My name is Mary Ann Hughes and my goal is to provide guidance in divorce involving children with disabilities, so families can get the best outcome with as little overwhelm, stress, time, and expense as possible.
My own divorce journey, where I had to research and navigate the complexities of divorce involving special needs children, as well as advocate for what was right for me and my sons on opposite ends of the autism spectrum, has led me to my new purpose - to help other families through the process, to get the best result in their special needs divorce, with as little emotional energy and resource as possible. I have become a Certified Divorce Coach to provide even more support.
I invite you to learn more about my story and efforts at www.SpecialFamilyTransitions.com & specialfamilytransitions.
If you have ideas for new videos, please comment on a video or email me at maryann@specialfamilytransitions.com

This is beautiful
So glad you enjoyed this special moment
How sweet! I could listen to her voice all day ♥️
She had such an incredibly calming and soothing voice!
My baby still to young to understand 😭
Hopefully you can tailor to your child's level. I am presenting at free online Autism Parenting Summit this week, if that's helpful to you.
probably driver issue
I remember seeing this as a kid I’m 56 now
Cool that you have that memory. It was the first time for me to see this.
Think it the tree spirit we get to see when the eclipse happens
The Matrix
Cool, interesting. TFS!
Looks like the asphalt is BUBBLING! 🤯 I can only _imagine_ what our ancestors thought 😅
Shadow bands
No these aren't shadow bands.
Very cool! It’s reflecting the contour of the trees!
Thanks for Caring
Thank you so much for this channel
I'm so glad you find it helpful! I'll be adding more content soon!
Who summoned kokoshibo😂
Solar eclipses have nothing to do with the Moon, Moon is not seen before eclipse or after, and the shadow start on top of the Sun. Also, eclipses are on recurring cycles, so yet another sign in the sky clock for us to figure out what means, stars and "planets" are for signs and seasons Genesis 1:14
Thanks for information on solar eclipse. For my mention of the moon, I was referring to the shape of the shadow on the ground, which looked like a crescent moon shape to me, though I understand it wasn't the moon. I thought it looked pretty cool.
@@specialfamilytransitionsyeah they are cool, and we can only wonder what cause them, certanly doesnt seem to be the Moon based on the observations, only NASA can photograph solar eclipse with the Moon seen in middle. So they remain a mystery. The Maya prediction of ecliopses are still true so we are inside a high precicion clock :)
??????
They have to. The moon is a cause to the solar eclipse. The moon covers a part the sun (or all of the sun) from the earth when a solar eclipse happens.
😯 Where do you live that it was like that?
Houston
Great program. My son attends.
Thank you so much for posting this! we were totally not able to see this where I live.
Glad you enjoyed it!
I’ve seen this before
It was my first time as well!
That is the coolest!!!!! Thank you so very much for sharing!!!
You're welcome. It was amazing.
Jesus is coming. 1st Corinthians 15:1-4
The graphics are getting real good in the matrix lol
That looks hella satisfying
Yes, I found it very enthralling
Just put em hostage in a basement
in my OPIONION these are not good videos to make like I get how it the videos can be useful but I mean I don’t think it’s right to make videos like this
Why
After the kids go to bed on Christmas Eve for me as well.
It's way less stress that way for me, and such a nice sight on Christmas morning!
@@specialfamilytransitions for us it was him not understanding that all presents are not his. Some are for the other kids.
@@jillcooper6371 Yes, that can be hard. I wonder if putting stickers with the picture of the intended recipient might help.
@@specialfamilytransitions no it didn't. He still opens his siblings presents.
Does he respond well to Social Stories?
You are handling this like a champ
Thank you this video was so helpful. I had a parent on DS Group on Facebook recommend putting together a visual story to explain just want you noted, living apart though still a family. A picture of the homes is great idea. I’ll have to look for pictures to use for us. My son is 13 severe developmental delay adjusted age 3-4 yrs, also has ADHD, ODD, OCD, PTSD, anxiety and impulse control disorder. He’s been having very disruptive behavior destroying things in the house, throwing a glass outdoor table yesterday at my daughter. This behavior isn’t knew though we haven’t really talked to hi yet. In our situation I’ll be the one leaving. I’m closing on a house on 6/30. We’ve been trying to talk about feelings mad, sad, frustrated, happy, bored or tired are some he can tell us if we ask though he can’t tell us why. I’m going to get to work and try to put something together. We’re currently staying in FL at my daughters for the month of June while our house closes. That’s another adjustment for him because he loves it here and doesn’t want to go back home to NC. If I could explain a new home I think he would do better. Well I’m rambling just so glad I found this video!
I'm so glad the video was helpful. Sounds like you all are dealing with a lot of transitions. Good luck putting together the social story, and with the move. Maybe you could put pictures of the old house, and the new house, as well as his toys/belongings, and let him know his things will be with him in the new house.
Wishing you the best
