The history of Matera is fascinating! At the hotel there was a thermostat in each cave that was set at a certain temperature and we couldn’t change it.
I lived in Italy for two years; it was alright, although if you don't like cheese or tomatoes, then you'll starve. Their women are reasonably attractive too, until they hit 30, then they age in dog years. I dated an Italian bird for 6 months, which was fun, but I wasted 3 of those months shaving her back.
Fabulous, if you plan on visiting South of Italy - Matera should definitely be on your list! What a place...

We stayed in Matera at the Grotta Barisano it was next door to an artisan named Nisio Lopergolo. We enjoyed the views & the history.
