a two year certificate program, ideal for neurodiverse individuals who have graduated high school, to focus on workplace and executive functioning skills, in an academic setting. This transition program prepares students for the workplace and for future academic endeavors.

    VAST Academy provides post-secondary transition programs and comprehensive support services, which lead to meaningful credentials, employment and independence for individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities.
